Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Good Morning

It’s lovely to see so many of you posting, keeping accountable and making solid progress 👍👏🥳 I’ll be honest and say I’ve not read up on thread since my last posting but hopefully will.

Im back home now after a short stay in hospital after having what I’ve been told was a TIA Mini Stroke, don’t feel too sparkling but told no lasting effects. I have been referred to the TIA Clinic and I’ve been told I’m not allowed to drive until I’m discharged from that clinic.

Keep going and here’s to you all having a great WOW Day 🤞

I hope your alright and keeping well. Am sorry to hear that love. ❤️

Haemagoblin · 09/07/2025 11:57

Old fashioned?? I mean it's a unit of measurement, it doesn't stop working because it's old 😂

I tried to use lbs for a while as lots of american weight loss resources use them, but they don't MEAN anything to me as raised on stones. Stick with what works for you I say!

I use stones and pounds because that majes more sense to me. I don’t think it matters 🤣

That said I use km for running…

Well done everyone on the WOWs!
Welcome newbies 😁
@MarshmellowbunnyI am 30 yo and using st and lbs! I can't get my head around kg 🤣

Sorry to hear about the TIA @TheRealHousewifehope you are recovering ok! Strokes are so scary!!

It's not just me then! I really just can't visualise a KG 😂

Fellsbells · 09/07/2025 13:46

@TheRealHousewife wishing you well very soon 🌺

Marshmellowbunny · 09/07/2025 12:05

That's true. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. There's a few measuring things I use that he says are old fashioned but I can't remember them right now. He's from the South and he think it's a northern thing 🤣

He does say it playfully. Doesn't make it any less confusing! 🤣

I will stick with my stones and pounds 👍🏻 haha

I’m from the Commonwealth and have the opposite problem - can only compute kg and CM/metres rather than lb, feet and so on. Thank goodness the BMI calculator lets you choose, I’d battle otherwise.

I use an illogical combination of stone and kgs - I weigh and record first in kg then my little graph is in stone and lbs, as is my goal 😂

Sorry to hear about your health difficulties @TheRealHousewife - glad that it sounds as though you’re on the mend now

PreetyinPurple · 09/07/2025 15:20

I only use Kg as DH reset the scales to that as thats what the NHS uses, he likes to check he hasn’t lost weight.

Fellsbells · 09/07/2025 17:07

I’m firmly metric, apart from newborn babies and my weight. If you told me you had an 8kg newborn I’d nod and smile I’ve no idea what size that is. You lost 40kg, still no idea how much that is.

The only way I can vaguely work it out is knowing our big dog is 19kg and our little dog is 9kg.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 09/07/2025 17:13

44 new posts! I will come back and read them all later. Things are stressful at the moment when isn't it? so I had a slab of sticky toffee pudding and drew a line instead of going and what else can I eat? Today has definitely been more controlled and one of the issues has been resolved. Now just one big thing on the to do list for tomorrow that I'm worrying about 🙏

Did a quick mile with Leslie if anyone else is looking for something easy to do from home, this is definitely it, gets your heart going, works lots of muscles and the short ones are 15 minutes to do a mile (not just walking, side steps, kicks, leg curls and arm moves too)

Off to catch up with you all and hopefully lots of losses on WOW.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 09/07/2025 17:20

Gosh sorry to hear it @TheRealHousewife Take care and don't worry about the board!

Alwayslearning25 · 09/07/2025 17:44

I work in kg, but all other English people I know do pounds and stone. The 10kg was a bit of a landmark baby weight as both my babies platoues at the weight after a year. Well, my youngest it was actually 8-9 kg. I can't even remember how many pounds in a stone, it's such a random number.

QueenMabby · 09/07/2025 18:02

@TheRealHousewife- so sorry to hear you’ve had a TIA. Hope you’re feeling better and are taking it easy.

Marshmellowbunny · 09/07/2025 18:57

🤣 @Alwayslearning25 I don't really know how many pounds are in a stone either! Haha.

But I think because I was weighed in stones and pounds when I was younger I can sort of realise more how much I've put on. If that makes sense.

Hah I love the conversation and variety around this! Everyone is so different.

As I said before, I'm going to stick with my stones & pounds but I may occasionally use KG and it doesn't matter!

Well done to those of you that WOW today. 👏🏻

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/07/2025 20:48

Hello! Back from my hols and just wanted to get this on my threads I’m on. I am not doing WOW until next week. Going to need a few days to sort out the water weight after almost two weeks of Bavarian food!!

CraigLogansForehead · 09/07/2025 20:56

I have been MIA from this thread all week but feeing v guilty about it, so wanted to make sure and post today.

But @TheRealHousewifeI am so sorry about your health scare and it must be so frustrating not being able to drive. But it sounds like you are being well looked after so please try not to worry. I had a family member with something similar a long time ago so I know what a shock it can be. It ended up being a blessing in disguise for them and they got a full MOT and clean bill of health. Please just mind yourself and I hope the waiting for the clinic won’t take long.

CraigLogansForehead · 09/07/2025 21:06

I haven’t caught up on anything else yet but going to try to catch up tonight.

My week has been mixed. I’m 2lbs down which on paper is good, but I usually lose a lot more in my first week going back ‘on plan’.

Exercised 4 days and no alcohol which was definitely a struggle at times but I’m v happy I managed it. But calories and snacking are still v bad and I’m really struggling to quit chocolate.

I do feel generally better though - my head is clearer and I feel more rested. And my knees hurt less already too.

Keep going everyone next WOW is the middle of the month!

WearyAuldWumman · 09/07/2025 21:31

Sending you hugs and well wishes, @TheRealHousewife .

LegoTherapy · 09/07/2025 21:50

@TheRealHousewifehow scary, I’m
sorty you’re not well and hope you recover quickly with no recurrence.

I use kilos, stones and pounds and pounds interchangeably. Using kilos allows me to see the smaller losses along the way to achieving my goal. I weigh in kilos then convert it.

15 miles walked today on not a lot of food. 30g of oats for porridge this morning. Half a pot of red pepper hummus and breadsticks. A little dark chocolate with raspberries from M&S and some cantaloupe.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 09/07/2025 22:57

So sorry to read about your hospital stay @TheRealHousewife - sending lots of good wishes your way

StudyWasp · 10/07/2025 08:36

SW: 77.8kg/171.5lbs/12.3 stone
CW: 75.2kg/165lbs/11.8 stone
GW: 60kg/132lbs/9.4 stone.

Told my husband that kitchen was closed at 8pm and he's willing to stick to it with me. Got the idea from someone on here, so thank you!!

The day we both got ill he suggested a takeaway, and I said nope as I wanted to be healthy and also didn't want to wait however long it would take for the takeaway, so we had egg and chips. Not exactly the healthiest thing but much better than what we would have ordered!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 10/07/2025 08:37

I'm having some chia seeds mixed into my yogurt this morning, drizzle of honey and some raspberries. Lunch is going to be a egg mayo and ham/salad sandwich and tea is roast chicken with lots of salads prepped from M&S as too hot to cook/be in the kitchen.

Scales holding firm despite the Sticky toffee pudding incident. I too use kilograms and cm but that's also due to Southern hemisphere upbringing I think. Babies are definitely weighed in pounds Grin

FrothyCothy · 10/07/2025 12:19

I use every measurement depending on what app I’m in 😆 my scales app is kilos but MFP is st and lbs so I tend to look at both.

Was on a hen at the weekend, I am at least three times the size of the next smallest bridesmaid so I’m using that as my motivation to at least try seriously to lose weight ahead of the wedding - better late than never. I am a stone lighter today than I was this time last year, and that’s with intermittent commitment to the cause, so there is hope if I keep myself focused.

Off to the gym for third visit of the week, not sure I’ll get the extra steps in today due to the heat though!

LemonDrizzle23 · 10/07/2025 14:13

I had to laugh, as amidst this chat, I saw on Facebook that the local hospital midwife team had made a poster about all the babies that they had delivered in June. Including the heaviest baby, who was 5050g. My brain just couldn’t compute that as a size at all 😂

CraigLogansForehead · 10/07/2025 15:38

I’m another mixer of units but I like lbs at the moment as every tiny loss registers on the scale 😜.

I also weigh daily and was up 1lb overnight 🙄. Last night I had an old Slimming World recipe of fakeaway zinger chicken and sweet potato fries, but even though the calories are ok I always gain when I eat it grrr.

I really didn’t want to cycle this morning but as usual I feel so glad I did it and felt brilliant afterwards.

All of your meals sound SO good and tasty. My food is v boring so maybe that’s why snacking is still an issue for me. I don’t eat breakfast so had cereal for lunch and just fresh ravioli, tomato sauce and green beans tonight. And hopefully not a mountain of snacks 😬.

QueenMabby · 10/07/2025 17:33

Am back on the wagon today, some strawberries and cream aside! Have tracked that in my calorie log and although it will probably end up sending me over, I’m going to try and adjust dinner to make it a bit lower calorie.
mainlining water as much as possible.

edited for typo.
