a ds falling out of high chair Ria, I hope he was OK. dd2 is know to climb into hers when she's hungry, I'm not great at remembering to feed my children at 21mths she's learnt it's a good way to remind me she needs feeding.

Pru, good luck on Wednesday. Bet you couldn't gain it as quick as me though, I've been know to put 8lb on in a week before. My sister used to come to class with me, she never lost more than 2lb a week even when she'd been 100 percent on form. She also never gained more than 1.5lb when she'd been 100 percent off plan either. The joke about looking at a donut sends the lb's to my hips is kind of true for me.

Well done on the 5K & 10k goals.....amazing!

Thanks jaffa i think i get it now. Do you pay? I guess you do your own weigh in and don't stand on your laptop

MmeJaffaB · 04/02/2009 08:26

Yes sep, you have to pay to get full access to the site, it costs me £20 a month. You do your own weigh in and it asks you to way in the same time each week, I get an e-mail to say it's been 7 days, it's time to weigh in. I do mine on a Monday morning. I suppose there is a chance for people to fib but what does that achieve? Only cheating yourself that way IMO.

It's a little unpersonal for me, thats why I need the support here, I know this is online too but I am at least talking to someone and have a bit of a lifeline.

my weigh in tonight. i find weigh in days drag on. I wish I was weighed in the morning its a pain waiting to find out. I need to grow up and stop being like a kid at christmas lol

going to go and make some leek and potato soup, bake some bread for the rest of the family and maybe some biscuits (not for me obviously unless I have a bad weigh in lol)

sep1712 · 04/02/2009 12:58

Jaffa, its nice to have someone to talk to about sw isn't. My friends/family are starting to glaze over as soon as i mention it now. As you can see i do put my whole heart into doing what ever i'm doing, so trying now to tell them exactly every mouth full of food of consumed that day. Starting to get comments now though, today at toddlers some one said " i didn't think you were overweight before but you look so much slimmer!". I do wholy believe in sw though.

Thought this might be of use to someone, just doing my shopping/planning for the week adhead:

Breakies: Alpen bars, weetabix, porriage, bacon and toms, scramble egg and bacon.

Lunches: Soup, noddles, riveta and laughing cow light, egg sarnie, jacket spud and beans.

Teas:
Diced chick onions, garlic, peas, sweetcorn, red ppeppers, mixed herbs, rice and soya sauce.
abergine pasta bake.
chips,egg and beans.
Shepards pie and veg.
jacket spud tuna and salad.
omlette and chips and salad.
tikka curry.
sunday roast.

Snacks: fruit and mullers.

If anyone has any ideas to liven me up for next week let me know please.

sep1712 · 04/02/2009 14:37

Does anyone know how many syns the large round snacajack choc chip things are please?

Can they be a healthy extra? (you never know, chocolate as a healthy extra?)

keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 16:49

blast, not going well today

I'll blame it on DH having a rare day off, having him around is upsetting my routine (poor bloke can't do anything right, I complain when he's not here cos I miss him...)

caykon · 04/02/2009 17:42

Ria i am the same when my dh is about. Had him off from wed last week and didnt go back till tuesday so had a mixed up week.

Had a bit of a binge today a tube of smarties about 5 animal biscuits and packet of crisps opppss

Off to weigh in in a bit!!!!!!

caykon · 04/02/2009 19:48

I lost another 4 1/2 lbs this week taking my total to 10 lbs in 2 weeks

keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 19:55

MmeJaffaB · 04/02/2009 20:56

caykon, crisps and 4.5lb..... Well done you!

Ria, Oh no you don't young lady, you can do this, come on. Tomorow is a new day. I say that every evening

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 21:13

tomorrow is a new day (and DH won't be here)

I CAN and WILL do this. it's going to take longer than I would like, but slow and steady wins the race

I have done more exercise this week, at least a 15 min walk every day, two yesterday. and tomorrow I'm planning some manic cleaning.

I have tuna pasta salad for lunch tomorrow, and left over fajita mix to have with rice for tea, but am stuck on breakfast, unless I go to the shop for bacon & mushrooms after I've taken DS2 to school. Is special K a HEB?

keepingitRia · 04/02/2009 21:19

OK, advice please if you don't mind. am out for lunch with Dsis on Friday, which is fine, I will have something with veg or salad.
but next weekend I have friends coming over for drinks. I have decided not to cook a meal (as I'm too idle and my friend is a really good cook, also too much hassle cooking one thing for the grown ups and another for the kids) but friend has suggested bringing Indian mini snacks. I need SW friendly nibbles, preferably free so I can have the syns for wine, but a bit more special than chopped raw veg and flavoured natural yogurt. I am almost tempted to change my ming about the meal and make a jambalaya.

sep1712 · 04/02/2009 22:14

How about spicy sweet potatoe, butternut squash and potatoe wedges with a very low fat natural yogurt a chive dip? You could do loads and would be suitable for everyone?

You could do a large plater of different expensive fruit, put blind folds on and guess what they are. ( i know i'm sad, you'd think we didn't own a tele wouldn't you!). Or you could just have it with choc dips and muller dips.

A huge pot of home made soup always goes down well at this time of year aswell.

Beware not to let the booze make you pick rubbish.

Enjoy your night!!!!

dearprudence · 04/02/2009 22:46

4 1/2 caykon - that's fab!

I lost a half tonight. It's what I was expecting really. But I stayed to class and feel really motivated for the week now. Have done my meal plans and am off work tomorrow so will do a big shop.

I'm going to fill in a diet sheet this week as well - time to stop titting about and have a 100% week for once.

Keep going Jaffa - perseverence is more important than perfection!

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 09:48

wholemeal toast and tea this morning. Have some delicious apples for snacking on later

added an extra 15 mins to the return walk from school this morning, and now I'm off to clean some windows and floors

have a good day

MmeJaffaB · 05/02/2009 10:12

PMSL at delicious Apples!

I have a delicious banana for 11am.

OP posts:
keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 12:36

LOL MJB. they are braeburns from the co-op that I bought the other day, and it was the tastiest apple I've had in a long time.
sadlyLuckily I don't have any chocolate cake

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 14:32

hungry...might have to break open the apples

sep1712 · 05/02/2009 15:03

I must have walked at least 4 miles today! Been sledging with the kids, shattered now! Will that compansate for all the hot choc's?

Be a devil ria and have 2!

Well done pru, get motivated and you'll have a great week.

dearprudence · 05/02/2009 16:00

Ria - it sounds like you didn't have lunch . You should, you know.

I'm very motivated today - did a big shop this morning and have planned yummy meals. Tonight, we're having the lamb kebabs from the new magazine, with SW wedges, yoghurt, and I'm making my own salsa with tomatoes/red onion/coriander/lime juice/garlic.

I will have a 100% week this week. I am determined.

Good work on the exercise sep.

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 16:11

I had tuna pasta salad for lunch, loads of it, but I'm still wobbly now. I think I need to go back to the big breakfasts again.

dearprudence · 05/02/2009 16:13

Ok, sorry. But if you are genuinely hungry, then it's OK to eat.

I tend to skip breakfasts too, but I really notice on the days I do eat it, that I feel less hungry in the late afternoon.

keepingitRia · 05/02/2009 16:20

TBH the only time I do eat breakfast and lunch is when I'm dieting I'm worse if I'm doing it a big cleaning job/decorating around the house because I like to crack on and get things finished. For some reason I find myself hungrier earlier if I have eaten breakfast, but one of the things is reeducating yourself and breaking old habits isn't it?

tis a very stern wag you've got there though deaprprudence I'm sure you'll get to use it on me again soon

I don't think I'll get out to do a big shop until Saturday now, which cuts down my variety a bit, but most of the food I have in the cupboard is SW friendly. Am quite looking forward to my day out tomorrow, just hope the snow holds off.
