I'm glad to say distracting myself and coming on here did the trick. By the time I had written my last post I knew it would be madness to go eat rubbish, so I went and got a shower and got dressed, which made me feel a bit better and chucked some quorn chunks, onion, pepper, courgette, mushroom and corrot in a wok with som soy sauce and 5 spice and fed the kids and myself a stirfry. It only took 10 minutes and filled me up. I was very pleased with myself afterwards.

As for motivation I really don't know. I think mine has been some recent pictures of myself at my sisters wedding. I look awful. I am wearing a size 18 dress and it makes me look awful. Only 18 months ago it was me getting married I wore size 12 jeans on my wedding day.
Looking at those pictures made me realise that in that short space of tim I have put on 4 1/2 stone. If I kept repeating that where would I end up.

caykon: A box of tissues and lemsip heading your way..... If your taking cough syrup etc be careful because they have syns!! get better soon.

pru: some motivation tips for you.

1.Hang a dress up on the wardrobe that you want to get into.
2.Put a picture of yourself that you either love or hate on your fridge.
3.Set small targets and reward yourself with a treat wheb you reach them. etc pampering, day out, going to boots and treating your self to some beauty treatments to do at home, hair cut.
4.Reward your self each night with a little of what you fancy, taken from your syns. You can only have it if you have been good all day. Just before you go to bed so you don't get carried away!!
5.Preplan your weekly food plan. Shop for it and stick to it.
6.Sit down in a quite place and picture yourself at target.

Hope this helps.

I'm feeling very smug!
Planning and food shop done today. Went to aldi and got lots of fruit/veg very cheap.
Made spicy butternut squash soup. Meatfree stew for tea.
Check me out, i might be thin one day very sooooon, ye har.

sep1712 · 27/01/2009 21:51

Where is everyone??? hope your all being good!!

caykon · 28/01/2009 15:53

What a nightmare of a day!

All started well dropped dd at playgroup went to sainsburys to stock up on fruit an veggies.
Then got home and a call from dh, could i pick him up and take him to A and E.
Had to frantically arrange for my sister to go and get dd when she finished, drive 30 mins to get dh 30 to get him to hospital sit in hospital for the rest of the day and try and keep ds occupied. Dh has an abrasion on his cornia and has to go back to hospital tomorrow to have it assesed.
So today wasnt quite the organised day I was planning.
Glad to say I stuck to plan consuming only a diet coke at the hospital.

Weigh in tonight so lets hope that goes well.

fairydust · 28/01/2009 16:16

super noodles does anyone know any that are syn free at all please

rosieposey · 28/01/2009 16:39

Hiya, just a quick question. I want to start slimming world in a few weeks and was having a look at the new plan on line - can someone just clear up for me if its like the one i did last year i.e. red days and green days with healthy extras. It seemed that you could mix the two but no healthy extras were allowed from what i could see but syns were. Can you still have unlimited yogurt and fruit. I used to rely heavily on green days just because i loved pasta and potatoes especially and then i would just have a peice of meat taken from my healthy extra in the evening. If there is no more healthy extras i will really miss my two peices of cheddar

Sorry if this has been covered before - just wondered if someone could quickly outline the plans rules for me or if indeed you are allowed to stick to the 'old' rules as per the slimming world plan i did last year?

Thanks

fairydust · 28/01/2009 16:59

you can still stick to the old plan..
the new plan allows unlimted free food from the green and red with one HE from the A sections and one from the B section then ur syns on top

sep1712 · 28/01/2009 17:12

Caykon sorry to hear about dh, hope hes ok. Little tip, don't tell consultant they you have lived on diet coke today will you! Hows the cold? Hope all goes well with weigh in and hospital trip.
rosie good luck with starting.
fairy you explained it perfectly, not sure re supper noddles.

rosieposey · 28/01/2009 17:49

Thanks for the info Just to say fairy dust that super noodles 95% fat free (batchelors) used to be syn free on green - i think the ordinairy ones have syns though.

Thanks for the good luck sep will get cracking in about 4 weeks or so ( maybe less ) as am having baby no4 via section next Friday - just be nice to get down to pre preg weight (and that wasnt small!) but need to get back into some nice clothes again

sep1712 · 28/01/2009 19:58

rosie: gosh what extrems we go to to be slimmer of the week!!!( having a baby, should see at least a 8lb loss). Please let us know how it all goes and what you have. If you breast feed i think you can have another healthy extra??? I think it helps you to loss weight but i still store some on my hips for the milk supply.... or that was my excuse.

You may not reconize me when you come back after the baby as i will be as thin as kate Moss then lol.

A new baby your so lucky, enjoy.

caykon · 28/01/2009 21:17

Thankfully I had some chilli left over in the fridge, so managed to have that before class. Wouldn't be good fainting in class due to lack of food.

I am so pleases though as I lost 5.5lbs this week, I can't quite believe it

WallOfSilence · 28/01/2009 21:39

Oh wow! Well done Caykon!!

I managed to drop 1.5lb making it 6lb in three weeks & you go & lose almost the same in a week!! You go girl!!!!

Well done everyone, this thread is so supportive!!

Password is Shrimp for anyone who doesn't go to classes

sep1712 · 28/01/2009 22:26

Well done caykon wit woooo. and you ate before class.I'm pleased for you.

2 lb a week Wallos, slow and steady wins the race. Thanks for the password.

rosieposey · 29/01/2009 08:26

Thanks again I cant wait to get started really i cant. Nothing too extreme but its cheered me up nicely knowing i can have a healthy extra! Im a cheese fiend. Great that you post the password too on this board That helps as truth be told i wont get to class and its so useful for looking up syns.

Will read this board for inspiration too - will hopefully get me kick started then on a nice healthy eating plan. Even before i got pregnant i had about 4 stone to lose so sadly its going to be about 6 now - just want to concentrate on gettting two or three off initially so i can enjoy my summer wardrobe from last year then worry about the rest if i do ok IYSWIM.

Wow Caykon - thats quite a loss! well done This board is a good inspiration and i never had that the last time i tried SW so am glad ive found you all

caykon · 29/01/2009 08:49

Rosie - i also have a lot to loose so I am just taking it half a stone at a time.

I did do sw before just after i hd ds to slim for my wedding, sadly I have put 4.5 stone on since then. But on a plus side whilst breastfeeding I was allowed about 6 Healthy extras, /i will see if I can dig the paperwork out and let you know exactly.

this week I would like to loose 1.5lbs to get my half stone. Thqt would be my first mini target gone.

dearprudence · 30/01/2009 13:58

WallOfSilence, that's a fantastic loss.

And Caykon - that's unbelievable!

Thanks for the motivation tips. I think my problem is that having lost 3 stone I obviously look much better, and have got a bit complacent - I was a size 18/20 and now I'm more like 14/16. Which is fab, but I really want to get back to a healthy BMI, and then some. Plus, I've been doing this for 2 and a half years now - which is why I'm so excited about Extra Easy. The novelty factor is fab.

I couldn't get to class on Wednesday as DH was away, so I'm calling it another maintain (possible half pound loss) and am fully back on track now. Beans for lunch, home made burger and SW chips for tea.

caykon · 30/01/2009 14:15

prudence - 3 stone loss is great, I have a while yet before i get that far, but hopefully I will make it as well.

Well things are finally back to normal, apart from having dh at home.

Yesterday I was more prepared for dh's hospital visit so had weetabix with banana on
before we went and took a bottle of water and some fruit with me. Thankfully we werent there for long, so had a cheese salad wholemeal roll for lunch with a yoghurt and made a quorn chilli for dinner with salad.

Today i had porride made with water with chopped banana and blueberries on
had a pear during the morning and for lunch cooked some quorn pieces and chucked them in a big bowl of mixed salad leaves, cucumber, tomato and beetroot and dressed with a little balsamic vinegar and lemon juice (very tasty)
For dinner I fancy a roast probably pork, fry light roast tatties, lots of steamed veg and probably syn gravy and maybe a yorkshire pud.

Hope everyone else is doing well, its very quiet round here!

Are you ready for a big kick up the bottom?

Do you really want me to shout at you?

  1. Do you meal plan for the week, shop for it and stick to it.
  1. Have a think to yourself, do you really want what you pput into your mouth to control you?

And remember if all else fails and you can be bothered stick to the simple rule. No frying, no rubbish, cut off the fat, cut out the butter, bread, sugar, choc, drinkies etc Just eat normally then with theses rules you should at least damage limitations and not feel your on a diet. Or have the weekend of and regroup yourself on monday.

If you want someone to nag you feel free to leave your email address!!!

Come on you know you want it!!! Its nearlly summer and we won't be hiding under our wollies for much longer!!!

If you do want to chat, we're always here jaffa x
