⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

CinnamonSweet73 · 30/06/2026 11:37

Signing in for July! I'm on holiday for the second half of the month so looking to have a couple of weeks of good nutrition and movement before I go! And of course not go crazy while away!

Good luck everyone with your goals ❤️

Farla · 30/06/2026 11:55

I'm in! I've been trying to lose about 3-4kg for ages now but it seems very stubborn! Since January I've eaten mainly vegetarian, mostly home cooked food, no alcohol Monday -Thursday. since May, stopped all chocolate and sweet treats (I've had the odd slip but mostly held on)..since this week, I've dropped milk from my coffee...I walk about 40min- 1h every day and do little yoga 3-4times per week...I've lost about 1kg...not sure why it's so hard! Must be my middle age, lol!

Rosetime · 30/06/2026 12:09

Thank-you @TheRealHousewife .
Here for July.
I came off track on the last day of the heat - overeating and not working out. I had not done any workout yesterday or strength training.
I am upset with myselfd as i amkow struggling to get my head back in the game.

TealSloth · 30/06/2026 12:11

Signing in for July (thank you for reposting the link!)

There are four weeks in July. If I can carry on this good streak, and lose 3-4lbs I would be thrilled. We are away again on the 10th August, and would love to be hitting 13 st as we go away!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 30/06/2026 15:43

Hello!

BreakingBroken · 30/06/2026 18:03

checking in for july :)

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/06/2026 18:24

Signing in for July, I lost 4lbs in June which I’m pleased with even if it isn’t loads, I bobbed around yo-yo-ing alL month. It’s my birthday mid July which will inevitably derail me, but it’s less than 6 weeks til my holiday now so I am determined to lose half a stone (or more) by then

Sunflowers83 · 30/06/2026 18:53

Hello. I joined this group part way through June, but then only managed to post a couple of times. I hope to be more active on here during July.

I weigh every day and use Happy Scale to track the trends. I can have huge fluctuations day to day, so I think I’ll use my Happy Scale ‘moving average’ for what I record on here.

Weight when joined June thread (16.06.26): 8st13 (went up to 9st1 the following week - the heaviest I’ve ever been!)

Weight today: 8st11.5

Target weight: Not sure? I’ve spent most of my adult life around 8st, but main aim is to lose tummy fat!

I was 8st this time last year and have gradually gained a stone over the last year and not sure why (other than my age -43). The wake up call was a few weeks ago when I realised all my summer clothes are too tight.

I’ve been doing Caroline Girvan weights workouts for a few months and am more focused on improving my body composition than necessarily hitting a number on the scales. I don’t mind if I don’t get to 8st, but want/need to lose some of this extra fat!

moondip · 30/06/2026 19:06

Signing in. Thanks @TheRealHousewife for the new thread, and thanks everyone for your kind messages earlier 😚

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 30/06/2026 19:29

I've lost 4lbs in June, I'm happy with that. Still 14 stone 11. 14 is still my goal for now- that'll get me to BMI 29.

Doseydots · 30/06/2026 19:42

I would like to join please, I am 53, in peri menopause and recently been diagnosed with an under active thyroid. I put half a stone in the last 6 months despite eating the healthiest I ever have and joining the gym.

My goal is to significantly reduce my sugar intake, lose a few pounds and at the same become stronger. It will be good to come on here for a little support and accountability.

Hi i have thyroid issue it takes longer to loose weight. I have issues with my eating. Am traying to portion control. If I stick to it then am able to loose weight. Unless its not possible.

10kstepsaday · 30/06/2026 22:28

Signing in for July 👋
Lost 2 lbs in June. Hoping for 3 lbs loss in July.

My plan is to move most days, including at least 10k steps, avoid the junk food and focus on nourishing foods, lots of water! AND have a POA for social events to avoid things going pear shaped.

Rosetime · 30/06/2026 23:00

@moondip , really sorry to read you are not feeling too great. Mastitis is horrible, wishing you a speedy recovery from it. Look after yourself.

Welcome @Doseydots , wishing you success for your July goals.

@DreamingOfGeneHunt and @thenewaveragebear1983 congratulations!!🎉 on your June losses. That's great.

I have completed an entire month with being consistent with keeping healthy - watching the calories, some form of movement +/- strength training, increased water intake, increased protein and improving sleep. First time i have been consistent everyday of a month. I am really pleased. Now it is to be consistent every day for July.
How long does it take to form a habit/make changes to your life that will be permanent? 6 weeks? 3 months? Longer?

WhatMaggieDidNext · 30/06/2026 23:01

Joining for July. Will weigh in the morning, but have around 2.5 stone to lose…

Doseydots · 01/07/2026 06:03

@Rosetime a full month is amazing, I struggle to last more than 3 days, I am going to take a leaf out of your book for July. Do you feel amazing?

I weighed this morning at 10st 13lbs.

Doseydots · 01/07/2026 06:05

Ps forgot to add @Rosetime I reckon after a full month those habits will be ingrained 🤗

Fellsbells · 01/07/2026 06:15

First wow of the month and I’m 3lbs down from last week. A combination of letting go of retained water and the whoosh from being consistently in a calorie deficit for 6 weeks.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 01/07/2026 06:25

Good morning, and thank you @TheRealHousewife for the new thread.

woW is 66.7kg this morning, so broadly maintaining. Didn’t manage OMAD this week as I had a weekend away but it was fairly sensible food-wise.

Good luck WoWers!

Tigercat14 · 01/07/2026 06:38

Signing in for July. Tried and failed on wegovy. I have ideally 2 stone to lose and am due to have surgery next month which is going to limit my mobility.

LemonDrizzle23 · 01/07/2026 07:07

Morning WOWers. Can’t believe we’re into July!

Starting weight for July is 13st 7.6. I genuinely can’t remember the last time my weight was this low. Definitely pre-pregnancy, so at least 9 years ago! I am now absolutely itching to see a number starting with 12 on the scale.

Hoping to lose 3-4 lbs this month, but aware the school holidays always make that harder!
