what about 3 or 4 slices of Weight Watchers Bread (about 1.5/2 per slice) you could add peppers, sliced tomato, ham, chicken, mushrooms, sweetcorn and HE1 cheese (grated would go along way!) etc to make it a really super dooper one.

caykon · 24/01/2009 13:55

Pizza is one of the things I will miss, as even sinning the proper stuff I can't resist once tasted
The family just finished off carrot and lentil soup for lunch, i had mine with scan bran and looks like cannoloni for dinner tonight.

Even in the 2.5 days I have been doing this I feel so much better already and my house is so tidy never had more energy, what will I be like in a months time lol. its good though. it finally feels like I am getting myself sorted.

MmeJaffaB · 24/01/2009 14:41

No such things as scan bran (not that I'd want the vile stuff) or WW bread here.... It can be quite difficult some times to find the HE alternatives. For bread I have one slice of a brown complet loaf as a HE, it's my substitute to the listed HE's as I can't get any of them. I'm loosing so it can't be doing too much harm.

Hi Fi bars I miss the most.... they won't do them through body optimise online. I loved the choc orange ones and the pecan.

I've found my tastes have really changed in the last 12 months with all this healthy eating and pizza just tastes greasy now, as does chip shop fish and chips.

Could you not make a wafer thin base for yours and nick some syns from tomorrow if you feel you've gone over?

sep1712 · 24/01/2009 18:53

Takes ages but you can make a pizza base with mash spud, bake blind then add topping so its free on a green. Do use a not stick tray or you can't get it out. Not really the same as pizza but ever so nearlly!!!
Have you tried the orange and choc alpen, nicer than high-fi bars and you can have 2 as a HEB.
Caykon, because your now in control of your eating it helps you control the rest of your life. well donexx

MmeJaffaB · 24/01/2009 19:57

can't get that either......sounds nice Parents taking a trip back to the UK in a few weeks so may get a list together of SW friendly goodies.

lol sep, I posted that pizza recipe last week...... great minds!

I do seem so much more organised in all aspects of my life now that I am taking care of my eating.

The potato baked in the oven sounds nice, you could top it with so many yummt things, think I will be trying that one!

So eating for today has been

brekkie - pineapple, grapes, kiwi, banana and ww yogurt

lunch - carrot and lentil soup with scan bran

dinner - spinich cannaloni with slad leaves and cucumber

I've also had a pear, satsuma and tried the new mullerligh with cherry layer and choc bits (syns) it was nice but nothing to shout about IMO.

Going to have a red day tommorrow sausage bacon for brekfast, then either a roast or stew for dinner, and possibly fish for lunch but that will depend on what time I get up and what time I eat brekkie lol

WallOfSilence · 25/01/2009 12:50

HI everyone.

Mmejaffa, sorry to hear your news but good for you looking on the positive side, it will be good for her parents to know they have your support.

Food wise I dunno if I've been good or bad this week.

I tend to stick to green days as I like pasta potatoes etc... when I have a red day I never know what to have along with the meat IYKWIM.

My weigh-in is Wednesday so on Thursday I had fruit for breakfast with yoghurt.

Lunch at work was a hard boiled egg, a chopped up tomato, some beetroot & a few grapes, followed by an apple.

I had dinner at my sister's house as it was my goddaughter's birthday. Sis is doing SW too so I was pleased. She made pasta in a tomato sauce with peppers, chicken & bacon. [used my h.es for the chicken and bacon] She also had a party for the birthday girl, but I managed to leave having consumed just 1 green jelly baby!!

I then did an hour spinning class... it half killed me. She ended with 40 sit-ups/crunches.. I swear, byt Friday I had aches in places I never knew existed.

I text sis later that night to thank her for dinner & she said she forgot to tell me there was 7 syns in the sauce!!!!! (It was chicken tonight spanish sauce or something) I told her I would teach her how to make a free sauce!!

Friday was a strange day as I had pineapple chunks and grapes for breakfast. For lunch at work I had a tin of ravioli (free on green) and an apple. When I came home I made pizza for the kids (and ate the crusts) How many syns would you count for three pizza crusts? Then we went to see gran in hospital & weren't home 'til late....so my dinner was oat-so-simple [h.e] and a hi-fi bar [other h.e]

Saturday I didn't do too badly I think... breakfast/brunch was 1 slice bacon [h.e] scrambled eggs, tomatoes, 1 slice of bread [3.5syns]

Dinner was lovely delicious stir-fry... a bag of frozen mixed veg from asda (which was a one off for us as DH is a great cook & usually make most things from fresh but we were knackered & fancied some relaxation) some chicken [h.e] and noodles. All mixed with soy sauce (haven't checked syns for this but shouldn't be too bad) I didn't even have any alcohol as I was knackered & went to bed early!

Today has been OK so far.... breakfast was 1 pear, 1 apple, 1 plum, 1 banana, a handful of grapes and 2 fresh pineapple rings all chopped up & lobbed into a pyrex dish. I spooned some out & covered it with muller light. I still have some left for later.

Dinner is roast chicken, sw roasties, boiled potatoes, peas, carrots, brocolli & cauliflower....... for afters there's asda's arctic roll.... I might have to investigate the syn value in a slice of that!!

Sorry guys, I just come on here & spill mt guts about what I ate all week....forgive me!! I just find that I like reading other's menus & sometimes I get ideas...

Ria, was yesterday your weigh in day? How did it go? Or have I missed it> Will re-read below!!

caykon · 25/01/2009 13:48

wall od silence - sounds like you had a hectic week.
Your week looks like a good one, the sauce and the pizza won't harm as it looks like they are the only syns you've had.

Soy sauce i believe is free ( or at least I use it as that so I hope it is)

I am such a pig in comparison I would need much more food each day, but yours all seems within the plan so well done.

sep1712 · 25/01/2009 15:32

jaffa: see i did listen to you about the pizza! Whens your birthday? I'll post you some goodies as a prezzie!!! Where do you live?

Caykon, WOSil your doing very well, I'm not so godly, had a lovely indian takeaway last night. Mil did bring me a bottle of lamrini light only 40 cal for 125ml but i've had stronger apple juice yuk!!! I did choose well, had a small plate and didn't go up for seconds so hopefully i'll get away with it.

Has anyone seen RIA, ria oh ria. Have you been name changing again???

My plan for today is:

2 weetabix (heb, milk (hea)

Veggie roast diner lots of veg and spud.Plus 2 yorkies (syns)

Cheese on toast (hea and b)

Snacks muller and friut.

Big weigh in in the morning, can't wait i've been so heavenly!!!

caykon · 25/01/2009 15:44

Today my day hasn't been so good. I've not been off plan but also not eaten much.
I decided today to sort out all the loose recipies I've got around and put them in folders, and in particular look for some SW friendly ones.
So far I am onto large ringbinder 3, but 1 of those has recipies that I can safely eat on plan so thats good.

Bad side i have got so engrossed that I have only eating 1 apple, 1 bannana, 1 pear, small amount of pineapple and picked the chicken from the carcuss of left over roast in the week. I need to make sure I eaat regular.

I did put a casserole in slow cooker before i started, thank goodness, so have a nice dinner. Put in browed lean beef, baby onions, brussels, mushrooms, some bovril stock and in chopped tomatoes. Will make some new potatoe roastes to go with.

sep1712 · 25/01/2009 15:50

You are getting organized arn't you! Fancy coming to our house? We have it on the market and very tidy but do not open a cupboard or a draw as there cramped!

caykon · 25/01/2009 17:29

I am trying to make this diet a permanent change to the way I do things, so whilst the initial enthusiasm is with me, I am trying to do everything I can to make sure I stick with this. I mqy have organised my recipes but I have to make sure I now use them and not slowly slip back into bad ways.

MmeJaffaB · 25/01/2009 20:00

sep, thanks, I'll be super slim by then though I'm in France btw, moved here 4 yrs ago, love it, but do miss a UK supermarket for SW friendliness. Between my parents and us we probably get back 4 times a year so tend to stock up then.

RIA where are you? Come back we miss you! I may have to stalk you round the board. Hope you are OK.

And Buda?

Weigh in tomorow, not been as good this week, I don't think, haven't been really naughty but don't feel quite as disciplined. Hoping for a pound.

Oh I did get my goal for this week completed though, weather cleared up yesterday so ran in the afternoon and again this morning. It's getting easier the running each time.

sep1712 · 25/01/2009 23:03

jaffa good luck with the weigh-in. Where abouts in france are you? We have been looking at villas, any recomendations? I'v never holidayed there so we thought we might give it a go in summer hols.

MmeJaffaB · 26/01/2009 08:34

We are in the Charente....SW France. If you fancy a beach then head South West, La Rochelle/Bordeaux etc.... you can't go wrong, it's a beautiful area. We are about an hour from the coast though.

MmeJaffaB · 26/01/2009 08:36

Oooooops I forgot to say...... half pound on Been a crap week all round for me though, didn't go off the rails but probably didn't eat enough of the right things. Feeling better now so here we again.

Another day is here!

jaffa 1/2 a pound is not too bad, easy to get rid of plus a bit more wity a good week.

Both my dc have had bad colds and sore throats for a few days now and I think I am getting it too It might explain my lack of appetite yesterday, I hardly ate any of my dinner, but dh is pleased as he has taken it to work for lunch.

Think I'm going to have another red day today
so far only had pinapple, kiwi and a banana

I think I saw a recipe for a pork chop casserole yesterday in my sorting so miigh put that in the slow cooker in case I feel too drained to cook dinner tonight, not sure about lunch yet, it really doesn't help not feeling great, but I must stay focussed.

I have avoided weighing myself this week and am already getting nervous for wednesday!

Caykon: Your poor children, bless. Hope they don't give it to you!! Your bound to have lost on wednesday, you have been very good.

Jaffa: Chin up dear. I'm sure you'll have a great lose next week. Stick with it. Just picture what you'd like to look like at target. After the week you have had i'd be pleased with 1/2 lb.

Can i just have a little brag?? I lost 3 lb this week. thats 8 so far. Would love to loose 6 more by valentines day. Have a weekend away planned, without children!! Would love to be a stone lighter than i was from christmas. Going to treat myself to a bit of pampering in prep for the weekend if i achieve it.Maybe a new dress, but we are feeling the pinch at the mo so we'll see.

I have definately got the bug!!
Really struggling with everything, still sat here in p.js having only eaten a banana and mullerlight today. stomach grumbling but don't know what to eat. I know I should but don't really feel like food. Going to try my best to keep my willpower and be good.

dearprudence · 27/01/2009 14:05

Well done Sep.
Don't worry about the little gain Jaffa - half a pound is really neither here nor there. So sorry to hear about your neice. I can't imagine how scary and upsetting this must be.

Caykon - I wish I had your enthusiasm! I'm far too easily tempted. Last night I got home from work and DH had made a lovely SW tea but I had to go straight out (literally had one minute to put my lippy on) to a school meeting in the pub, and ended up having a glass of wine and nearly a whole grab bag of crisps - I was just starving . And then I had my tea when I got home at 10pm.

Any tips for keeping up the motivation? It's our 10th wedding anniversary this summer, and my mum is getting married in June - I'm only 1 1/2 stone away from target so it should be achievable.
