Following on from LOSE IT! Awesome August

Drum roll please! Now it’s the time for an Autumn Re-set!

If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost nearly 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am idling around 9st 4lbs after having been hovering around 8st 12lb for several months. TIME FOR ACTION and get back on it! 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes.

SW: 11st 5
CW: 11st 4
GW: 10st 5

Had a small victory earlier. A very minor negative event coincided with leftover pizza from dcs’ dinner and I had a familiar flash of grabbing a slice as comfort eating. But I recognised it and told myself don’t be silly, you’ve got a nice dinner to have later, don’t eat that. Hurrah.

HomemadeHallie · 04/09/2024 22:05

Fasted 14 hours today, ended fast early as was wfh and hungry! Have just done 45 min yoga stretch before bed and thats my movement for today done!

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 04/09/2024 22:30

Hi everyone, I’m really struggling to get my mojo back. Partly because I had some bad news and am just crazy busy at work, and also because I have four busy social things back to back this week and a weekend away next week so it’s going to be impossible to calorie count and exercise. I need a good week that I can really focus on getting into the groove.

I’m sitting at around 10st 6 just now and my first goal is to get to 10st though my ideal is around 9 1/2. I did have a healthy diet day and managed to get a bodycombat class in - it was pretty lacklustre but at least I did it. Harrumph. But will keep on the thread and try to get that mojo back!

Fellsbells · 04/09/2024 23:10

I nearly forgot it was WOW. Well done everyone.

SW 10st 10lb
CW 9st 6lb
GW ? Maybe 9st 3lb

B yoghurt and fruit
L egg, toast and avocado
D chicken, salad and chips. Unfortunately I also ate quite a bit of chocolate this evening, it’s not ideal, but it was nice.

10k steps. 30 mins weighted exercise.

A few people have started to comment that I’ve lost weight which makes me feel self conscious tbh.

PatienceOfEngels · 05/09/2024 06:27

To demonstrate how yo-yoing my weight is day-to-day....today I am suddenly 0.4kg down on Wow 😅

Just done sunrise yoga (though cloudy so no sun - so dark I saw a bat!).

Have a crazy hectic day today...getting both kids to different schools, reintegration meeting for DC1, full day of teaching including an event with students until 8pm. Have made soup for my students and will also be having soup for lunch with colleagues today!

B-boiled egg, rye toast, coffee
S - fruit and veg plate
L - surprise soup with bread/spreads
D-leek and potato soup with bread/spreads/dips

Yoga done (on day 6 of a 30 day programme for September) and will be cycling to and from DC1 school (20mins total). Didn't quite get to 10,000 steps in yesterday so will see how I get on at work today

TheRealHousewife · 05/09/2024 14:37

Good Afternoon Everyone ❤️

@PatienceOfEngels Thats a fabulous surprise👏I’d like a surprise like that 😬

@Caeneus A fantastic swerve on the pizza which isn’t always easy; well done 👏

Menu
Meal 1 - Avocado on gf seed & nut bread. Greek yoghurt.
Mea 2 - Home made chicken burger and side salad.

Tea, black coffee and water.

Hi all, varied day here. Eaten fairly well but also enjoyed some wine 😬. Salad and fruit for lunch, then chicken and veg for dinner. Walked a bit more than yesterday too - up to 7,000 steps which I know is nothing compared with some of you but for a working day that’s not too bad. So not all bad! Hope everyone’s had a good day.

TheRealHousewife · 05/09/2024 21:48

Hi @Iamnotaloggrip I think 7000 is an awesome amount, especially on a working day 👍

I walked 13 miles but had a chippy chip barm for dinner. I didn't eat all the chips and swear that the amount of chips varies. Sometimes I can eat it all but sometimes I can't. I feel much less guilty when I can't! For those reading my 13 miles and thinking wtf, that's not my normal at all. I had to run an extra errand for my mum today which took me past the chippy so there about 3 extra miles in there. I am shattered. Dd is ill and the first week back at school with those hills is taking it out of me.

I had porridge with chia for breakfast as did ds. Lunch was chocolate hobnobs and a cup of tea. Not a great day but breakfast was good, no snacks and I walked a half marathon so I'm ok with that.

Big welcome to the newbies!

Fellsbells · 05/09/2024 23:55

Mostly good day for me.

B- egg, toast, avocado
L- halloumi, veg tagine
D- rice, lamb curry and nann. Chocolate bar.

11k steps and 30 min work out.

I tried on some old dresses hoping they might fit for an event next week and they did. It’s nice getting my old body back.

toofatwontfit · 06/09/2024 12:00

Weighed in this morning and I (obviously) put on weight during the two and a bit weeks I had off, but that's ok. Back on it again!

SW 13st 5.8
CW 12st 9.4
GW 11st 7

I'm hoping the other bit of excess weight comes back off next week and week after, which would be me down to 12st 5, and then I can start again!

Hope everyone had had a good week!

@rainbow616 gosh I could have written this exact post! My starting weight and current weight (well, and goal weight give or take) are all the same as you AND I’ve just had two weeks off! I was down at 12 stone 7 before that so currently just trying to get back down to that. I’ve been back on track for two full days, this is the third, and feeling good on the whole :-)

rainbow616 · 06/09/2024 18:24

@OneDayIWillLearn that is so strange!! Glad you're getting back on track!

MeAgainAndAgain · 06/09/2024 20:06

I was on the August thread, but forgot to weigh in for the last two weeks. I’m hoping to remember this Wednesday……

OneDayIWillLearn · 06/09/2024 22:56

My OH was out this evening so I bought myself a really nice lean steak and made my own oven chips and crispy kale with a glass of red wine. He’s a veggie and we never eat meat at home but for some reason I’d been fancying a steak! It was so delicious, all pointed up on WW and all the more enjoyable for the fact that I haven’t been stuffing my face all week.

and yes, the dog did get some once I was full up. Couldn’t resist….

Iamnotaloggrip · 07/09/2024 06:24

That looks delicious @OneDayIWillLearn! And what a gorgeous dog.

Another salad for lunch yesterday (luckily I love them!) and then salmon, risotto and courgette for dinner. A bit of chocolate and a glass of wine. Got up to about 7,000 steps again.

Not sure about today yet - it’s DS’s birthday tomorrow so my parents are around all weekend and we’ll probably go out at some point. And of course there will be cake…😋😩. I am going out on my bike today though which should help!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

PatienceOfEngels · 07/09/2024 07:37

Looks delicious @OneDayIWillLearn !

I really didn't want to cook last night - was exhausted, weather hot and humid again (I really do wish summer would get lost! I hate the heat). The kids suggested McDonald's...I did not give in!

I butterflied and then pan-fried some seasoned chicken with pesto, made some tzatziki, cucumber salad, and we had Greek chicken wraps (also with lettuce and olives). Had a real craving for dessert but was too lazy to make anything. So exhausted that I fell asleep on the sofa at 9:15 so no evening eating (WIN!).

Keeping up with my daily yoga and managed to hit my steps goal yesterday. Getting some cycling in today for errands (live in the Netherlands with amazing bike routes but have only this year got a new bike and making up for it!).

No idea on what to eat today...probably sausage with potatoes and beans for tea, leftover chicken salad in a sandwich for lunch?

After a crazy week this weekend is all about rest.

TheRealHousewife · 07/09/2024 09:44

Good Morning All

@MeAgainAndAgain Welcome back 👍

@OneDayIWillLearn Lovely pic! Pleased you enjoyed your steak and I’m sure it was what your body needed as it was craving it 😋

@PatienceOfEngels The chicken dinner sounds very tasty! Hope you get some well deserved rest this weekend 👍

Menu
Meal 1 - Mushroom omelette. Walnuts.
Meal 2 - Chicken swanhana (spelling totally wrong but I know what it means 😅) Sugar free jelly & Greek yoghurt.

Tea, black coffee, water.

Cute dog!

Good day yesterday, I had fish and chips, and as I’d missed lunch I was still within calories. There’s lots of nice food in the fridge for the weekend for me to make healthy choices.

After a week off I’ve got back into working out for 30mins a day and I actually enjoy it now. I’ve built up some muscle so it’s not as difficult.

My every day jeans are now too loose and my belt is too long. I’m apprehensive to commit to new clothes though as in the back of my mind I think this will all go wrong and I’ll gain the weight back.

@Fellsbells i know what you mean, I’ve got a ‘big’ bra I bought in May when all my usual bras had got to the too small/ spillover point. It’s been too big since late June but I can’t quite bring myself to chuck it as I feel like it’d jinx me somehow and then I’ll need it! So I’m keeping it out of pure superstition at the moment….

PatienceOfEngels · 07/09/2024 15:40

In January I bought 2 pairs of jeans - one in a 12 and one in a 14. I kept both because the 14 fitted then. Within a month I was in the 12, but then 3 months later back in the 14.

This is why my wardrobe is full of clothes in so many sizes!!

Fellsbells · 07/09/2024 17:32

Me too! That’s what I think will happen to me. I’ve got so many things that have been too tight for years I just assume I’ll need a big size again when I lose the plot and start eating like an 18 year old rugby player again.
