Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

Well done all! I’m 2.5lbs down this week which I’m pleased with (it was 3lbs yesterday but I had a very enjoyable lunch with my mum and sister which included a jam doughnut - worth the half pound I think!). I’ve discovered my bathroom floor isn’t as flat as I thought though, as my weight changed by nearly 1.5kg just by moving the scales from one spot to another!

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/07/2025 08:55

Well done to everyone wow-ing today!

I appear to have put on 2.5lbs since Friday according to the scale 🤔 Im not quite sure I believe that. Have been keeping up the exercise and eating has been reasonable (I think!) Will see if it comes off over the next few days. Otherwise, bugger, I appear to have put on 2.5lbs this week!

Marshmellowbunny · 16/07/2025 09:24

As if it's Wednesday again already!
Well done that those of you that have lost and if you've stayed the same well at least you haven't put weight on!

SW: 67.85Kg
CW: 65.10KG
First GW: 60KG

SW: 10.9.6st
CW: 10.36st
GW: 9. 5st

I still haven't decided on my units 😂
This is all completely unrealistic lol. But I do want to be in the 9s eventually. I haven't been very disciplined and it's TOM so I have no idea how I'm down. It's probably just a fluke

Going out today and had to preorder and I've preorder pizza and chips 🤣 oh dear. Ah well..I've decided I'm not drinking my calories so I may as well eat them.

Going on holiday soon and I'll probably put it all back on. But it is worth it to feel better!

Coulddowithanap · 16/07/2025 09:30

Can I join in please?
After seeing some photos of myself recently that I look huge in I've got that push to make myself healthier and get back down to a normal BMI.

I've been calorie counting since start of July but only just found this group, so I thought joining can only be a good thing.

I'm aiming to lose 2lb a week.

So my starting WOW is 186.9
(Not sure what my target is yet but I want a healthy BMI as it's currently almost 28, and I want my clothes to fit comfortably again)

TealSloth · 16/07/2025 09:41

I've had a hard week this week. Feel so low. Done awful over weekend. My eldest is leaving primary and starting high school in September. Time has passed. Feel so scared at the same time am proud of her hard work. I hope she does well in her first year.
Becasue of over thinking and worrying my mindset has not been on myself or my fitness. I've not been on track need to pick up.

WearyAuldWumman · 16/07/2025 10:43

No longer in a calorie deficit or training until I get back from a trip to a family member's wedding. Just can't fit in everything.

Weight is holding steady at 14st 3. Only exercise has been working in the garden.

Tackled my tallest boundary hedge - it's cotoneaster that's been overtaken by clematis and ivy.

Tried to get it sorted out last year, but my arms were too weak. I've succeeded in getting it down to 7ft. (The stuff stretching for the sky was all clematis.) When I get back home, I aim to get it down a bit more. My garden bin is currently full. (It's part of the inner boundary and is about 6ft in width. The rest of the hedge is much lower. This is the section adjacent to the neighbour's brick shed and hides the view of their bins. I'll get it down to the height of their shed at the boundary - the roof slopes up towards their garden.)

I'm very pleased that I was able to reach high enough with the hedge cutter to get the job done. I tried previously, but simply couldn't do it. (Tried a kitchen stepladder and nearly broke my neck.)

Very happy that my arms are now strong enough. Also, my thigh muscles were strong enough to hold me steady. I definitely recommend weight training.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/07/2025 13:29

First post holiday WOW - I’m just over 10st 10lbs. So 4lbs up in three weeks! Getting back to nutracheck today and will re-start exercise too. Holiday was reasonably active, but it flagged that I really need to build my cardio back up as well as strength training. There was a steep hike that should not have left me out of puff as much as it did!

Fellsbells · 16/07/2025 13:55

I’ve downloaded Nutracheck. It seems much more user friendly than MFP.

My problem is I don’t realise that small changes make a big difference and it works both ways. I hadn’t exercised for a week. I’ve been more relaxed about portion size, snacking, upfs and sugar. Add it all together and no wonder my weight has gone up.

Now I need to reverse it by making small positive changes. Exercise and/or walk every day, no excuses. Don’t snack with my DC. Count calories. Consider the nutritional value before I mindlessly eat.

Alwayslearning25 · 16/07/2025 14:20

I just tried to log in nutracheck but my free trial has expired and there's a limit of 5 items a day...I guess I'll go back to myfitnesspall. I prefer the line graph to nutracheckbar chart for weight too. I've not paid attention to my diet in June and eaten cake and takeaways.. put on nearly a kg, but my period is due today so hopefully some will drop off. But I doubt a whole kg.

Also I've found an app called home workout I've started bodyweight excersice program yesterday.

PatienceOfEngels · 16/07/2025 14:58

Have I lost any weight? No!

Am I going on holiday tomorrow? Have I kept up my daily walking in nature and yoga? Do I feel better than I did this time last week? All YES!

Ready to eat lots of convenience food/takeaways but keep up the walking and yoga (we're 5 minutes from a beach for one week and rural for the second and I absolutely cannot wait). Have swimwear, frisbee and kites for the beach and a tonne of books. Have the OS maps for where we're staying and ready to hike. See you all in 2.5 weeks.

Bufftailed · 16/07/2025 15:12

Doh week I gained weight. But I put this down to holiday and water retention. Not a good week to start, although been quite active. Start 5:2 this week so hoping for better next week

I’ve stayed the same this week but not a surprise. I had a Chinese on Sunday and fried chicken on Friday plus plenty of Prosecco and cider. I really wish I could be stronger when I’m around other people and not give in to temptation. I’ve been eating really healthy since Monday, exercising and watching weight loss videos on YouTube for inspiration.

I went to a shopping centre at the weekend and I honestly didn’t recognise my reflection in the window. I’ve put on so much weight in the last year but have been in denial.

frostedshreddie · 16/07/2025 16:04

Welcome @Coulddowithanap! Photos are always unforgiving for me ☹️ good motivation tool though!

Hope you are ok @TealSloth

Today I had mango and watermelon for breakfast, leftover miso aubergines for lunch, and planning on chicken and rice for dinner 👍🏻

Thank you.

I went as low as 71.6kg / 11st 3 but regained some 🙄

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/07/2025 20:30

Enjoy your holiday @PatienceOfEngels

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 16/07/2025 20:33

Good day on the food front

B - boiled egg with toast
L - home made tomato and sweet potato soup, falafels, hummus, quavers
D - a brown rice keema dish

snacks - apple

Not so good on the movement front today (lots of time in car for work), but it felt like a positive step to get back onto nutracheck and eat well.

NothingTraLaLa · 17/07/2025 07:47

Have a lovely holiday @PatienceOfEngels

I’ve not posted for a few weeks, but there has been very little change, just fluctuating around 122lbs.

I’m finding it much tougher to lose weight this year than I did last year (lost then put back on half a stone) even though I don’t think I’m doing much different. My body is misbehaving in other ways though; my usually regular as clockwork 28-day cycle was 22 days last month. Is this menopause looming? I’m already on HRT and I won’t miss having periods one bit, but I’d rather it didn’t muck up my metabolism.

CW 122 lbs
TW 112 lbs

Daffydoll · 17/07/2025 09:09

Can I join please? I have been disappointed with recent photos. How did I get here??
Starting weight is 12st 4. First target is 11st 7. I hope to lose a pound a week.

Fellsbells · 17/07/2025 09:35

Welcome new joiners 👋🏼

Yesterday went well. I was within calories, wasn’t hungry. I’ve dropped 2.5lbs over night which will have been all the water I’ve been holding onto.

frostedshreddie · 17/07/2025 17:14

Day 5 (I think!) of no sugar etc. today has been first day I have been craving it. Eaten lots of fruit. Then googled "can you get fat eating too much fruit" 🤣
Think craving is reaction to tiredness as I didn't get to sleep until 2am last night and up at 6am. Boo 👎🏻 early night tonight!

I guess im back to the start

I didn’t weight on yesterday but managed to remember to today…

SW: 134.4lbs (9st 8.4)
CW: 127.7lbs (9st 1.7)
GW: 114lbs (8st 2)

socks1107 · 17/07/2025 23:48

I haven’t weighed this week as we’ve been on holiday. I will weigh tmrw and see what the damage is! But.. I felt so good on holiday, the loss of 31lbs has been such a change in my body so although I do want to lose another 20 I feel pretty good.
we are quite well, walked 25k+ steps a day and avoided cake until today!
