⭐️OPEN TO ALL⭐️

Following on from ⭐️Move It March 2025⭐️

Spring has sprung at long last! ☀️ Are you ready for Active April?

To reach optimum health and vitality (as well as a slim bod) we need to focus not only on our food intake; but movement, our mental health and sleep quality too!

Who doesn’t want to feel good and energetic as well looking great! Get on board to reset & refresh and become a healthier version of yourself.

These threads are for those who’d like to lose weight and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and generally eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st The last time I weighed I was hovering around 9st 2lbs. I would like to get back into the 8’s 🤞

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

New members … Give it a go; it’s never too late! Come summer you’ll be pleased you did 😊

Beloved long timers it would be great for you to keep going❤️

Off the wagon for a couple of days.

Had another biopsy yesterday, and a bit crampy so I'm being a woose. I thought I was only going to see whether the Mirena was suiting me....

I now have to see my own surgery to have my HRT adjusted, seemingly.

I hope you’re feeling much more comfortable today ❤️

Back from hols and signing in. Up 1.5kg over the week, which is fine given that I wasn't especially careful in my eating.

No breakfast today (coffee x2/3 and rooibos tea), then soup planned for lunch and stir fry for dinner.

LighterSpring25 · 16/04/2025 07:30

Morning

I'm 1lb down this week.

SW 10st 9 1st March
CW 10st 4
1st GW 10st

I was 10st 11 just after Christmas so I have lost 1/2 stone.

Goal today is to drink plenty of water and stick to my calories.

MyFitnessPal gives me 1200
Nutracheck gives me 1400

Is there another way to check what I should be eating for my height 5ft 3?

socks1107 · 16/04/2025 07:36

I’ve stayed the same for the 5th week running. I just want to cry.
I’ve stuck with my calories, exercising and walking. I won’t make my goal for holiday now so am going to have Macdonalds for lunch, I’m out with my daughters so may as well after 4 months of being good that’s now not working

Midnightstar76 · 16/04/2025 08:11

WOW 11 stone 12 so a loss of 1lb aiming for nice and steady. Although I was wincing behind my eyes when looking at them scales as this weekend I have done absolutely no exercise and was quite carby for meals. Just so happy to finally be in the 11 range tbh. Blasted a workout this morning a new one on YouTube for arms with a lady called Mizz. Woke me up anyways 🙂 Going out today though for breakfast with nieces and nephews so going to really try and not slip off. Still going strong with no alcohol too.

LBB2020 · 16/04/2025 08:40

I had another off day yesterday. I struggle so much the few days before I’m due my period (and my cycle seems to be getting shorter and shorter).
Good luck to those weighing in today!

@socks1107 How disappointing for you 😢. Perhaps taking your foot of the pedal for a meal or 2 will ultimately give you a kick start once back on it; it could rev up your metabolism 🤞

@LighterSpring25 Congratulations on your loss to date! But I agree; It’s so confusing 🫤. Which calorie limit have you been using? The 1200 or 1400? If you’re not losing on the 1400 try 1300, then if no loss try the 1200 limit. I’m a good 3 inches smaller in height and for me to lose consistently over time I can’t go over 1000. That said I’m unable to move as much as most people so I don’t expend a lot of energy. I also take into account weekly average so one day I might eat a little less and other days a little more. I average between 7000 - 8000 a week.

@TheRealHousewife thank you for the information.

I've just used the BBC food calculator too and if I eat 500 less than my maintenance calories it's about 1200 so I'll go with that.

Do you not eat breakfast? I tend not to.

QueenMabby · 16/04/2025 10:31

I’ve put on weight this week. It’s so frustrating. I’ve never had issues with losing weight before. Bloody perimenopause!
I think I’m going to have to go back to tracking my food. I’ve been avoiding it so far as I find it soul destroying but I’m just not losing weight so needs must. Won’t do it before next Monday as we’re at a wedding Easter weekend somewhere we need to fly to so it’s three days of hotel and restaurant food and travelling and I can’t log well on that. I’ll just have this weekend as a last hurrah before the misery commences.

Cheesecake53 · 16/04/2025 10:32

Hi, I am a long-time lurker and currently weigh the highest I have ever been. I hope that by posting here, I will be more accountable.

SW 98.5kg - 15st5 (I am 172cm/ 5ft7)
GW 70kg - 11st

I'll try to cut out sweets to 90%, and aim to stay in my calorie allowance, which is 1700 (Yazio app), and will not to eat after 8pm.

TerroristToddler · 16/04/2025 10:32

I'm in such a plateau at the moment - this is my 3rd or 4th week bobbing around at 129lbs.

WOW - 129.0lbs (down 0.2lbs on last week, but still not back to my lowest recorded non-WOW)
SW - 140lbs
CW - 129.0

With Easter this weekend and a break from work I don't expect to lose next week either, but we'll see!

Fellsbells · 16/04/2025 10:42

Well done Wowers.

I can’t face the scales today. I’ll see how the next few days go.

Hi @LighterSpring25 Im pleased you’ve settled on a calorie count 👍I don’t normally have breakfast as I just don’t feel hungry most days. I usually eat my first meal between 11:00 - 12:00. Today it was 11:45 😋 and I’ll have my second meal between 18:00 - 19:00. Then the kitchen is cleaned and closed.

@QueenMabby As laborious as tracking is I find I make more progress if I do. I recently gained a little due in part to being unwell but mostly because tracking and portion control went out the window . Now I’m back tracking and I’m losing again. In regards to losing weight as we get older I’ve found that reducing carb intake, sugars, alcohol, processed foods etc make it easier. That said my diet was already based on a whole food, low processed and made from scratch basis. I realise a lot of people just don’t have the time to invest and that can make it harder. As for alcohol even though I can appreciate a really nice wine or gin and tonic my body absolutely hates it and I can feel very ill on very little. So that makes leaving alcohol out very easy for me 😬

Welcome to the thread @Cheesecake53 🤗 I’m pleased to see you’ve outlined a realistic plan so that’s an excellent start! Take it on a day by day basis and if you stray, don’t sweat it, just guide yourself back to your path 👍

@TerroristToddler How frustrating! When we are near goal it’s always harder to lose that last bit! The important thing is to keep going 🙃 I can’t remember when your weight loss journey started but I’ve noticed you’ve lost nearly a stone. Congratulations 🥳👏

@Fellsbells Weve all had those days. Fingers crossed you get a whoosh when you do WOW 👍

@LighterSpring25 I think some people have used the TDEE calculator (total daily energy expenditure) but I'm a bit sceptical that it will lead to weight loss!

I'm 5'3 too and I reckon 1200 is the goal- that way if I go a bit over, it doesn't matter as much, because I'm in that 1,200-1,400 range!

I'm down to 81.4, first goal is 77.7. That's 5.3 kg since 11th March.

StealthyBMI · 16/04/2025 13:58

Morning all - I have been absent for a couple of weeks so have lost track of the thread. Went away for a few days last week for a little mini break which did involve a lot of alcohol and some poor food choices BUT a couple of days in, I really felt disgusting from eating too much bread, meat and cheese so made a conscious effort to eat some salads and cut back on sugary treats. Combined with a lot of walking, and I've managed a 0.5KG loss in the last fortnight (didn't WOW last week as I was away.) Current weight 76.3KG so 4.3kg to get to goal weight - I'm still just off my 2st loss but hoping to get there by next WOW or the one after. Happy with a small loss for now. Was back at the gym last night too.
Good luck everyone avoiding confectionary this weekend, or trying to moderate! Well done to all the losers, stay strong maintainers, and stay focussed gainers!

Thank you. I’m hopeful the tracking will help. I start on Monday. I eat probably 90%+ of my meals as home cooked from scratch. The odd pre-made sauce (tonight was satay) but loads of veg and I try and go light on the carbs.

LemonDrizzle23 · 16/04/2025 20:02

Weighed first thing, but slow checking in. Looks like a slow week for a lot of us!

A whole 100g off for me. But as we’ve been away for a week, I’ll take it.

SW: 98.9kg
CW: 94.1kg

LBB2020 · 16/04/2025 23:06

Better day today! Stuck to three meals no snacks, completed a C25K run and have ended the day at over 16,000 steps!
We're going away for the Easter weekend so I won’t be weighing in over the weekend

TheWayTheLightFalls · 17/04/2025 07:34

Morning. Weighed again this morning and down a bit overnight which is good to see - hopefully that holiday gain won't stick around for long.

Soup for lunch, possibly a ready meal + veg for dinner, and a big dog walk in the middle of the day to get my steps in.

TheRealHousewife · 17/04/2025 07:53

Good Morning All

Welcome back @StealthyBMI You’ll soon be at your next milestone 👍

@QueenMabby Sounds like you’ve got it covered. I really think lower carb is the way to go. Keeping blood sugars balanced and not spiking insulin provides the opportunity to burn body fat (if in calorie deficit) Don’t get me wrong in no way do I advocate for a full on Ketogenic diet as we need carbs/fibre for a healthy gut; I concentrate on whole grains such as quinoa and plenty of legumes, seeds and nuts which provide healthy carbs, healthy fats and the all important protein. I have the occasional gluten free cob but not everyday. 👍

@LemonDrizzle23 You're making steady progress 👌

@LBB2020 Fabulous step count! 👏

The holiday weight gain … It will soon disappear @TheWayTheLightFalls 🙃

Menu
Meal 1 - Boiled egg & salmon salad.
Meal 2 - Chicken tray bake. Greek yoghurt & raspberries.
Drinks - Tea, black coffee with collagen, water.
