Are you up for getting Summer Ready? There’s still time to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body in time for the summer sun ☀️

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

PS - Grok 3 created my picture … not the best but perhaps I’m instructing him wrong. I still thanked him 😅

I’ve gone off track the past few days and feeling really bloated and horrible! Out tonight for a few drinks with friends so will get back on it tomorrow.
Sounds like you are all doing really well! I might skip my weigh in tomorrow as I know I’ll find it demotivating if I’ve gained which I most probably have done! Have a great evening everyone

QueenMabby · 23/05/2025 18:06

I’m struggling today. Massively premenstrual and just need to eat. Oh well. Back on it tomorrow.

AnonymousMum37 · 23/05/2025 18:44

I had my birthday last weekend and have had a bit of a greedy week as a result. Still tracking everything and exercising. Went up from 154 to 155.2 but hopefully just water weight from eating more carbs.

SummerOak · 23/05/2025 20:33

I'm finally over the cold so went for a nice long walk. For breakfast I had Greek yoghurt with strawberries. Lunch was salmon, rice and peas and dinner was cup soup and baby carrots.

Going out for lunch tomorrow so I'll have a light breakfast and dinner.

GreenFressia · 24/05/2025 00:42

Been a bit up and down and not very actively dieting. But my consumption of crap food has defo gone down. Have redone my meal plan.

Happy Bank Holiday Weekend Everyone!!
What is everyone up to? We have precisely zero plans, which is quite nice!!

Yesterday stuck to my plan ✅
Today I have done a 30 min full body workout cardio + weights, and 30 mins on bike.
Have planned my calories today and just having Fage yoghurt with mixed berries with a coffee for breakfast.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 24/05/2025 09:28

I seem to be up a pound since Wednesday. Been pretty active, kept within my calories, no booze or salty snacks 🤷‍♀️ Annoying.

We are going to visit family for the weekend and if past visits are anything to go by it will be very difficult for me to avoid stodgy carb-dense food.

SummerOak · 24/05/2025 10:19

@frostedshreddie having the exact same breakfast. We also don't have much planned, we'll go out for lunch today and we also booked a play café for the little one.

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo I also find it difficult to eat healthy when visiting someone or some visits us. Maybe just have smaller portions?

My MIL will be visiting in a couple of weeks and she always takes over cooking, which I usually don't mind, but her food is quite carb-dense and fatty, so I'm trying to figure out a way to not gain everything back in that time 😩

NerrSnerr · 24/05/2025 11:00

Morning all. My husband is now back from his work trip so I’m able to get to the gym. Did two classes this morning, strong core and spin. I can say with 190% certainty that I do not have a strong core!!

Really going to work hard this week, I am 4lbs away from only being overweight so that’s my next goal.

LemonDrizzle23 · 24/05/2025 11:06

@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo I’m definitely glad he’s on board, it does make life so much easier!

A series of unplanned events last night, led to an unplanned takeaway! So I’m getting back on track today, both food and exercise. Have baked a cake for DHs birthday, but the filling will be mascarpone and double cream, which will not be friendly to my insides 😬 so I will have a good excuse not to eat it. Off to the gym for a cycle and a walk this afternoon, as the weather here is grim. And a healthy dinner planned.

socks1107 · 24/05/2025 13:31

Morning all! I’m having a sensible reseed day. I’ll still in a deficit but I am hungry so eating sensible but a bit more today

WearyAuldWumman · 24/05/2025 14:09

Weight is sticking.

10 moms HIIT walking on treadmill- highest speed 6.5 min p k.

Couldnt get on lat machine, so 3kg hand weights on video plate - 3X10 side raises and only 2x10 biceps curls.

Low row, 30kg - 3 of 10, one of 5, Angel wings in between.

My arms are definitely shaping up and I think I’ve lost some girth from my thighs.

Don’t ask about the belly…

WearyAuldWumman · 24/05/2025 16:54

"mins"

"vibro plate"

Darned autocorrect!

TheWayTheLightFalls · 24/05/2025 19:45

Ok rather than amazing day here, food wise. Two eggs fried in a little EV olive oil for breakfast, with one slice of buttered toast. Lunch in town with DD - sushi, a katsu curry, a 100 cal drink, then a bubble tea (which I love and which I think can be healthy - ish? Sort of?). Dinner was a tuna salad with bulgur wheat, lambs lettuce, veg, pickled beetroot and chia seeds. And then a 100 cal chocolate. And many coffees.

It’s TOTM and I have a miserable cold, so I think I need to call it good enough.

GreenFressia · 24/05/2025 21:26

Closing the kitchen on 1550 cals which is pretty low but it has been a sedentary day.

Overnight oats
Chickpea energy ball
Mini ham roll
Prawn and puy lentil salad
Salmon fillet and lentils

Breadsticks, 1 date, some raspberries, a pear, some tortilla chips - defo need to cut back the snacking!

Positive wins today - I did a food shop and meal plan and put new batteries in the food scales.

Also created a mini goal which is to fit comfortably into my skinny jeans again in time for autumn.

LemonDrizzle23 · 24/05/2025 21:32

Well for the second night in a row, plans nearly didn’t go to plan! Had an unexpected extra guest for dinner, but I stuck to the healthy meal planned and they really enjoyed it.

Tomorrow will test me. First of two big family meals. Aim is to be a bit stricter tomorrow, so I can be a lot more relaxed the following day - we’re going out and I know I’m going to have ribs!

frostedshreddie · 25/05/2025 09:38

Yesterday my calories finished at 1587. We went to a garden centre with a farm shop attached and OMG the cakes in there 🤯, when my DH said do you want anything the willpower it took to say no 🤣 it's on my list to visit again once I'm at goal/further along with weight loss.

This morning I have done 30 mins of yoga stretches, 30 mins on bike = 12.7K. Planning Fage and fruit for breakfast, and Spanish Chicken for dinner. Need to figure out lunch, visiting MIL.

QueenMabby · 25/05/2025 16:03

This whole weekend has been a write off. Out of routine and period starting do not mix well. I’ve eaten so much food. Will start again tomorrow.

SummerOak · 25/05/2025 17:27

This is the first weekend I managed to stay in my calories allowance, feeling really good about it. Hopefully it shows on WOW day.

WearyAuldWumman · 25/05/2025 17:28

No change in weight. Staying within my calories allowance.

No gym today - just a bit of gardening.

Fellsbells · 25/05/2025 17:39

Maintaining at 10st 1. I’ve had quite a lot of treat type food recently which I had previously banished, but then when I went off the rails I went mad. So although I’ve not had a loss for a couple of weeks I’m taking this as a win on learning how to eat reasonably and not have a feast/famine mindset.

I’ve been running three times a week for 10 weeks and I’m starting to see a positive change in my shape. No weight loss, but my belt is on its smallest hole and my jeans are looser.

Hope everyone has a good BH weekend.

LemonDrizzle23 · 25/05/2025 19:11

Well, showing restraint at the bbq did not happen 😂 I did avoid the hotdog and bun, and stuck to chicken, veg and potato salad instead. Just ate waaaaay too much of everything.

On the plus side, a non scale victory today. All the walking, cycling and aerobics has completely changed the shape of my legs. Once there’s been a bit more fat loss, I think there might be a half decent pair shaping up under there 👌

GreenFressia · 25/05/2025 20:53

Closing the kitchen on 1530 cals.

My target was 1670 but am under on protein.

Overnight oats
Egg on toast
New potato and french ham salad
Ratatouille with lentils, cannellini beans and halloumi
Home made yoghurt
Cottage cheese and raspberries

Will add prawns to ratatouille next time for added protein.

socks1107 · 25/05/2025 21:14

I’ve gone way over today. It felt amazing, I’ve enjoyed the chocolate and dinner and will own it this week! But I needed it.
happy bank holiday everyone

LightGirl · 26/05/2025 05:01

Weekend was rough. I am back on track now, dreading WOW a little bit but hey down doesn't mean out, does it?
