Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

I ate less than half the chips and curry. About 20 chips maybe. 7.56 miles walked. 2255 calories burnt, if my Fitbit is accurate. I know it’s accurate for distance

Tomorrow is a brand new day. Write off today if needed and just start again. Don’t thow in the towel and eat lots of snacks tonight though.

Orangetree42 · 03/06/2025 20:00

I’d love to join! I’ve been calorie counting for a month now and trying to be more balanced and healthy with my choices as my goal is weight loss but also an increase in energy. I’m exercising about 3 days a week but aiming to increase this and make sure to fit in a walk on my non exercise day. I started at 11st 11lbs and am down to 11st 6lb firmly. I’ve dipped as low as 11st 2lb but then had a bit of a yo-yo even though I was being pretty good so not sure what happened there! My goal to get to 9st 6lb as that’s where I was happiest and suits my shape. I’m working at being consistent with food. I like a drink at the weekend and think this is slowing me down but I don’t want to give up everything! I’ve given up wine which feels like a big sacrifice!

Today has been a busy day. Have put on a mask after a long time. Having cup of tea and 2 buiscuts for evening snack. Time to wind down.

Bit over on cals today, 1920, but 107g protein, 45 mins strength training and almost 15,000 steps, so all in all not too bad. Had a really stressful work day that usually would have sent me to the corner shop or the bread basket, but rode it out. Have meetings basically alllll day tomorrow so the desk treadmill is going to have to come in handy to get me moving!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 03/06/2025 21:56

Great to hear @TheRealHousewife !

LightGirl · 04/06/2025 02:04

WOW - 1.4 kg, I am thrilled 😍 calorie counting works you all.

EasternEcho · 04/06/2025 04:56

My weigh in today is at 170.5 lbs. 10 days ago I was at 173.6 lbs. Most of this would be water weight, but it is motivating. I'm sticking to my 1200 calories and 10,000 steps a day and weights 3 times a week.

I am not cutting back on carbs entirely but avoiding it during the day. I have some rye crackers with a small piece of cheddar at night to help me fall and stay asleep.

Cortisol I feel is a major factor in my body holding on to weight, and I need to look into addressing that.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 04/06/2025 06:10

Wow today is 74.7kg, so still happily in maintenance. BMI 23. Still find it a grind however! Need to: drink more, add in weights.

frostedshreddie · 04/06/2025 06:48

Morning WOWers
10 st 3.8 this morning which is a 1.2lb loss since last week.

SW: 10 st 8.0 (April 2025)
CW: 10 st 3.8
GW: 9 st 7 lbs

Well done everyone 😁

TwitchyNibbles · 04/06/2025 06:56

Had a fairly good day yesterday. Calories finished at 1490, did 14k steps and had a free 30 minute session with a new trainer at the gym, plus 15 minutes on exercise bike.

Weigh in shows 87.5kg this morning (down 1.3kg from where I started last week). Very happy with that to start with, though I'm aware it will likely slow down. I'm 5'ft 10 so to get back into the healthy range of BMI I need to get down to 79kg. That's my first goal and I'll worry about anything further when I hit that. At the moment everything seems very sustainable, just being much more mindful of what I'm eating and concentrating on adding everything to MFP. Have a lovely day everyone.

TealSloth · 04/06/2025 07:00

Hi am still in plateau. I have weighed my self and my scales have not moved for 5 days. Am sure after few changes scales will start moving again. It can be stressful when you don't see your pounds go down. Il try my best to keep on moving and eating right. Sometimes when your weight hits plateau it can bring you down. But with support and strong mentally am sure il get by.

LemonDrizzle23 · 04/06/2025 07:06

Well done to everyone WOW-ing this morning! Lovely to see you @TheRealHousewife and every one new joining us 👋

Ive stayed the same here after 9 days of half term, so I’m going to call that a win! Every other school holiday I’ve had a gain due to more food, less movement and just generally being out of routine. So this is an improvement for me.

socks1107 · 04/06/2025 07:13

1.5lb lost this week. I’m right on the edge of seeing a new stone bracket and a half a stone off my first goal. I’d like to see that by mid July.

SW 13.13
CW 12.1
GW 11.8

2in2022twoyearson · 04/06/2025 07:27

@Marshmellowbunny I have had a similar weakness for white chocolate

As with intermittent fasting, someone said they can't do it, then they have a 12 hours fasting window daily, that is a form of intermittent fasting. I started at 10 hours, up to 12, today I did 13 hours (haven't broken it yet) so I'll try to maintain that.

CW (3 day average, same as today's weight) 72kg
GW 65kg by 15th September.

QueenMabby · 04/06/2025 07:31

9st 7.2lb on the scales this morning. I’ve been as low as 9st 6.8lb in the last couple of days and to be consistently under 9 1/2 stone will be a milestone for me. Hoping for it by the end of the week. Office day for me today so will have to avoid the snacks!

mermadeincornwall · 04/06/2025 07:40

Not a good WOW today, so I'm not posting my weight.

Think I'm going to read/ post here daily for more accountability.

Well done everyone who's lost.

The Boden adverts are inspiring me as well as all your posts. I've pledged no more clothes until I've lost weight though.

Love the June thead @TheRealHousewife, 😍

I am not weighing either as I have been terrible so far for June. My holiday is 7 weeks time and I know if I carry on like this, then I will get to 4 weeks before the holiday and still need to be losing a stone. By then it will be too late. SO it has to be now or never. I will be posting a lot on here for accountability and getting all my thoughts and feelings out about food throughout June. Right now I am WFH in the kitchen, my DH is cooking himself a sausage sandwhich and omg I want one so badly. I keep reminding myself it's only 7 weeks and time is running out with every day that passes by.

I pigged out last night, when that happens I crave food the next morning to the point I feel sick if I don't eat a large meal again. The sickness feeling will pass. It will not win. I will have my total yoghurt (weighed) with fruit .. even though the smell of the warm sausages on a chilly and dullish day in London are the most appealing thing right now ...

LegoTherapy · 04/06/2025 10:04

My scales are being weird. I weighed more the second time I weighed myself today to check the weight. They had new batteries not so long ago. So I’ve no idea what my weight is today.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/06/2025 10:47

1lb up this week 🙄 3.5 weeks till holiday… I know being diligent with calorie counting and prioritising exercise works, I just need to do it!

WoodlandDragon · 04/06/2025 11:20

Happy to see such a busy thread! Coming back for WoW:
SW: 94kg
CW: 89.4 kg
GW: 75kg eventually, 85kg next mini-goal

So pretty much the same as at the weekend but with gallbladder drama I'll take it! Am still not right, hopefully will see GP today so will see what they say.

Good luck all, keep at it!

WearyAuldWumman · 04/06/2025 11:34

Only down half a pound. Annoyingly, the NHS tracker doesn't recognise halves.

I am losing exceedingly slowly. No surprise, since the last time that I had this much weight to lose it took me over 3 years...and that was 25 years ago.

I'm now lying to folk in RL and saying that I'm just building up strength - I'm getting tired of "Don't lose too much!" and "You don't want to lose any more!"

I'm still just within the obese category for the NHS BMI chart, for goodness sake, and I've always had skinny arms in relation to the rest of me. I keep getting "Oh, but you're tall..."

Came across a pair of trousers that I couldn't get into at 14st 10 in October (before I shot up to 15st 9 again).

At 14st 9 and half, I can pull them on while they're zipped up! (Yes, I do daft things when I'm checking weight loss.)

I couldn't fasten them in October. I have concluded that the SPARC machine has helped me to lose size from my derriere and my 'orribly fat belly has gone down a bit. My worst problem area is obviously my waistline.

So far as exercises are concerned, I'm still concentrating on the arms and thighs, though I now have two standing tummy exercises that I can do.
