As promised, a new thread for those of us following GI.

There's a separate thread for recipes now - thanks to those of you doing the cutting and pasting of recipes .

I've lost 2 lbs this week, so that's goodbye to the 6lbs I put on in my 2 day "breadfest" !

melbob - I bet you haven't! Weight just fluctuates so much with fluid etc. There are about 27,000 calories in 9pounds and I doubt you have eaten that much ! hang on in there and you will find it goes away again.

melbob · 08/08/2005 20:00

I know thats why I am stunned. In someways its easier than if I had gained a couple of pounds or stayed the same 'cos I just think bS to that!!

puff · 10/08/2005 21:51

Saker - glad you had a lovely time - and as you say, hopefully what you've gained will come off fairly fast.

Melbob - hope you're doing ok - it sounds like some kind of water retention - that's what happens to me when I eat bread (grrrrrrr!).

melbob · 11/08/2005 19:22

9lbs must have been water, I am now back to weight I was on Fri. All I can think is that it was bread. anyway onwards and downwards. Going to wedding this weekend and the food is cream tea in the afternoon with fish and chips in the evenong and free booze. Plus my Mum is having DS overnight so DH and I have booked in nice hotel. A bit of a GI minefield altogether

puff · 11/08/2005 19:47

Hurrah melbob!

Bloody bread - I love it, but it hates me !

Enjoy your weekend - the good thing about GI is it's not too painful to get back on track with .

Saker · 11/08/2005 22:26

Glad it did disappear again Melbob. I'm hoping that I can blame a bit of my 10 pounds on water retention but I have two weeks of bread and butter to account for

melbob · 12/08/2005 20:40

Mmmmmmmmmmmm bread. was taken out to lunch today and abstained from gorgeous looking homemade cheesebread.

Saker · 13/08/2005 14:29

Now have managed to lose 5lbs of the holiday gain so feeling a bit better about myself. I suspect the other five pounds will be harder to shift.

melbob · 14/08/2005 15:34

Well done saker am sure you will do well with the remaining 5. Hang on in there

Saker · 18/08/2005 21:33

Very quiet here - how's everyone doing?

melbob · 19/08/2005 20:02

Hi sorry. recovering from nightmare of journey with DS which, to cut along story short, ended up with me crunchiing the car and a 2 hour wait for the AA and DS and I getting hom at nearly midnight.

Weight a bit stuck but probably have PMS so giving it a few more days.

How are you doing?

puff · 19/08/2005 20:14

Saker · 27/08/2005 13:17

Not so well this week, I seemed to have gained a pound from somewhere . I haven't been brilliant this week and had my dad's retirement thing last weekend. Never mind, press on. I only want to lose about another 8-10 pounds so I am going to keep going until October half term and see where I am at.

melbob · 27/08/2005 21:32

Hey its only a pound and your Dad's do sounds a good reason
