Following on from LOSE IT! Awesome August

Drum roll please! Now it’s the time for an Autumn Re-set!

If you’re a returner or a new starter feel free to jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost nearly 4 stones. After having been on the wrong side of 12st I am idling around 9st 4lbs after having been hovering around 8st 12lb for several months. TIME FOR ACTION and get back on it! 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes.

Hi! I’m doing sugar free September starting tomorrow after a horrible sugar binge today (fuelled largely by period cravings) so this thread is well-timed!

I’m short and not exercising atm for various reason so finding 1200 calories is just maintaining for me.

I’ll be eating 900-1100 calories a day for the next 4 weeks. I know that’s low for some but works for me - so good to hear it’s a non-judgmental thread as we are all so different.

SW: 13 stone /83Kg
CW: 10 stone 9/68Kg
GW: 10 stone/ 64Kg

Hoping to lose a few more inches off my waist too.

Fellsbells · 01/09/2024 21:37

Ending the weekend with food that I would have eaten all the time a few months ago (crisps, pizza, chocolate etc) It’s taken me over my calorie allowance for the day, but a few bad days won’t undo all the work I’ve put in so far. I’ll get back on track tomorrow. I’m not looking forward to the carb/water weight ob the scales tomorrow, but it is what it is and will soon cone off again.

TheRealHousewife · 01/09/2024 22:44

Hi All

I hope all you ladies with school age children see them off this week without a hitch! And exhale! Now’s the time to think about getting back into your regular routines and snatch some time for yourselves. You’re worth it!

@OneDayIWillLearn You’ve taken a tough step and faced your demons by stepping on the scale. Well done! You’re right in that the extra weight won’t all be fat, but rather waste, water and stuff. A week of clean eating will see a good chunk of the gain gone!

@LegoTherapy Sorry to read about your recent bereavement 💔

Welcome to the new thread @MsMarple @ayvasili @Fellsbells @Caeneus @LemonDrizzle23 @SkyeBlue28 @Iamnotaloggrip @HomemadeHallie @WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @RedBlackBlue @Loseitlikelollo

Sweet dreams 😴

Afternoon!

Today:
-boiled egg and rye toast w butter and coffee
-plate of fruit/veg
-homemade falafel wrap with salad and garlic sauce (found great flatbread recipe that keeps well and doesn't go crunchy overnight)
-slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake
-spaghetti bolognese
-lots of water

25 minutes of yoga at 6am.
Scorching here today and due to storm this evening so might not walk.

LemonDrizzle23 · 02/09/2024 13:43

Today is dragging. DS was up vomiting in the night for no readily apparent reason. He's been fine since he got up this morning. Thankfully still another two days til school!

I was already tired - now I'm properly shattered. My one concession to this has been a can of full sugar, full caffeine coke. Everything else still continuing as planned so far.

TheRealHousewife · 02/09/2024 14:40

@PatienceOfEngels Wow yoga at 6:00am! Impressive! 👏. I’m usually awake by 6:00 but definitely not ready for the day.

Sorry to read your little one was poorly @LemonDrizzle23 . Hope he soon recovers and you both get a good nights sleep tonight 👍. I definitely don’t eat as well if I get sleep deprived.

Guys I'm another pound down today so I'm 13 stones 12 !

Fellsbells · 02/09/2024 17:21

Another not great day. I’m slipping into bad habits. There’s too many nice treats in the house that I’ve ended up snacking on this afternoon. Maintaining is flipping hard.

Rhinohorn · 02/09/2024 18:03

B - nothing as IF and don't eat until 12
L - scrambled egg & x2 ham slices
D - baked chicken breast, baked sweet potato & salad (no dressing)
S - X2 ginger nut biscuits

Exercise - 4 mile walk

Missrosie123 · 02/09/2024 18:33

Hi all
I will join you. I’m late 40’s and weight has piled on over last few years. I keep trying to loose weight with various diets but only last a few weeks. It’s now starting to affect my health. I’ve read the book - the 4 pillar plan and I’m going to try to follow this. I feel motivated and today is my first day.

SW 14.5
CW 14.5
GW 10.5

Good luck to everyone.

Iamnotaloggrip · 02/09/2024 20:41

Houmous and veg for lunch, with yoghurt and berries afterwards. Just had fish and roasted veg for tea. No starter cheese! But I did succumb to some of my favourite chocolates that were brought into work which I enjoyed at the time but am kicking myself for now.

@PatienceOfEngels I'd love that flatbread recipe please if you don't mind sharing.

Editing to say I also managed a two mile walk at lunchtime!

When I ate one today I just sprinkled it with water and gave it 30 seconds in the microwave to soften up. Stored overnight in a plastic bag.

PatienceOfEngels · 02/09/2024 20:46

@TheRealHousewife at the moment the only way I can fit in yoga is by doing it before the kids get up. Sure I'm going to have to switch to candlelit evening yoga as the nights draw in.

HomemadeHallie · 02/09/2024 22:00

Day 1 done ✅
Fasted 17 hours
Lunch: roast courgette and chickpea dish
Dinner: plaice and green beans
Snacks: Huel Banana Drink, Fruit & a Babybel
Calories: 1400 odd

Did 20 mins of dumbbell workout this morning (Penny Barnshaw). 20 mins of a 40 min video so stopped halfway, had really low energy.

20 min yoga stretch just now before bed.

Guys I'm another pound down today so I'm 13 stones 12 !

Well done @Accbabymom1994!

Not an amazing day for me today calorie wise but I've been mindful of what I've been eating. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my days off with dd, so will be doing my yoga when she's napping in the mornings. I took the dog out at quarter past six this morning before I started work, and I'm glad I did. I felt so much better when I got back.

Hope everyone had a good Monday!

FrostedCupcakes · 02/09/2024 22:36

I'd love to join in!

I struggled with my weight and PND since my DD was born in 2022, reached a point this year where I knew something had to change! So, since June I've been IF (16:8), low carbs, attempting 10K steps (hard as I WFH a lot!), and going the gym when I find time!

CW: 12st 10 lbs | 178lbs

LegoTherapy · 03/09/2024 00:34

The oats and chia are in the fridge ready for breakfast porridge in the morning. I'm bloated after eating too much red pepper hummus and breadsticks and salted crisps. I need to up my water to flush out the salt before Wednesday weigh in.

@TheRealHousewife thank you. I'm still reeling really but with the routine of school and normality I'll soon settle down as will ds. It's hung over the summer holidays with him dying just before the break and the funeral being right at the end. I think we've had a good holiday despite the circumstances. I'm sorry things have been tricky for you too and hope you're ok.

TheRealHousewife · 03/09/2024 06:55

Good Morning

Welcome to the thread @Missrosie123 @FrostedCupcakes 👋

@Accbabymom1994 Well done, that’s great! 👍

@HomemadeHallie How are you generally? Do you regularly get low energy or is it a new thing? I’m certainly not questioning your diet/food intake or fasting regime but could it be related? Here’s hoping you feel more energised today ❤️

Ive got back into the habit of ‘setting my intentions’ for the following day as it does make me more mindful. Im going to follow @PatienceOfEngels example (of exercising earlier in the day) by doing a few yoga poses when I first rise 🧘‍♀️. It won’t be as 6:00 😬 I’ve planned small sessions of 5 mins rather than trying to do a longer session in one hit.

@LegoTherapy Thank you 🙂

Menu
Meal 1 - Red pepper omelette with side salad.
Meal 2 - Heck sausage, carrots, kale, broccoli & cauliflower. Gravy. Dessert.
Tea, black coffee and water.

Exercise
Session 1 - Yoga
Session 2 - Hand Weights
Session 3 - ?

Morning!

Hope you got your poses in @TheRealHousewife . I was on the deck at 6am again. Really enjoy having that quiet time before I face the day.

Plan for today:

B - boiled egg, rye toast, coffee
No morning snack
L - creamy tagliatelle with spinach, mushrooms, garlic
Slice of home-made lemon drizzle
D - beef bean burritos with salad, cheese and creme fraiche

Lots of water

Morning yoga - done!
Morning walk
Cycle for errands

My aim for today is to make sure I spend 30 minutes relaxing away from a screen while the kids are at school - either reading/crafting/colouring. have a tonne of chores to get done but must make time to switch off.

LegoTherapy · 03/09/2024 07:23

Morning all. A gain this morning thanks to eating salty crisps over the last 2 days. It will go again. Im adding too much sugar to my porridge but it's the first day back at school and a shock to the system to be eating at this time. I'll have less tomorrow. I want to get into soups again so if anyone has any veggie soup recipes they'd like to share that round be great. Preferably blended ones or ones that could be blended. I'm going to make a chocolate fudge cake this week because I promised Dd. I'll try not to eat too much of it but can't promise anything. It's great for breakfast!
My Fitbit is on and ready for the first day back.
Hope everyone has a great day.

RedBlackBlue · 03/09/2024 07:31

Morning everyone.

Tried to step on the scales yesterday but the battery had died! I still 'started' with my plan of eating within calories though and have weighed in this morning.

SW 15st11.6
CW 15st11.6
GW - Not sure on this yet.

Its my Oldest DC birthday today, so his choice of meals and there will be cake. I will only have a small piece of cake, and have modified the meals to try and stay within calories, but think I might end up slightly over today. Its all good though, and I am doing a gym/exercise class later tonight too so that will counteract the cake 😂

Fellsbells · 03/09/2024 08:56

Also aiming to get back on track today after a relaxed (long) weekend.

Did a work out last night and starting the day only 1.5lbs over GW so won’t be long until I’m back below it.
