Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

Weekend check in. Back to more sensible eating today and stuck to my eating window. After about 5 days of will it won't it, period has showed up too so hoping that will help things settle too. So hot and worse to come!

Hope DD enjoyed her prom despite the food @LegoTherapy that's very poor of them not to cater properly.

Keep going everyone, the scales will eventually catch up all of your hard work. We all want instant results, but of course getting to this point didn't happen over night.

mermadeincornwall · 29/06/2025 08:08

Thank you @BlueOysterCultGroupie, @LegoTherapy, @TheWayTheLightFalls and @SummerOak

My general diet is full of all the good stuff but it's chocolate and cake that are causing issues. I'll check but I think low levels of magnesium can make you crave chocolate. The cake is substitution for alcohol, as I've stopped drinking completely this year.
I'm definitely alot less active than I use to be, partly because of the weight 😅.
At the moment I'd be happy to loose one stone to get back to around 10stone.
When I was younger it was so much easier, cliche I know. I'm mid fifties now.
I'm finding it so hard to get started, once I see the scales moving down I'll be inspired to keep going.

Putting this into words has clarified my bad habits.

I will plan more doable things @TheWayTheLightFalls ,rather than trying everything at once. I think I'll look removing refined sugar first.

Shocker about the pre diabetes @LegoTherapy, I suppose if you weren't so healthy you'd have full diabetes .

Thanks again

biscuitcat · 29/06/2025 08:20

Hello all! Got back from my holiday yesterday and have weighed - 2lb up, which to be honest is much less than I was expecting! And actually, was totally worth it - the food was amazing (as were the wine and the aperol spritzes…) and I’d have been really disappointed to miss out on it for what is a fairly small weight gain that should hopefully be gone in another week or two.

Going to catch up on the thread later too!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 29/06/2025 10:01

Welcome back @biscuitcat ! 2lb sounds excellent. We're away in August and I expect a few kg up tbh.

Enjoying the overcast weather before things are due to get sunnier later. Had a later supper than usual yesterday but at a beautiful Indian vegetarian restaurant with amazing ingredients and not a curry in sight, so I feel like I ate well and probably managed 30 veg in one meal! The restaurant was so quiet for a Saturday night, I really need to get onto social media and rave about them.

Nothing eaten yet but I have every under-10 in the neighbourhood coming round here later so I think it'll be pizza and watermelon and not much else. Will try to stick to one alcoholic drink - my least favourite way to use calories!

Happy Sunday all.

LegoTherapy · 29/06/2025 10:30

Morning all. I’m going away in August and due to my many food issues will be eating mainly pizza or chips when we eat out. We are self catering so will now have to make eating out rare but I was looking forward to ice cream every day. I’m going to make an appointment to see the GP this week to discuss the pre-diabetes.

QueenMabby · 29/06/2025 11:11

Ooof. I’ve eaten 1500 calories worth of Maltesers over the last two days. Bloody time of the month.

Only 2 weeks until my holiday and I’d love to be under 9 stone 4 for it. I need to knuckle down this week. The problem is, is that ds is back from Uni today so dd is baking up a storm for him - biscoff rocky road, chocolate chunk cookies, lemon drizzle cake and home made ice cream. I’m doomed! 🤣🤣

LemonDrizzle23 · 29/06/2025 14:25

That baking sounds ridiculously good @QueenMabbyI’m not sure I would be able to avoid the temptation 😂
Sorry to hear your diagnosis @LegoTherapy how bloody annoying!!

We've had a couple of nights away which was lovely. Food relatively sensible, but too much snacking on chocolate! And absolutely zero movement because of the heat. My Apple Watch is making vaguely passive-aggressive comments about my lack of calorie burn… Wednesday it will be a sensible heat here again.

We go off on holiday in just under 8 weeks, so I am knuckling down now. Would be good to be a bit lighter for the heat! I’ve lost 10lbs in the last two months. Would be good to lose another 10lb before I go…

HazelNotHungryLC · 29/06/2025 16:04

I've been back from my holiday for just over a week now. While we were gone I gained 2.8lbs, lost it within 4 days and have just about gained it all back again since I'm apparently still in holiday mode 😩
I'm getting back on track today though! No more chocolate, no alcohol until Friday (Independence, day, I'm in the US and we're having a BBQ), lots of veg and water.
I know I can do this!
CW: 168.5lbs
GW: 155lbs
13.5lbs to lose, but most importantly, I want to look good in my clothes and swimsuits!

GrannyInTheGarden2025 · 29/06/2025 21:14

Spent a couple of hours in the garden early morning. Things went quite well today until the afternoon, when I was relaxing and went back to bad habits when at the supermarket.

Tomorrow, I'll plan better for the whole day.

socks1107 · 29/06/2025 22:41

I’ve been to a bbq and did well, no carbs, no sausage and I know I’ve gone over but doubt by too much

LegoTherapy · 29/06/2025 23:02

good day here. Forgot to eat dinner so under calories today. Carbs over the week are averaging 163 which is great considering the left over pizza, scone and cake. No exercise done today as it’s been a rest day. I’ve still eaten less than I’ve burnt according to my Fitbit and MFP. Here’s to a great week for us all starting tomorrow.

TealSloth · 30/06/2025 06:51

Hi all. I've had a heavy weekend were I've over eaten my food. Made pasta for girls ended up eating way too much. No exercise.
This week I need to be good and eat right and eat in my calorie range.
Its been a tough week last week. One thing after another had been taking place with me.
Need some good results this week and a better weekend next week.

mermadeincornwall · 30/06/2025 06:57

I'm going to track everything I eat and drink this week, including measure my milk out into a jug for my daily allowance.

I will stick to 1600 cals or less.

The chocolate I have is 80% cocoa or more, and 3 or 4 squares a week.
The cake however was purely a suger substitution for the alcohol.

I will also up my activity.

Have a good week everyone

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/06/2025 07:38

Good luck @TealSloth , @mermadeincornwall @LegoTherapy . Well done @socks1107 !

OK here. We had friends round and there was pizza etc but I don't think I overdid it on either food or drink and the scales are fine this morning. Plan today is no breakfast, early lunch of leftovers, plenty of cold rooibos tea and similar and something sensible for dinner. Fingers crossed!

frostedshreddie · 30/06/2025 07:51

Hey everyone
I did a few days 16:8 and then yesterday was a normal day of eating but I was ravenous so definitely went over!!
Never mind!! Back to 16:8 today.

Just realized it's July tomorrow!!!! June went fast!

TealSloth · 30/06/2025 10:26

Are we having July thread please thankyou.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 30/06/2025 11:34

@TheRealHousewife I know you will want to start a July thread but may just have too many plates spinning just now - I’m hoping this tag gets through to you, but if not I may ask MN to amend the title to a June/July thread since we have the space here (perk of us all getting smaller!).

LBB2020 · 30/06/2025 11:48

I’ve been terrible at keeping up with the thread throughout June but am ending the month at 11st so I think that’s 3lbs down which I’m happy with.
Hope everyone is well

Fellsbells · 30/06/2025 12:39

Send me a medal because I just had an almond milk smoothie instead of a mint choc chip cornetto.

Hello @TheWayTheLightFalls Apologies as I’ve only just seen your message. Would it help if you ‘unfollowed’ this thread and followed the July one. I hope things soon settle down for you ❤️

PS I rarely receive the email alerts for tags. I’ve discussed with mn and it still hasn’t changed fully. I occasionally get alerts 🤞Gremlins in the system.

Positives from this month are:-
I have run three times a week.
I haven’t binge eaten or gone totally off the rails.
I’ve averaged a slightly lower weight for June than May.
I have maintained pretty much the same healthy weight since April and not yo-yoed, dramatically which I tend to do. Rapid loss and rapid gain are not my friend!
I am more accepting of my body as it is. Losing the last half a stone will not suddenly make me happy or solve my problems.
I have bought nice new underwear in my current size.
I do not need to feel the urge to constantly make myself smaller. I am a healthy weight and that is enough.

WearyAuldWumman · 30/06/2025 15:17

Weight appears to be keeping steady.

Leg day today. 5 mins HIIT, 3 sets of 10 on low row. Accidentally set the weights to 35kg for the first set, which explains why my form was wonky... Lowered to 30kg for the next two.

Two sets on leg curl, leg press and leg extension. Got the weights up, but not managing quite the same load on the leg extension.

Had to bite my tongue not to yell in disgust at the sweat bloke who didn't wipe down one of the machines. (Paper towels and disinfectant are provided at the gym.)

TheRealHousewife · 30/06/2025 15:50

@WearyAuldWumman That would turn my stomach 🤢 As I’ve got older I seem to have less tolerance for those sorts of things … I’d have probably said ‘excuse me would you mind wiping the equipment down please as I’m wanting to use it’. That’s something else I’ve noticed as I’ve got older … my filter is somewhat broken 😅

@Fellsbells Absolutely fabulous post! Healthy and honest mindset! Congratulations and well done 🥳👏🥇

Ending the month where I started. So basically maintained for the 2nd or 3rd month running. I know I haven’t moved as much due to injuries etc but I don’t move that much to make any huge difference anyway so I don’t think it’s the inactivity. Therefore I’ve restarted Fast800 with an allowance of 1000 cals per day 🤞
