Following on from ☀️LOSE IT! May 2025☀️

⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Here comes summer!

It’s never too late to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body.

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st, the last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

9st 6lb for me. I’ve been 9st 4.8lb in recent weeks but have had a massive bounce up this week. The weekend was heavy but it’s not come back down yet which is frustrating. I’ll keep plugging away though and hopefully it’ll come back down again soon.

LemonDrizzle23 · 25/06/2025 07:12

Well done to everyone WOWing, especially if it’s not coming off as fast as you’d like. Keep going!

1lb off for me this week:

SW: 15 st 8
CW: 14 st 4.8

At 14st, I will have lost 10% of my body weight, which feels like it’s got to be a good start for my health, even if I can’t really see many aesthetic changes yet. Although I was told I was “looking well” the other day, which I took as a compliment.

5 days left of the month. Would be nice to finish at 14.4 perhaps. Although I am away for the weekend, so not sure that will happen!

socks1107 · 25/06/2025 07:20

I am down another ‘1lb’ but still feel in stall. Anyway-
SW 13.13
CW 11.12
GW 11.8

keep going everyone. I’m feeling the slog now but I’m also aware that six months in I’d be foolish to give up

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 25/06/2025 07:50

Pleased to report a 1lb loss this week. So that’s 2lbs this month - not quite the 5lb I needed to get to my holiday goal weight but it’s something,

Now, will I be able to keep it off on holiday… 🤨

I have a post holiday goal though, I have a biannual health check booked for the end of August. Which includes weight and fitness so that will be something to work towards when I get back.

i spy a lot of a schnitzel and beer over the new few weeks, but hopefully enough walking to keep the pounds at bay!

Well done to the losers and keep going to anyone with scales that aren’t playing ball today. @socks1107 - you’ve got this. Keep reaching towards that holiday goal and see how far you get. But don’t get despondent in you don’t quite get there. Travelling in the right direction beats reversing.

Good luck with the calorie counting @2in2022twoyearson thete are a lot of nutracheck fans on here (me included). I find it’s more geared towards a British audience and there’s a lot more reliable data from uk supermarkets.

frostedshreddie · 25/06/2025 07:55

A 1lb loss for me too this week.

SW: 10st 8lb
CW: 10st 4.4lb
GW: 9 st 7lb

Well done everyone 👏🏻 Keep going!!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 25/06/2025 08:51

Well done on everyone who has lost and those who are determined to keep going regarless.

I'm 1kg up from last week but one 1kg down from Monday 👀 Tummy feels smaller, but 1" bigger and butt feels the same but apparently 1" smaller... so the take away from this is to just keep plodding on as hormones/water retention is obviously going to play havoc.

Tomorrow there will be take away food and birthday cake, but I will just moderate the rest of the day to compensate and then carry on as normal.

Rushing, but whoever asked upthread about fasting time - I do 16/8 hours working backwards from when I want to eat evening meal which fits into a breakfast, lunch and tea sort of set up.

Bickybics · 25/06/2025 08:55

id lost weight but now I am back up to the same weight I was last Wednesday. I’ve been so good as well. I have started exercising so suspect it’s that.

Marshmellowbunny · 25/06/2025 09:18

Woops accidentally posted it when I hadn't finished!

You're all so early with your check ins. It's inspiring! Made me get out of bed and weigh myself 👍🏻

SW: 67.85KG
CW: 66.35Kg

I'm so up and down but I'm just not going to worry. I feel healthier and that's all that matters!

Raindancer411 · 25/06/2025 09:41

Just weighed myself but only started this IF a few days ago and cutting back on the sweet stuff.

SW: 134.4lbs
CW: 133.2lbs
GW: 114lbs

Medee · 25/06/2025 10:35

Not weighing every week-

Start 14/5- 14 stone exactly
4/6 - 13st8lb
25/6- 13st4lb

So going in the right direction!

SummerOak · 25/06/2025 10:50

Weighed myself today for the first time in 3 weeks.
After two weeks of barely moving, I’ve gained back almost everything I had lost. It’s discouraging how hard it is to lose weight, and how quickly it comes back. But it's worth to keep going.

SW: 68 kg
CW: 67.2 kg
GW: 59 kg

LegoTherapy · 25/06/2025 10:50

9st this morning. Bastard weekend carbs still lingering.

WearyAuldWumman · 25/06/2025 12:02

SW: 16st4
CW: 14st6

(However, I'd gone down to 14st10 in October, and was back up to 15st 9 in January. Yikes.)

Intermediate GW: 14st.

I'm really not sure what weight I should be. People tell me I'm "big-boned." I'm really not. According to my late husband (who was a weightlifter and body builder in his youth) I have "an impressive ribcage". (Not sure that that was a compliment, Darling!) However, I have really skinny wrists. At one point, I looked like Mr Blobby with sticks for arms.

No large spots all over, however.

Had hoped to make the IGW before I go to a wedding in mid-July, but I don't think that that's going to happen.

I've tried on a few old clothes and - my goodness, how sizes vary. Size 20 trousers, are now zipping up, but at least one is very baggy in the thighs.

I have a size 18 skirt that fits fine, but I think that it's vanity sizing. I have a size 16-20 top that's perfect on my skinny arms and it skims my stomach with ease. However, when I turn I see the dreaded back fat.

I'm putting out a size 20 dress that I wore to a wedding two years ago. It still fits, but the the arms are really baggy and the pattern is granny chrysanthemum print. (I couldn't get into anything else at the time.)

To be honest, I'm sick of wearing bell tents and baggy tops. When I go to the gym now, I just wear vest tops and damn the consequences. (For "consequences" read "humungous belly".) I just focus on my arms when I'm doing weights opposite mirrored surfaces.

I had no idea what a difference it makes when arms are "pumped up". I think I might carry weights to the wedding instead of a handbag and pose whilst doing a side raise...

frostedshreddie · 25/06/2025 12:14

@BlueOysterCultGroupieI am starting 16:8 today 😃 so far so good!!

Well done everyone!

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 25/06/2025 12:56

Takes a few days to get used to it. I started at 12, then 13 hours and stretched it a bit. Good luck @frostedshreddie

2in2022twoyearson · 25/06/2025 14:02

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo I have just downloaded nutracheck. It has the cafe menu I've been to for lunch.

2in2022twoyearson · 25/06/2025 14:04

I'm up to 13 hours for if. Started at 12 and it was difficult to begin with, isn't now. However, I'm struggling to increase the length as I really feel like I need breakfast before starting work. But it's now an hour later than I was, either just before leaving, or at work before I start.

LegoTherapy · 25/06/2025 16:29

Get me eating the second portion of the risotto I made last night! Woo. The enthusiasm is bursting out of your screens 🤣 I rarely eat things I’ve made in advance so this is progress.

BlueOysterCultGroupie · 25/06/2025 19:56

Well done @LegoTherapy I made risotto tonight and it was delicious. Lunch was left over food I made yesterday - definitely helps make life easier. Cook once, eat twice or batch cooking I guess...

Fellsbells · 25/06/2025 22:12

Well done all WOWERs.

Small loss this week for me, but it’s because I’ve had some stomach problems which I’d rather not have.

Today has been a disaster foodwise. I’ve eaten way too little, survived on sugar and anxiety. Looking forward to a nutritious and calmer day tomorrow.

mermadeincornwall · 26/06/2025 07:35

I've been away so not WOWed this week, and because no change on the scales the previous weeks.

Anyone have any suggestions on how to get started?
💕

LegoTherapy · 26/06/2025 08:04

@mermadeincornwallwhat is your current diet and activity level like? How much do you want to lose? What are the barriers to you doing what needs to be done?
Posters here use different ways of losing weight and it’s about what works for you. My usual approach is to stick to a calorie deficit of around 500 calories and eat whatever I want but try to increase protein by eating proper Greek yogurt. I’ve now been diagnosed with pre-diabetes which I think is very rude considering I’m a normal weight and do lots of exercise, don’t drink (well, very rarely) and don’t smoke and have never been more than in the overweight category. So, I’m cutting my carbs. Something I never thought I’d do because carbs have never bothered me before and my diet is mainly carbs. It’s still mainly carbs but I’ve reduced carbs by about 100g a day.
My day looks like this:
Walk around 5-10 miles just going about my daily activities and work for my mum
Breakfast: porridge made with 42g oats, sprinkle of chia seeds, 160ml semi skimmed milk, 15g golden syrup. Tea with skimmed milk.
Lunch: 200g Greek yogurt with 100g raspberries and 100g strawberries, 15g honey or red pepper hummus with carrot sticks and red pepper or breadsticks if I’m in a hurry. Might have this for dinner too.
Dinner: risotto made with 25g rice, asparagus, broccoli, broad beans, peas or homemade soups.
Snacks: homemade toasted sunflower and pumpkin seeds in a little olive oil and sprinkled with salt. Babybel lights. Cantaloupe.
Try to drink plenty of water. I usually have a second cup of tea at some point.

My diet is very restricted though and most people on here eat much better than I do.

Today is DD’s prom and she wants scones and tea this afternoon. How many carbs in a scone? Homemade. I’ll work it out later. I’m going to mainly eat strawberries and raspberries today though. M&S ones for the win 🥰

I hope everyone has a fantastic day and @Fellsbellsbe kind to yourself and if you can do a little better than yesterday then that’s a positive step. If you can only do the same as yesterday then that’s a neutral step. You’ve got this.

LegoTherapy · 26/06/2025 08:21

P.S. back down to 8st 13lb this morning. Now to lose a few more pounds and have less belly. Ds told Dd at the weekend that he hadn’t realised how big I was around the middle. Dd told him off and said I’m not big around the middle at all. I’m
a little big around the middle but it upset me and made me more determined to lose some of my belly. My BMI is 22.3 and I’d like to get it back down in the 21 range.

Fellsbells · 26/06/2025 08:30

Thanks @LegoTherapy

Sorry to hear about your pre diabetic diagnosis. You’ve probably got information and advice coming out of your ears, but it’s worth reading about not eating naked carbs. It’s basically always eating carbs with fat and protein to slow digestion and reduce your blood sugar spike. I controlled my gestational diabetes with it. And lost over a stone in weight!

2in2022twoyearson · 26/06/2025 08:57

@LegoTherapy my 6 year old daughter thinks I'm pregnant again and keeps stroking my belly, I tell her I'm not but she thinks she knows better. And a colleague asked if I was pregnant. So I know the feeling! I also saw some photos of myself at the weekend and my arms don't look good either. I'm not normally very self conscious of my body but I've got to a size on unhappy with.
