⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️Move It March 2025⭐️

Spring has sprung at long last! ☀️ Are you ready for Active April?

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

Hello,

I feel like it's time to continue my weight loss journey again, and I hope that reading and a little writing here will help, if that's okay. I lost a decent amount last year, changed some eating habits for the better, but it's time to get serious again

So, here's my plan for today:
Lunch: toasted whole wheat bread and lettuce with filet americain or with tomatosauce and mozzarella
Dinner: husband's surprise
And my downfall, snacks. Because if I don't have decently healthy quick snack options I will find unhealthy snack options.
Banana, apple, pear, boiled egg, yoghurt-like-cheese that I don't think exists in English, tzatziki, almonds.

Plus I plan to marinate some eggs in soy sauce for the next couple of days.

TheRealHousewife · 17/04/2025 08:44

Welcome to the thread @PurpleWillow Your lunch sounds tasty … I wonder what ‘husbands surprise’ is 🙃

Oh dear. That does sound, ehm differently, now I think about it 😁. I meant it's his turn cooking, and I have no idea what he is going to cook. And neither does he, usually, untill he starts cooking.

LBB2020 · 17/04/2025 20:50

An ok day here today, food wasn’t the most healthy but I don’t think I’ve overeaten. Took the children out to a local NT so another good step count (13,000 steps). I really need to up my water intake, I struggle as I don’t really get thirsty so feel like I’m forcing myself to drink when I don’t want to.
Hope everyone has a good Easter weekend x

PurpleWillow · 18/04/2025 09:05

Husband surprise was, to great pleasure to my puerile mind, roasted aubergine. 😂

I was one muffin and a bit of olive oil over my calories, but I am not unhappy. I had my fruit and veg, I had enough proteine, I went for a little walk and I prepped a little for today. Not a bad restart.

Today:
Lunch: Toast with lettuce and filet americain
Dinner with friends. Usually pretty healthy. Though the snacks afterwards are not, so I need a little willpower there.
Snack options: cashews, one muffin, soy egg, not-yoghurt, banana, apple, cup a soup

LemonDrizzle23 · 18/04/2025 09:45

I have started the Easter weekend as I’m aiming to go on, with an hour of aerobics. Even DH and DS decided to join in! Hoping to get a decent walk in later too.

Will be having a big family Easter lunch and Easter Monday brunch, but otherwise aiming to keep it vaguely healthy throughout the weekend.

Sighthoundsforever · 18/04/2025 11:31

Did a sneaky mid week weigh and am down a pound. Only 1 chocolate egg in the house for my ds. Dd doesn’t like chocolate so got her make up instead. So I think we are all set for not having a blow out on chocolates.

SW: 12st
CW: 10st 1
GW: 9st 13

nearly there. Just want to see the number 9 on the scale- been a very long time since I’ve seen a 9.

Wow! Your starting weight and goal weight are exactly the same as mine!! I am 2 weeks in so this is really motivating.

Can I ask how long it took you? Are you calorie counting?

Brilliant job!!! 😊

Morning! No breakfast here, resisted various cakes and treats while out for a walk with my little ones, then a veg soup with chicken breast for lunch, one Oreo biscuit and a black coffee now... not sure about dinner. Again weighed today and was a little lower so heading in the right direction.

TheWayTheLightFalls · 18/04/2025 12:22

And like the rest of the country I'm off to B&Q shortly so sure to get my steps in!

Aww thank you so much. I started on New Year’s Eve. So it’s taken about 3 and a half months. I calorie count and eat very similar things each day to make it easy and I like what I eat which helps. I drink lots of liquids and do 10k steps a day. I haven’t found it hard - just got in a routine. You can absolutely do this!!!!!

That is brilliant!!! This really gives me hope that it is do-able. You are proof that it is so thank you 🙂

I am also calorie counting and I also eat pretty much the same things for my meals and snacks so it makes it easier for me. And I enjoy the foods I am eating and the meals I make so I don't actually feel too much like I am missing out at all.

My step count is good each day as I have dogs that need 2 walks a day so I pretty much always hit my steps goal but I have also started doing some weight training which I am really enjoying.

Its Easter weekend and I don't even feel vaguely tempted by the chocolate and treats that my adult DD has in the house for Easter. So I am massively motivated to do this. 💪

HollyGolightly4 · 18/04/2025 14:44

Well done everyone with your willpower!

This weekend is a little wobbly for me (afternoon tea yesterday, family meal out today and tomorrow) but I'm just going to take it slow and steady and remember this isn't a sprint, I've got plenty of time to get on it. It's different to previously though, because I'm not going to spiral!

socks1107 · 18/04/2025 16:40

Nessiesnotreal well done on your weight loss!

Ive taken some advice and increased my calories and lost 2lbs. So I’m staying at the higher figure till Monday then back down half way. I think I’ve been under eating so will add a protein shake in to bump it up and some extra fruit and see how that goes for breaking this plateau, but won’t go as low as 1500 calories for the rest of April. Aiming to sit at 1650

LighterSpring25 · 18/04/2025 20:36

I'm trying to increase fibre. Today my dinner was 2 pork loins with fat cut off, a handful of oven cooked fries and carrots, brocoli, sweetcorn, peas & cabbage with gravy. My plan is to nake my meals half veg with protein and a bit of carbs.

First day of my 2 week holiday! (well, was off yesterday but kids were still at school so today counts as day 1).

Goals:
To relax! Properly relax, not doomscrolling. Rediscover all the great stuff I have in my house to do - singing, guitar or ukulele, crafty bits, watching a play, reading a great book
Get outside everyday - walking and gardening.
Do my pelvic floor exercises everyday
Start up yoga again
No crisps (I refuse to cut out chocolate given that I have an egg and a Lindt bunny for tomorrow)
Make lots of yummy home-cooked stuff
Scratch something off my to do list every day (whether it's school work, house or life admin related)

Be back later with some food updates.

LemonDrizzle23 · 19/04/2025 11:20

Thank you @TheRealHousewife my aim is not to throw my hands up in the air and say “sod it” and eat all the things, all weekend. But to try and find a balance!

Second day of the bank holiday weekend and second work out for me. An hour of Team Body Project workouts - low impact (necessary for me), but high intensity. Apple Watch seems pleased with me.

Lunch in a bit, then out to a park with friends. Weather looks a little dubious 😬 So we’ll see how we get on…

TheWayTheLightFalls · 19/04/2025 18:35

Kitchen closed! Brunch of garlic mushrooms, eggs, toms etc, dinner of soup, lots of teas and coffees. Managed ten fruit and vegetables today 😗and did 45 minutes of gardening. Very happy here. Hope others are doing well.

Admission: fell off the wagon completely this week. I didn't expect the biopsy that I got on Monday. Was told that I might bleed for about 3 days, but it went on for a bit longer.

Has stopped now, thankfully. Shall try to get back into my routine on Monday. Only problem is that I have a wee bit of a knee problem now - in all seriousness, probably caused by having to use the stirrups! Just hoping it sorts itself out.

Not been a brilliant week anyway - had the anniversary of my dad's death and my late DH's birthday 3 days apart.

Time to pull myself together.

HollyGolightly4 · 19/04/2025 20:13

@WearyAuldWumman sounds like it's been tough- no beating yourself up! We move forward 💐

buzzofthebumblebee · 20/04/2025 13:58

sneaking back in as also fell off the wagon ... here's to a brighter week ahead for you @WearyAuldWumman
I've gone from full house & full fridge / cupboards to home alone for the next week which means no temptations and I can get my mindset back and food intake back on track
No chocolate for me today (as I ate my egg Friday - oops!)
Happy Easter all
