⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️ Weight Loss, Wellbeing & Motivation Thread To Support Healthy Habits.

Following on from LOSE IT! Joyful June 2026

Here we are with our July Jumpstart LOSE IT! Thread. To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a trim body) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great!

Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable) that’s based on several sensible principles including:-

  1. Eat a variety of real whole foods such as fresh vegetables, salad, berries, beans, nuts, eggs, lean meat, good fats etc.
  2. Reduce sugars, simple carbs, alcohol and UPFs.
  3. Plan your meals & log your intake. Also be mindful of portion control.
  4. Intermittent fasting - research suggests (Zoe study) that adhering to an eating window of 10 hours can have a positive effect on health, wellbeing and weight loss. I personally have a eating window of approximately 7hrs - 12:00 - 19:00.
  5. Stay hydrated! 💧
  6. Move as much as able. Particularly strength based exercise. Muscle keeps you strong as well as revs up your metabolism.
  7. Get the fibre in! Great for your gut biome as well as 💩
  8. SLEEP! Good sleep hygiene and a regularly sleep routine can be beneficial to weight loss. I’m always more hungry following poor sleep.
  9. Be mindful about your own mental wellbeing and try not to eat your feelings. We’ve all been there!
  10. Be kind to yourself! ❤️ One or two slip ups won’t undo all your previous efforts. Just check-in with yourself, reinforce your good intentions and carry on!

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone.
After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lbs.

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Any recipes/workouts that have worked for you, you’d like to share?

Morning all!
Back up to bloody 14 stone 13!!!! Could be period on the way but it's so frustrating.

I've been on this diet journey for two years and I still look awful. Still obese. And saggier! Sometimes I wonder if it's worth it, I'll be even saggier if I lose more weight, I'll never look nice again. And I'm not even losing anything most weeks!

Ugh. Rant over. As you were.

IceLollly · 04/07/2026 09:28

I got all the 7s today - 77.7kg. Happy Scale still saying I won’t get my next target for 2 weeks (77.6kg).
Holiday in 6 weeks, want to be at least 75kg.

Fellsbells · 04/07/2026 10:35

@DreamingOfGeneHunt sorry today’s a bad day. Weight loss is crap!

I’m still on a whoosh, uncharted territory so not sure whats happening or how it will look long term. I am below my new target and in a new stone bracket that I haven’t seen for 20+ years.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 05/07/2026 08:28

Still 14 stone 13.

TheRealHousewife · 05/07/2026 13:27

Good Afternoon Everyone and thank you for your kind words x

It’s been a busy week with family and other affairs. The funeral we went to wasn’t a close family member but nonetheless much loved by all who knew her ❤️.

What’s the opposite of a whoosh? As that is what I’m experiencing 😮 @Fellsbells can you share your whoosh with me please? 🙃

@DreamingOfGeneHunt I can truly sympathise. I’m the same. Try not to get discouraged although I know that’s easier said than done. I’m not sure if you can exercise or not but if you can, strength based exercise (light weights or bands) will help firm and grow your muscles. This will help to support your skin/flesh and muscle also burns more fat. Results aren’t instant and consistency is your friend ❤️

Weight creeping up and diet as good as it can be. In my case I think it’s my thyroid. I’m reluctant to go the GP as yet as they’ll want to increase my thyroxine and I’m not wanting to do that. I’ll give it another month or so and then reevaluate.

@socks1107 That sounds a very sound and sensible approach 👏 Enjoy your holiday 🏖️ x

Menu
Meal 1 - Soufflé Cheese Omelette & Salad. Greek yoghurt and pecans.

Meal 2 - Undecided but could be Spicy Cauliflower soup.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee, hibiscus tea & water.

Hi just checking in for the first time in a while. Scales today are 2lbs up from lowest, so still a respectable -27 1/4lbs lost. Period has gone, heat has been stable, so I think that's a fairly accurate reading before the next bout of hot weather. The aim this week will be not to eat everything in sight with stress and hopefully things will feel more settled here to allow for that. Our holiday is coming up too so a tricky time to navigate.

Gym yesterday and tomorrow - a sweaty mess for sure at the moment when in tere!

LemonDrizzle23 · 05/07/2026 16:40

Well this is our last cool day today - and by cool I mean 27C! Every day for the next week will be over 30C, so whilst im going to carry on tracking calories, I’m definitely expecting some kind of heat bloat. Apparently it’s a real thing - your body retains water to combat the heat and dehydration. It’s definitely not the additional ice creams 😂

LemonDrizzle23 · 06/07/2026 06:59

Well I have woken up to my next target this morning - I am officially 30.1lbs down! Can’t quite believe I’ve lost that much. I can see it a little in clothes, although I struggle to notice that I actually look any different. I assume my brain will catch up at some point.

Next goal now is officially “overweight” 12 st 12, which is now 8lbs away. Good luck in the heat today every one!

Brilliant, wow! What a milestone.

Will try for OMAD today. Let’s see what the heat does to my appetite.

I’m just behind you, I’m also on the cusp of overweight. Just over a kilo away. I’ve lost 26 pounds and although stuff feels baggy and I know I’m thinner I just don’t see it yet which is nuts.

Doseydots · 06/07/2026 07:58

Well done @LemonDrizzle23 thats amazing.

i have woken up to an increase on the scales but I have had a heavy weekend. Back to it now. I am heading into work and really hoping there are no treats today.

DreamingOfGeneHunt · 06/07/2026 08:08

@LemonDrizzle23 that's great!

I'm 15 stone again todaySad.
@TheRealHousewife exercise-wise I'm on my feet all day at work, walk to work, and at work I'm lifting huge pans and dishes so I don't have energy for much else.
It's quite hard to stay motivated after two years and still being obese!

TheRealHousewife · 06/07/2026 09:07

Good Morning Everyone… Well done England 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿👏👌

Im not a football fan per sa but you can’t help but get carried along with the excitement. My other half cheered that loud that I practically fell out of bed and our beloved pooch 💩. There do say 💩 is for luck so here’s hoping it carries on for England when they play Norway 🇳🇴

@DreamingOfGeneHunt Bless ya’. There is also such a thing as Heat Oedema as I’ve recently discovered myself. So that could also be impacting on your lack of loss. Have you discussed this with your GP? In my case, a couple of years ago, after a blood test I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid. Look after yourself 💐

@LemonDrizzle23 Congratulations 🥳 You've done darling, you’ve gone and bust that 30lbs loss milestone. Awesome and inspiring in equal measure👏👏👏👏

Welcome back @FridayNighFeeling ❤️

Thank you for all the lovely comments 😊 It’s taken a long old time, but slowly is better than not at all! I’m going to have a look online at the health benefits of losing 30lbs, as I’m sure there are many.

@IceLollly It’s bizarre that your brain can’t tell when you look at yourself isn’t it? I caught a train into town today and I could feel that I wasn’t take up as much room in the seat, so I know it’s just my brain being slow. My body has definitely shrunk!

TheRealHousewife · 06/07/2026 16:35

@LemonDrizzle23 This was from a quick search:-

Losing 30 pounds reduces strain on your joints, improves cardiovascular health, and balances blood sugar. For many, this drop significantly lowers the risk of type 2 diabetes and heart disease, while making daily activities like walking and breathing much easier.
Shedding 30 pounds brings a wide range of systemic improvements to your physical and mental health:
Joint Relief: Every pound lost relieves up to four pounds of pressure on your knees. This dramatically reduces osteoarthritis pain and mobility issues.
Heart Health: Shedding excess weight lowers both blood pressure and LDL ("bad") cholesterol, while raising HDL ("good") cholesterol.
Metabolic & Diabetes Protection: Losing 10% to 15% of your body weight significantly improves insulin sensitivity. It can also help patients with type 2 diabetes achieve remission and lower their need for prescription medications.
Better Sleep: Extra tissue in the back of the throat can obstruct breathing. Losing weight reduces this, which frequently leads to improved sleep apnea and less snoring.
Reduced Cancer Risk: According to the American Heart Association, carrying excess weight is linked to higher risks of several cancers. Weight loss can help mitigate these risks.
Improved Libido & Mood: Losing weight can balance hormones, boost testosterone production, and increase self-esteem and energy.
If you are planning to start a weight loss journey, could you tell me what your main goals are (e.g., getting more active, lowering blood pressure, or managing a condition)? I can then help tailor some safe, manageable first steps for your routine.

You’ve done yourself the world of good 👏👏👏👏👍🥳🥳🥳🥳

Lovely @LemonDrizzle23 what a wonderful way to start the week!!
@TheRealHousewife the 30lbs weight loss benefits is very inspiring thank you for sharing that.
Sunshine and an early morning swim; fitness happening. plan in place for good food choices.

Happy Monday everyone.

Doseydots · 06/07/2026 19:58

I’ve had a good day, kept up with all my healthy habits, didn’t touch the treats in the office, I rode my bike to work and had a yoga class tonight.

I feel so much better for not having a binge.

10kstepsaday · 06/07/2026 21:15

Hi All - hope all ok. Well done on the losses recorded! I haven't posted since the 1st (had some emotional family news and a heavy heart 😥) but have still been trying to plod along with the movement and healthy foods.

I also measured myself to compare since 1st June today and I have lost half an inch on my upper arms, half an inch on my waist, and 1 inch off my hips. Yay to that. My thighs are the same though...!

I also changed my lock screen to a recent photo of me sporting a lovely double/triple chin - keep the motivation going and gives me quite a fright every time I pick up my phone😅

Doseydots · 07/07/2026 05:46

Sorry you have been through it @10kstepsaday but also well done keeping up with movement and healthy foods. If you can keep it up during difficult times, then you have pretty much nailed it.

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/07/2026 09:03

@TheRealHousewife that makes for a good read! So many health benefits. Hopefully more to come!

Fellsbells · 08/07/2026 06:15

Wow is 1lb down this week. Still staying consistent with 1500 - 1600 calories a day and exercise of some sort most days. I’m close to where I want to be.

good luck wowers. Hope the scales are kind.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/07/2026 06:21

Morning! Great work @Fellsbells !

Maintaining here, 66.8kg. Within goal weight, all good.

Sunflowers83 · 08/07/2026 06:57

Good morning all.
Well done @Fellsbells and @TheWayTheLightFalls

Check-in today using my Happy Scale ‘moving average’.

SW (16.06.26): 8st13
Current: 8st10.8
Target weight: ??8st?? (Lose belly fat!)

My actual weight on the scales was 8st9.5 on Monday and 8st11.5 today. So if I only weighed weekly I’d be disappointed today, but the daily weighing helps to see the fluctuations.
