Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

My scales are being weird. I weighed more the second time I weighed myself today to check the weight. They had new batteries not so long ago. So I’ve no idea what my weight is today.

I often found myself hopping on, off and on again to check mine - they're an old pair of Tanita scales which supposedly give me my fat percentage as well.

TerroristToddler · 04/06/2025 12:08

WOW for me

SW - 141lbs
CW - 129.8 lbs
GW - 124lbs

No loss for me this week, but I'm back on it! Hopefully will be able to post a loss next time!

TheRealHousewife · 04/06/2025 12:22

@WearyAuldWumman I do a silly thing too 🤭 When I use the bathroom and can take a certain pair of jeans down without unbuttoning & unzipping I’m at goal. 👍

@myrightarmandleg ’Food noise’ is a distraction but you’re right to not let it win! I always salivate when my other half has hot buttered toast! Although I know I can’t have any as I’m celiac 😬. I’ve found being celiac can have a silver lining as i need to eliminate everything with gluten.

@TerroristToddler Overall you have lost oodles 😮 👏

@WoodlandDragon Sorry to read you’ve had gallbladder issues! I hope you’re soon better.

First WOW since I joined in May, with a target of some quick weight loss before a show im in (this Friday!)

14/5- 14 stone exactly
4/6 - 13st8lb.

pretty pleased with that, but is it the thing I’ve seen mentioned of water weight, whatever that is!

PrueLeithsChunkyNecklace · 04/06/2025 13:20

Afternoon all! I'd like to join please. I'm almost back to the heaviest I've ever been - I used to be pretty fit and active but illness and peri/menopause has done a number on me in recent years.

I tend not to eat breakfast and eat quite late in the evening, so aiming for an eating window of 9 hours. My other goal for June is to get back on my bike!

SW: 208lbs
CW: 208lbs
GW: 154lbs (first goal)

Endoftethermum1 · 04/06/2025 19:05

Here’s my second post so at least I didn’t do a one off and run away 😂
WOW 83.5 kg 168cm
I would love to get to 80kg this month
I started this week with planning my days food and being more mindful of what im eating.
Ive cut down snacks and increased fluids
like another poster I am mid 40’s with a sweet tooth and find sweet cravings so hard but had 1/2 a cup of instant hot choc to satisfy them. Any other tips welcomed!!

Marshmellowbunny · 04/06/2025 19:28

Just saw someone post about not just posting a one off and running away and it made me post. So thank you to that person.

I was doing well until my partner came home and asked if I wanted to go to the shop 😔

Finally sold out and got an air fryer today.

So the combination of these two things meant we ended up eating fried chicken burgers in brioche and I really wanted Red Leicester so I ended up eating too much cheese 😥

SW: 149lb
CW: 146lb
GW: 140lb

B - 2 crumpets with Lurpak lighter
L - king beef and tomato pot noodle
D - Chicken burger with Onion Rings

Total = 1585 calories (and some light mayo that I should have weighed out)

I did go and do my couch to 5k though and altogether I've done 11.200 steps. So it's not too bad.

Well done to everybody that had a good day. & Also, well done to everybody that checked in😊

socks1107 · 04/06/2025 19:58

@Endoftethermum1 I have a protein pudding and a sugar free jelly every night for 100calories. Hits the spot just as I need! And super yummy

frostedshreddie · 04/06/2025 20:20

My tailbone injury is improved somewhat. Went to sleep with a hot water bottle on my ass 🤣 going up and down the stairs is still uncomfortable but it's definitely improved from yesterday hurrah!!!

Today:
30 mins leg workout
30 mins outside walk @ lunch time
2 L water
1536 calories

FrothyCothy · 04/06/2025 20:26

1700 cals, 9.5k steps. Hungry hippo today! Rest day from the gym, whole day of meetings tomorrow so trying to work out where to squeeze it in.

LegoTherapy · 04/06/2025 20:32

I’m going with 57.75kg for today. My head’s all over the place as well as my scales but that seems to be the constant now. So that’s a 200g pack of butter if you buy the brands that have decided to stiff you 50g.

Brush your teeth! Kills cravings.

Endoftethermum1 · 04/06/2025 21:26

Marshmellowbunny I’ve joined groups before and give up so easily!
today I have caved and had 3 custard creams before and after tea but it’s been a hard day at work and not going to punish myself too much!
TheWayTheLightFalls yes I’ve tried teeth brushing or mouth washing to get rid of that craving the last few days as someone else suggested that.
socks1107 im not.a fan of jelly and prefer yoghurt in the morning but i might try low fat popcorn.

mermadeincornwall · 05/06/2025 07:26

11st 4lb
I'm going to post my weight most days if that's okay. I need the accountability.
Emily English 's salmon nutritional dinner this evening, with a bit of a tweak as it's over 600 calories.

letstrythis · 05/06/2025 07:29

Good Morning everyone,
weighed in at 95.4k this morning so that’s a 1.7k loss overall in 3 weeks.
Quite relieved the scales are finally beginning to shift as I’ve been diligently logging everything to stay in my calorie deficit!

Hope everyone has a good day with their goals!

Yours doing better than me. I've just never joined. Just quietly lurk and read posts and try and will the weight away. 😂

Don't worry about the occasional blip. I'm not. I had a creme egg and a fairy cake last night AFTER I'd brushed my teeth 😏ah well. Back on it today!!

MrsC2017ruled · 05/06/2025 09:22

I'm here for it. Following slimming world combined with keeping within a calorie deficit, aiming for as many steps as possible (I'm disabled) and having 7 portions of fruit and vegetables a day

TheWayTheLightFalls · 05/06/2025 09:45

If you're finding yourself doing well but then falling into snacks after the kids' bedtime - other things I've found helpful are eating more protein with earlier meals, drinking black (decaf) coffee, and snacking on frozen grapes. They taste like little sorbets Grin.

Good luck today everyone. I'm enjoying the rain here, though it means my step count is through the floor.

Medee · 05/06/2025 10:00

I was putting my weight machine print out on the fridge when I spotted the previous ones, I'm now where I was in Jan 23 and have set myself an intermediate goal to be below what I was in Jan 22, so a 3lb loss to get in next 2-3 weeks.

Yes, I need to declutter the front of the fridge !

TheRealHousewife · 05/06/2025 11:47

Good Morning

Just for a change, for my first feed I’ve had spicy avocado on gf toast and it was delicious 😋

That’s a great 1st weigh-in @Medee 👍 That’s a good idea to clear the fridge.

@PrueLeithsChunkyNecklace Welcome to the thread (love your tag)

Pleased to read your injury is improving @frostedshreddie 🤞

Well done on the loss@LegoTherapy 👏 Re:- the butter, I flipping hate shrinkflation! I’d rather they just pro-rata put the price up.

@mermadeincornwall You post as often as you like, the threads for support in anyway that’s useful ❤️ Are you able to share the Salmon Nutritional Recipe please? I’m intrigued 😬 We are having salmon later and would love some inspiration.

@letstrythis Great loss! 👏👍

@Marshmellowbunny Love your attitude … slips happen sometimes x

@MrsC2017ruled Welcome to the thread. Being disabled makes it so much harder to get formal exercise in and remain consistent. I did some hand weights yesterday and today I’ve got increased pain/fatigue etc. I do what I can, when I can and try not to obsess or worry. I think every little bit extra we can do helps x

@TheWayTheLightFalls We need the rain so much … I was out to health appointment this morning and got caught in it and I found it very refreshing, it was lovely x

Menu
Meal 1 - Spicy Avocado on toast.
Meal 2 - Salmon, carrots, green beans & side salad
Drinks - Tea, black coffee and water 💧

Exercise - Rest Day

I’m going out this evening for a work colleague’s leaving drinks. I know that some of them will order pizza. I’ve just had my main meal (paneer and vegetable curry) for lunch in the hopes that it carries me over enough that I can refuse the pizza. If it doesn’t then I’ve definitely just shot myself in the foot!

socks1107 · 05/06/2025 15:53

@QueenMabbyif you can’t resist it’s just one day. When I’ve had a day over I drink plenty of water the next day and keep food light. Enjoy.

had an unexpected nsv today, I had to meet someone from another organisation and show her our hospital and some of the work I do. I felt really confident, not hiding behind a jumper or bag over my tummy, I just felt like me and that felt great!
off for a swim after work now and I’ve redone my tdee so need to come down 100 calories daily now (I’d started to taper off again so checked) hopefully I’ll meet my next goal in ten days and that takes me to almost 2.5 stone

WearyAuldWumman · 05/06/2025 16:55

Had my exercise session at the gym yesterday evening - 3kg arm raises, 3X10. Ditto biceps.

5kg sit to stand 3X10 plus the same for oblique side twist. 3X 10 each side for oblique side dips. 15 min cycle warm up - least resistance.

Today - 10 min HIIT walking on treadmill. 3X10 30kg low row; 3X10 10kg for leg press plus leg extension. One 10 set 10kg and one of 20kg for leg press - first time in 20+ yrs. Looks like a very different machine from the one that I used in the noughties.

A member of the gym staff is keen for me to join his senior flex class and I'd really like to go, but it's 4.30 on a Wed and I give my pal a lift to the drop-in class which starts at 6.15. Think it would be too much of a rush.

Wish I'd never got this fat - I reckon I'm going to be left with an apron this time. I think I gained a stone too far this time. My own stupid fault. The sides look like they might be okay, but I reckon that the front will be problematic. slathers on AHA body serum to no avail

I read somewhere that you can get off with losing 7 stone of weight without having a load of slack skin, but I'm not convinced. Last time round, I went down from 15st 4 to 10st 12 and I was okay, but I'm 25 yrs older now and my highest weight was 16st 4 (plus I accidentally lost 2 stone in a month and then piled it on again). The stomach and inner thighs tell the tale. On the plus side, my arms look okay and I think my boobs are all right...Not that anyone is ever going to see them!

I'm trying to be positive about it - at least if I lose the weight and keep building muscle, I'll be mobile for longer! Also, the muscle that I've regained in my arms means that I've stopped worrying about wearing sleeveless tops.

2in2022twoyearson · 05/06/2025 17:09

Today I had no snacks.

FrothyCothy · 05/06/2025 18:37

Barely moved today - 2,200 steps - stuck to calories and protein at least. No gym. Absolutely knackered today. Tomorrow is another day!

Food - my usual protein yoghurt breakfast, paneer curry for tea with no rice and half a naan. And too many snacks!
