Following on from ☀️LOSE IT!☀️Joyful June 2025☀️

OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Summers arrived!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body. To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost around 45lbs. Currently I’m maintaining at 9st 2lb but I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! You'll be pleased you did 😊

After weekend of illness and inactivity I have lost 0.4kg (nearly a pound) so I am happy.
still coming off very slowly.
Sw: 89kg
CW: 86.6kg
TW: 80kg to start (I was 68kg a few years ago so around there eventually)

InterestedBeing · 15/07/2025 09:35

Can I join? This year got off to a flying start and I lost 5kg / 11lbs between January and April and now I've regained 2kg /4-5lbs.

I want to get it off for good.

LemonDrizzle23 · 15/07/2025 10:31

@LegoTherapy that is such a waste - can you imagine if they do it for everyone!

Im sorry you’ve found yourself in this position - it’s particularly galling given your healthy weight and exercise levels.

biscuitcat · 15/07/2025 10:40

@LegoTherapy the advice you’re getting does sound strange - has the dietician said why you’d need more fat?

LegoTherapy · 15/07/2025 12:46

The fat helps the protein slow down the absorption of glucose or something. And we need fat for certain vitamins. I’m pretty sure I get enough fat. And calories considering my weight is relatively stable.

PreetyinPurple · 15/07/2025 13:03

I’d take what ever they say with a pinch of salt. DH has been insulin dependant for 25 years (hereditary diabetes) and is well managed. He’s been told some utter nonsense and constantly changing advice over the years.
Lots of the diabetic nurses/dieticians didn’t understand his type of diabetes at all.

Hello! Back from my hols and just wanted to get this on my threads I’m on. I am not doing WOW until next week. Going to need a few days to sort out the water weight after almost two weeks of Bavarian food!!

Oo that'll be me in 3 weeks. We're going driving around Germany/Bavaria ahaha. I expect I'll eat lots of Wurst. Ah well. I'm just going to enjoy it!

Hope you had a good time and had some yummy food.

Alwayslearning25 · 15/07/2025 18:14

Ok, I need your help planning some excersice. Cardio is not too much of an issue. I live on a steep hill and just walking up that is cardio, esspecaly if I push a buggy. I do this just once a week though for the school run and have stopped in the heat. Hopefully cook enough tomorrow. Strength in lacking. My knees in particular suffer but arms are also weaker than they used to be and I'm only in my 30s. I have some 1kg dumbbells somewhere... I haven't managed to get into ringfit much allthough that is definitely an option, just need to nag my DH to get off his game, and not leave it paused. I'd like either app recommendations or ways they are incorporated into every day life. Im a believer in little regular changes in habbits.

Alwayslearning25 · 15/07/2025 18:16

Or maybe an online program. Id be open to something I pay for if it's good value and motivates me to stick at it.

frostedshreddie · 15/07/2025 19:20

There are tons of videos and free training plans on YouTube @Alwayslearning25
My faves are growithjo, Sydney Cummings, Caroline girvan, Heather Robertson, growingananas

Today I ended up doing an 18hr fast due to work being crazy and my 16h usual got extended. I then had a green smoothie and for dinner I had miso aubergine noodle salad which was delicious!! DH has come home with a big chocolate bar as a treat... 🤣 I have shoved it to the back of the cupboard to look forward to in 18 days when I finish my no sugar streak!

Alwayslearning25 · 15/07/2025 19:31

I think there's too much information for me. I'm struggling to narrow it down. I got a tailored plan from chat gbt but don't know all the excerses. May do ringfit. I have a list of excersices from my physio for hypermobile knees. When they were painful for 6 months I went through my GP...I could start there but it's just legs.

biscuitcat · 15/07/2025 19:55

@Alwayslearning25 could you ask ChatGPT for YouTube links of how to do the exercises you’re unfamiliar with?

@frostedshreddie that salad sounds incredible! Would you mind sharing the recipe?

frostedshreddie · 15/07/2025 21:52

@biscuitcatit was so good! I have leftovers for my lunch tomorrow 😋 I think it's just from a free Tesco magazine!!

Ooh, that sounds lovely! I have two aubergines in the fridge to use up so I’ll have a go.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 15/07/2025 23:55

@Alwayslearning25 have a look at Caroline’s circuits on insta. She’s pitching at women in their 50s, but, she does a lot of short strength routines that might be useful in getting you started and used to what different exercises are called.

Alwayslearning25 · 16/07/2025 05:32

Well, I'm less fit than my mum in her 60s, so that's worth a go. The NHS advice for excersice is the same for any adult from 16-65. 😂

dayslikethese1 · 16/07/2025 05:53

Fell off the wagon a bit with beer this week. I'm so itchy and uncomfortable from hayfever (my face is not happy, lol). Meals have been good though; made lemon coughetti last night 😋

StudyWasp · 16/07/2025 06:04

WOW: 73kg.

Stalled a bit but I'm so tired! Could be the fact that I could do with more sleep. Roll on the summer holidays, please and thank you!

EasternEcho · 16/07/2025 06:04

Good morning all,
My WOW: 155.7

W: 173.8
CW: 155.7
GW: 130

Just one pound loss this week and it has been steady for almost the full week. Definitely in a slow down or stall phase now. I don't want to reduce calories further but let's see what happens over the next two weeks or so.

Looking forward to reading updates.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 16/07/2025 06:30

—Double checking that it is actually Wednesday this time -

75.0 today, so maintaining OK. I reckon, periods aside, that my average weight is now nearer 74.0, so I am toying with actively trying to have that as my goal. We’re off on holiday soon so it may be one for after.

NorthDevonBeachLover · 16/07/2025 06:56

78.9 this morning, down from 79.5 last week, slow and steady wins the race, right?

LegoTherapy · 16/07/2025 07:07

Morning all. A disappointing 56.5kg or 8st 12lb this morning. Some might still be fluid from a salty carb heavy weekend.
I started using the continuous glucose monitor yesterday for fun rather than any seriousness as it’s a two week trial. My blood sugar readings have been completely normal so far with no spikes except for after a fig roll when it jumped to 8.1 but then came down within a few minutes so my body seems to be coping well with sugar from this snapshot. According to my googling my asthma treatment might be giving a false high reading on the blood test that said I was pre-diabetic. That and stress and years and years of steroids, having less surface area on my red blood cells and menopause. I think I might ask for a full blood count when I’m next at the GP to check the red blood cells again.
I’ve just checked the calendar and suddenly it’s only 3 weeks until we go on holiday to Cornwall and I was hoping to weigh less and be more toned but time has slipped away and I haven’t the energy.
Hope today is good to everyone.

frostedshreddie · 16/07/2025 07:21

WOW - 10 st 0.6 lbs
Which is a 0.2lb gain on last week, not great but not terrible. And it has been my TOTM this week so hopefully is a fluctuation on the way back down.

SW: 10 st 8.0
CW: 10 st 0.6
GW: 9 st 7.0

Well done on all the WOWs everyone :)
And keep going!!

Medee · 16/07/2025 07:28

I’m due for my 3 weekly weigh in today, but know last 10 days or so haven’t been very disciplined. There was the second goal event I was losing weight for and since then there have been more snacks and alcohol and less exercise. My third goal event is our holiday, this Sunday!

Fellsbells · 16/07/2025 08:15

Well done Wowers.

Hormones and eating with the DCs all week has seen an increase. Apparently icecream and endless carbs is a bad idea.

Back on it today!
