⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️ Active April 2025⭐️

Are you up for getting Summer Ready? There’s still time to make a change, to make a difference and feel confident in your body in time for the summer sun ☀️

To reach optimum health and vitality we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost just around 45lbs. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

PS - Grok 3 created my picture … not the best but perhaps I’m instructing him wrong. I still thanked him 😅

Ok weekend here, lots of gardening. I’ve developed a quasi addiction to snacking on frozen grapes - they taste like tiny little sorbets. Strong recommend!

socks1107 · 18/05/2025 19:19

Everyone’s weekends sound good.
I was nearly thrown off at lunch when my husband suggested lunch out! I don’t want to keep him down like me so I chose carefully and it all fitted into my allowance with a small tweak to dinner tonight.
2 weeks to my next mini goal 🤞

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/05/2025 07:02

The Happy Scale App has just added a BMI tracker. Not sure I was ready to see that first thing this morning 😬 Weekend doesn’t appear to have done too much weight damage though, so that’s positive.

QueenMabby · 19/05/2025 07:34

So. Calorie cycling seems to have worked well for me this week. I ate lower calories Monday to Friday which mean that I had a bit of leeway at the weekend. This weekend the leeway included a Thai takeaway (Saturday) and a large bag of Maltesers (Sunday)! Both fit within my calorie goal.
Scale read 9st 7.4lb this morning. Last Monday it was 9st 9.4lb.

TheaBrandt1 · 19/05/2025 07:37

I tried to do the build muscle thing by eating protein and eating more of healthy food and weights like they said online and put on half a stone of fat so not doing that again!

QueenMabby · 19/05/2025 07:51

@TheaBrandt1- did you also track calories? Too many will cause weight gain whether the food stuff is chocolate or broccoli!

TheaBrandt1 · 19/05/2025 07:52

I know that now!!!

🤣
I track calories, protein and fibre and let the rest just chill.

socks1107 · 19/05/2025 08:04

My scales this morning are a 1lb up. I need to go to toilet (tmi) and yesterday’s carbs, salt and lack of water are clinging on! Was still in a deficit though so I need to keep telling myself it’s not fat. I can actually feel how bloated I am and k ew it’d be up before I even weighed myself.
have a good Monday 😀

TheaBrandt1 · 19/05/2025 08:05

I was really good but let myself down with wine as massive weekend parties both nights. So my good food choices in the days were undermined

frostedshreddie · 19/05/2025 10:53

@TheaBrandt1how do you know it wasn't half a stone of muscle?

WearyAuldWumman · 19/05/2025 12:14

I thought that I'd 'stuck' at one point, because my weight stayed the same. It was my GP who pointed out that my shape had changed because I'd built muscle.

frostedshreddie · 19/05/2025 15:45

My accountability post for today:

Workout: 30 mins calisthenics YouTube video +
30 mins on bike which was 13.2 k.

Water - 2 litres

Food: 1608 calories
Breakfast - 2 scrambled eggs on 1 protein toast
Lunch - banana meal replacement shake (I know!)
Dinner - chicken and salad
Snacks - Banana, Apple, chocolate protein pudding, 100g cottage cheese on 1 ryvita

Just under 100g of protein

WearyAuldWumman · 19/05/2025 16:34

Workout: 10 HIIT on treadmill, 5.2 - 6.4 kph.
Low row, 30kg, 3 sets of 10.
Leg extension, 10kg, 3 sets of 5.
Leg curl, 10kg, 4 sets of 5.

Breakfast: cornflakes and oatmilk; coffee with oatmilk - half and half.

Post workout meal: lentil soup with creatine powdwer; cheese and onion toastie with salad.

In spite of the NHS app claiming that I might lose up to 4lbs a week, I don't see it happening - no way will I manage a daily 2000 calories deficit, not even on cardio days.

LightGirl · 19/05/2025 21:40

@TheaBrandt1 I noticed excess protein makes me heavier too. May be not everything they say online is true,, OR it applies only if you spend like 2 hours in a gym every day.
Counting calories works for me! I am 1.3 kg down this week by only not binging, cutting down calories intake to not more than 1600 and walking 10K steps or more on weekdays.

TheaBrandt1 · 19/05/2025 22:21

Counting calories is the only thing that works I agree. Not listening to the fashionable online advice will go back and do what I know works!

This is the hard bit hunger in the evening…

HollyGolightly4 · 19/05/2025 22:23

Has anyone listened to any good audiobooks on food or eating?

If you struggle with hunger in the evening can you keep back some calories so you can have a snack after dinner? I’m quite happy feeling hungry when I go to bed but hate feeling hungry in the morning! As such I never skip breakfast even if that means I have fewer calories for later in the day.

TheaBrandt1 · 20/05/2025 10:29

I try and think of what I saw a PT say - think of hunger as fat leaving the body!

I quite like the Zoe podcast. I’m not a Zoe person / subscriber but the podcast is a good listen.

LemonDrizzle23 · 20/05/2025 13:43

Another fan of the Zoe podcast here @HollyGolightly4. I’ve found it very educational and it’s really helped change how we’re eating as a family and also helping me teach my DS about eating for good health in the future.

WearyAuldWumman · 20/05/2025 16:14

A bit stiff and sore. Have skipped gym and been working in the garden instead. Mainly raking, so working my arms.

Weight: 14st 11.5

Breakfast: cornflakes and oatmilk; half and half coffee

Lunch: lentil soup with creatine; 3 slices of silverside; two strawberries; two coffees.

frostedshreddie · 20/05/2025 20:42

Today has been:
Workout: 30 mins low impact with dumbbells + 30 mins on bike = 12.7k
Water: 2 Litres
Food: 1691 calories
Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs on 1 toast
Lunch: Banana meal replacement shake
Dinner: Carbonara
Snacks: chocolate protein pudding and 50g cottage cheese on 1 ryvita.

I haven't weighed for about 10 days so a bit nervous about tomorrows WOW.

LightGirl · 20/05/2025 20:58

WOW has really been a WOW to me!

  • 1.7 kg this week, and I am officially the lightest I've been in a whole year!
Also, yesterday I (barely, but...) fit into my "small" jeans. Yay! I still have a lot more to lose, but these small victories keep me motivated and moving toward my goal.

Thank you everyone for walking this journey with me. I wish I had found this group earlier. I didn’t realize how much simple accountability could mean.

Fingers crossed—I’m going out today with my mind fixed on a salad. Hopefully, I can stick to it!

socks1107 · 20/05/2025 21:28

I’m not sure how WOW will be. I’ve stuck to calories and macros but I am so bloated and sore tonight! It looks like a football up my top. 😞.
Must’ve eaten something that hasn’t quite agreed with me
