Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

My DH is such a a feeder and came home with a blueberry cheesecake flavor donut for me which smells unreal. I might see if it will keep until weds lunchtime so that I eat it after WOW 🤔

LemonDrizzle23 · 07/07/2025 22:05

Thank you @LegoTherapy and @socks1107 Never thought in my early 30s that it would be a goal I needed to make 🤦🏼‍♀️ But a lot can happen in 7 years, and at least I’m going for it now!

Next goals are to see a 13 on the scale and reach a loss of 20lbs.

We can all do this!

@PatienceOfEngels as ever your meals sound delightful. I’m glad you’re feeling a bit more rested.

socks1107 · 07/07/2025 22:42

@PreetyinPurple my loss is quite slow but I’m now 16kg down. A loss is a loss keep going

StudyWasp · 08/07/2025 05:33

@frostedshreddie don't worry... Give the doughnut here, I'll eat it for you 😁 temptation gone!

75.8kg today! I've just had to cut my run short though as I'm getting sick...I can't catch a break at the moment! Might be a double coffee morning.

Did tell myself that I can get a little treat for having a healthy week, so that is my motivation.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/07/2025 06:09

WoW is 74kg, so 1kg under goal. Which I am happy with given my week.

LegoTherapy · 08/07/2025 07:21

@TheWayTheLightFallsi see you’re a day early this week and I’m wowing too today.

55.75kg today! Or 8st 10lb! Very happy to be back in the 55 bracket.

have a great day everyone!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/07/2025 07:22

Oh god, it's Tuesday! Thanks @LegoTherapy . Well, fingers crossed I'm still under goal tomorrow Grin.

frostedshreddie · 08/07/2025 07:26

@studywasp🤣 sending you virtual donuts!!
Hope you feel better soon!

I did a WOT today, mainly bc I really want to eat that donut fresh 😆 so silly it really shouldnt matter!!
Anyway I am 1.4 lbs down this week:

SW: 10 st 8.0
CW: 10 st 0.4
GW: 9 st 7.0

So close to getting into the 9s!!!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 08/07/2025 08:13

I'm joining the early WoW'ers - 2.1kg down since starting with you all mid June... so just ignore the scales fluctuating and look at the overall trend is all I can say. That's 10% of what I want to lose Shock

PreetyinPurple · 08/07/2025 08:18

After complaining I am down 0.3kilos today to 87.2.
I got down to 68kilos pre pandemic.

Brilliant!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/07/2025 10:25

Had a very disrupted morning but just stopped into a local cafe for a lentil and courgette soup, for brunch I guess, and to sit in the sun.

SummerOak · 08/07/2025 10:30

Well done early WOWers, some really good progress there!!

Any recommendations for constipation, preferably in form of pills? Has anyone tried psyllium husk?

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 08/07/2025 15:43

@SummerOak Vit C or magnesium oxide - vit C chewables are easy - start with half a 500mg tablet and see what happens overnight.

AnonymousMum37 · 08/07/2025 20:24

I hit my goal weight last week. 150lb. I've been up and down between that and 153 since. I'm not sure whether to keep going or go for maintenance now. I go away in a couple of weeks and it's be nice to have a buffet buffer! 😁

TheWayTheLightFalls · 08/07/2025 20:30

@AnonymousMum37 I would set a "back on the diet" weight. Ie, if the scales show x, you're straight back on it with calorie counting etc.

I have also continued weighing every day and recording my weight, works for me to see patterns etc.

QueenMabby · 08/07/2025 21:35

I’m off the wagon. Badly.

WearyAuldWumman · 08/07/2025 21:40

Back to the gym today. Just did 6 mins HIIT fast walking on the treadmill, followed by the lat machine - lats, triceps and biceps.

Tried to see whether I could lift two 8kg weights at the same time for a 'farmer's walk', but didn't hold them for long - just a few steps away from the weight rack and back. (Trying to see whether I'll manage two bags at the airport.)

Finished up with two minutes on the SPARC machine set to 5.

Getting stressed over my trip abroad, so not able to get to the gym as much as I'd like. Sticking to sensible eating at the moment, but that will probably go out the window while I'm away.

socks1107 · 08/07/2025 22:34

Since Xmas I’ve had a smaller size piece of clothing as motivation and as I’ve got into it I’ve bought the next thing. So I fitted a dress this week and's the jeans I love I saw in vinted in a size smaller than I have so bought them.
they only fit 😂. A size 12!! I haven’t worn jeans for about six weeks so my others must be too big now and to say I was shocked is an understatement. I started wearing size 16 at Xmas ( and if being honey was pushing into an 18)
now need to find my next motivational price of clothing.

Sjanish33 · 08/07/2025 23:07

Hi Everyone

I hope I can join you - I started last Tuesday. I have had a bad year and a half after my DH passed away in 2024 I suppose eating healthy hasn't been foremost in my mind - I feel old and heavy - almost 57 and over 200lb!

I have cut out alcohol and I am calorie counting trying to keep to 1200 calories or less a day - I also walk and try to keep my steps up above 7000 and up to 12000 on a good day. I think my body likes its fat at this stage- 3lbs down on my first week - I would love to get to 150lb - so here's to July chipping away :)

WearyAuldWumman · 08/07/2025 23:14

Sorry for your loss, @Sjanish33 . I'm also trying to get fit after the loss of my DH - it's been 4 yrs for me.

I've only been using the 'Lose It' threads for a relatively short time and I find everyone here to be exceptionally friendly and encouraging.

Sjanish33 · 08/07/2025 23:18

Thanks Weary...I am your username :) It will be good to have somewhere to get a bit of support.

WearyAuldWumman · 08/07/2025 23:19

I'm also sticking to 1200 calories, @Sjanish33 . I use the NHS app to keep me on track.

LegoTherapy · 08/07/2025 23:33

@Sjanish33welcome! Im
sorry to hear about your DH.

anyone falling off the wagon, which I also did today by drinking lots of caramel Frappuccino, just get back on from the moment you realise you’ve gone off. It’s not the end of the world. It’s not even the end of anything at all, just a blip, and we are human and will have blips. As long as it all balances over the week it doesn’t matter. Life is too short to worry too much. As long as we are healthier than we were the day before today, then we are doing great. Healthy eating and lifestyle is a gift we can give ourselves.

I went out with Dd today and had a liquid lunch of caramel Frappuccino. Too many carbs but I’ve let that slide today. I’ll speak to the dietician on Thursday to see how bad these days off carb counting are. The recipes on the app they’ve sent me talk about carb units and that’s not how I work so I’m more confused. Nor do they state calories so I probably won’t use any recipes. They all seemed much higher in carbs than I thought they should be.

EasternEcho · 09/07/2025 04:31

Good morning all,

SW: 173.8
CW: 156.9
GW: 130 (I'd settle for 140 - high end of healthy BMI for me)

Checking in with my WOW at 156.9 lbs. Down from 159 last week. I was a bit afraid that I wasn't losing this past week as I feel heavy and bloated, but I did. The feeling could be due to my period coming, although with peri-menopause I can never really tell. It's all over the place at the moment. I'm still sticking to low carb + calorie counting, and weighing everything. No more guessing and eyeballing. At the start of this journey I added one Brazil nut per day to my intake, and it has brought my hair loss to a halt. Thyroid issues or selenium deficiency I'm not sure, but it certainly has helped significantly.

This thread has really helped me with staying motivated, so thanks all.
