⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

15 stone again.

LemonDrizzle23 · 08/07/2026 07:49

Morning WOWers.
@10kstepsaday Im sorry about your bad news. In a similar situation last year I did lots of walking and listening to podcasts, and ate lots of salmon and avocado for my brain. I think it helped.

I don’t like to weigh in the middle of a heatwave 😂 so I’m sticking with Monday’s positive result which was 13 st 6.4 - a loss of 1.2lbs and a total of 30lbs off. Woohoo!

SW: 15 st 8.5
CW: 13 st 6.4
Next goal: 12 st 12 “Overweight”

We’re away this weekend and will be eating out for every meal, so I think next WOW will be up 😬 So I shall just enjoy this one for now!

RoseInAPot · 08/07/2026 08:03

I’m using my Happy Scale trend weight, and started on 24th June (2 weeks ago) with a weight of 66.5kg.

This morning after weighing my trend is 65.7kg (actual weight this morning was 65.4kg so still heading in the right direction).

Next milestone is 65.2kg with a predicted date of 16th July.

I have averaged 1600 calories per day over the last 7 days so higher than last week but still gradually losing. According to the trend I’ve lost 0.8kg in total in 2 weeks; I would like to accelerate the loss a little bit so clearly that extra 130 cals a day has slowed me down slightly. I’ll try and keep under 1500 this week. Cutting out a snack would do it.

Long term goal is 58.5kg but I would be delighted to be anywhere below 60kg (I’m fairly short, 1.61m)
Lowish carbs, counting calories, logging on Nutracheck.

IceLollly · 08/07/2026 11:42

Weight is slightly up but it’s so bloody hot so not surprised so recording my lowest this week

SW:89kg
CW: 77.7kg
GW: under 70kg

next happy scale is 77.6kg

ChunkyMonkey36 · 08/07/2026 11:51

1lb up this week. It’s the first time I’ve gained since March.

But honestly, I’ve already let myself off. The last few weeks have been very stressful (house move and son’s behaviour off the wall) and I’ve been either convenience eating, or eating stress carbs.

I actually expected worse!

LemonDrizzle23 · 08/07/2026 20:20

Well in the name of WOW, I tried on an old top that I bought in 2019 when I was going back to work after Mat leave. It now fits for the first time in yonks. So apparently I was about 13.5 stone a year post-partum and just pre-covid. This is definitely the weight to beat!

10kstepsaday · 08/07/2026 23:36

Thank you @Doseydots and @LemonDrizzle23 💖
I have been doing lots of steps for sure trying to keep busy and distract myself. Salmon & avocado - noted for next weeks food shop, thank you.

Well done on all the losses!

I weighed this morning and have lost 2lbs since 30th June.
Possibly a stress loss/fluctuation. TBC!

SW: 10 st 8.6 (1st June)
CW: 10 st 4.6
GW: 9 st 7

Doseydots · 09/07/2026 05:49

Good morning, I am having such a healthy week but those scales just aren’t budging. I am blaming the heat. I get really puffy in the heat so I am taking water tablets during this heatwave.

I am also signed up to Do Health. It’s set up by Dr Ragan Chatterjee. I had my first blood test at the start of the year. That picked up my under active thyroid. I had previously put my tiredness and other symptoms down to perimenopause.

I have my second lot of blood tests tomorrow, it will be interesting to see if anything has changed.

namechangefor2mins · 09/07/2026 09:08

Was feeling discouraged as I felt I looked the same despite weight loss but took a waist measurement and it has decreased by 3cm so feel encouraged by that. Legs do feel firmer from incline walking at the gym but upper body is falling behind.

SW 14.4
CW 13.11
GW 10+
So 1lb off again - 7lb in 7 weeks

LemonDrizzle23 · 09/07/2026 18:28

Oh my god this heat is bullshit. Still 33C at 6:30pm.
DS was awake til gone 9pm last night.

I currently have an ice pack tucked underneath each armpit, as apparently it’s a good way to cool yourself down... The hotel this weekend had better have air con!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 09/07/2026 20:01

It's "only" 29 here but so bloody humid. We've all just had a cold shower. Dog included.

Mash88 · 09/07/2026 22:47

Hello, first time posting but been watching since May and trying to read and keep up with the posts.

Im loosely following SW, do not agree with everything but it’s helped with my portion sizes and I’ve currently lost 1 & half stone. My focus is on whole foods and finding ways to move my body that I love. Swimming, Zumba and body pump.

First WOW yesterday and I’m down 2 pounds from last week.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 10/07/2026 05:34

Welcome mash!

Bufftailed · 10/07/2026 10:06

Had a bad week last week, but am back on it now. Have dropped 0.2 kg this week. Every lose counts in my book!

DreamingOfGeneHunt · Yesterday 10:14

Morning all!
Back to 14 stone 11 today. Just had a bowl of raspberries and gooseberries for breakfast from the allotment and feeling very virtuous.

IceLollly · Yesterday 10:17

Sure the heat makes me heavier, slightly up this morning when was looking for a good loss. Oh well.

I feel the same. It’s like the heat is bloating me

FridayNighFeeling · Yesterday 13:19

Hi, still here, I am feeling like a pufferfish or something in the heat!

Life stressful - work, kids, finances - I'm sure like everyone else and it makes sleep heard to come by too! Not weighing any time soon.

In awe of anyone posting losses at the moment!

Kitchenbattle · Yesterday 13:25

Oooh can I join. I started eating 16:8 and low carb a month ago and I have already lost just over a stone. I’m at 55.7kg right now and would love to get to 52-53kg. I feel like this last bit is going to be hard to lose! (Age 41)

Fellsbells · Today 00:21

Trying to find the balance with eating some non healthy foods after a strict few weeks. I had a take away tonight and now hoping it doesn’t trigger the start of bad habits. Feels like an addiction.
