A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

Hello all. 7.5kg in less that 3 weeks is excellent @GrammarTeacher
Hope your mobility continues to improve @ShinyPikachu
Great self control @Sunshineandrainbow
@DuckWithOneWing I visit the park regularly with my dgc but will only sit on the swings when it is just us because my behind just about fits on the seat and if it wasn't for denim holding me in, bits of my flab would ooze between the chains holding the seats!

Week 5
SW(17.3.25) - 108.6kg
CW - 101.3kg
Loss this week - 1kg
Lossto date - 7.3kg

Thanks, unsurprisingly I’ve now has a bit of a plateau (not least because being back at school means less time for exercise!).

DuckWithOneWing · 28/04/2025 03:02

My partner is in hospital. It's very serious (he arrived by helicopter) but hopefully we're past the life threatening stage.

Sunshineandrainbow · 28/04/2025 07:22

Oh my goodness @DuckWithOneWing was he involved in an accident?
Glad he is past the life threatening stage, that sounds positive.
Thinking of you and wishing him a good recovery.

Take good care 💞

PreesHeath · 28/04/2025 13:16

Blimey @DuckWithOneWing hope you are doing OK. What a shock!

peonym · 28/04/2025 17:01

@DuckWithOneWingsending you love - really hope all is ok x

DuckWithOneWing · 28/04/2025 17:44

He was in a motorbike accident. He's just been taken down to theatre. In general he's doing so much better today but we're still having set backs.

Readinstead · 29/04/2025 01:00

@DuckWithOneWing I hope your partner is continuing to improve and that you are okay as well. Hugs

Sunshineandrainbow · 29/04/2025 07:20

Morning @DuckWithOneWing I hope the surgery went well and was a success.

I hope you have a settled day 💐

peonym · 29/04/2025 10:33

@DuckWithOneWinghope the surgery went well and you’re hanging in there x

peonym · 29/04/2025 10:34

Welcome back @Thejugglestrugglethats an incredible loss! I am similar although had a pregnancy in the middle so it’s all taken quite some time. Would love to get into the 12s (currently hovering around 13,2).

sounds like a very realistic goal!

Thank you so much! And congratulations to you too - especially having a baby in the middle of it all!
For the first time in a long time, I'm looking forward to summer with no thought about how I'm going to cope in the heat/what will I wear.

@DuckWithOneWing I'm so sorry to hear this. How is your partner now? Sending you lots of love x

DuckWithOneWing · 30/04/2025 19:16

Things are slowly getting better. He's a lot more lucid today and his pain is definitely better controlled. They're talking about getting him out of bed tomorrow, which seems so much quicker than I would have hoped for. He's broken many ribs, punctured a lung and got significant damage to his spleen. So it could have been worse but he's still got a decent set of injuries.

Readinstead · 01/05/2025 13:10

@DuckWithOneWing my dd cracked her ribs at uni many years ago and she still says it is the worst pain she has ever had and that includes childbirth. I remember it took at least 3 months for them to heal. Your partner with his other injuries as well is in for a rough few months - poor man.
@Thejugglestruggle that is a great loss. I am always impressed when someone stalls but starts again. I am fine when I am losing but the carrying on after plateaus I find very hard.
Week 6
SW - 108.6 kg
CW - 100.3kg
Loss this week - 1kg
Loss to date - 8.3kg

Readinstead · 08/05/2025 10:26

Hello all. Not a good week this week because I had slackened off a bit with the calorie counting and the snacking had increased. I stayed at 100.3kg for 5 days then had a 0.7kg increase on Tuesday morning which was a wake up call. I ate better on Tuesday and lost 0.6kg and ate strictly to plan yesterday and have lost another 0.6kg this morning so an overall loss of 0.5kg this week which is not bad, but should have been double that. I am irritated with myself for letting the snacking creep back in especially as it was an extra bag of crisps and the odd kit kat etc when I had been snacking on carrot sticks or a few grapes. Anyway, moan over and onwards.

Week 7
SW - 108.6kg
CW - 99.8kg
Loss this week - 0.5kg
Loss to date 8.8kg

peonym · 10/05/2025 11:24

@DuckWithOneWinghope the recovery is going well and thinking of you both still.

@Readinsteadi feel similarly with the snacking!! It’s tough. But a loss is a loss is a loss so well done!

I feel like I’ve stalled. Sitting at 12,13 can’t shift it for love nor money. Running 5k 3x a week and my diet isn’t too bad. Hoping for a windfall soon but it’s kind of disheartening right now!

caringcarer · 10/05/2025 12:00

sandyhappypeople · 26/04/2024 18:13

I’m new to this one, but have 4 stone to lose, I lost 7 stone previously, but 3 stone crept back after having our daughter.. she’s 3 now though so time to start getting my arse in gear properly!

when I lost the weight before I found the sweet cravings after a meal too hard to deal with so started having a hot chocolate straight after a meal.. I know it’s not healthy, but it stopped my immediate craving, and seemed to stop my sweet tooth kicking in later in the evening too!

I've found eating one single square of very dark chocolate, after my final meal, which is quite bitter takes my sweet tooth away.

DuckWithOneWing · 13/05/2025 21:11

He's now home! He's able to walk around the house slowly but needs a lot of support. He's also struggling to eat, so I'm cooking his favourite meals to try to get calories into him (this involves a lot of cheese). I haven't been focussed on diet and have done little exercise but am surprisingly still at my target weight.

peonym · 14/05/2025 22:38

Brilliant news @DuckWithOneWing. I know you’ve a journey ahead but this sounds like a really positive step.

just checking in, feeling a bit blurgh. No real updates at all. Would love to continue to lose 1lb a week over the summer but I’m drinking a little more now (blaming the good weather) and my husband has slipped back into bad habits of buying too many treats for the house!

in other news im close to a 6 stone loss from when I started on this thread. Literally life changing. Silly things like I don’t worry about airplane seats, or taking up too much space on the bus. And I can actually feel good in some of the “trends” I never would have dreamed of before - my wardrobe is overflowing with summer gear now. I also love running which is great. It’s been such a long journey so far (not over yet) and I want to cry when thinking about it all. Sorry, I’m overly emotional tonight - it’s been a long day 🤣 all this to say, thanks to this group for all the support so far.

SW: 18,10
CW: 12,12
GW: 11,7 (I think)

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 16/05/2025 09:53

Hi all! Started again about a month ago, not deliberately (glandular fever has destroyed my appetite and I used it as an opportunity to start losing weight again 🤣). Since April 23rd I've lost just shy of 5kg so a move in the right direction for sure!

peonym · 16/05/2025 14:49

Brilliant @iwentjasonwaterfalls! Glandular fever is grim so I agree take all the silver linings you can ha! Hope you’re feeling a bit better now. Fantastic start 🥳

Readinstead · 17/05/2025 16:01

Glad your partner is recovering {mention:DuckWithOneWing}@DuckWithOneWing and I hope you can take time to look after yourself as well.
@peonym when you said about not worrying about taking up too much space on the bus really resonated with me. I recently stood at the back at my dgc's class assembly rather than sit next to one of the parents I chat to because it meant sitting between two people and possibly making them uncomfortably squashed. I then had to apologise to the friendly parent for being rude as she waved at me as I came in and clearly expected me to sit by her, which I realised after I had stood at the back 🤦🏼‍♀️.
I hope you have a great time wearing your lovely new clothes!
Hi @iwentjasonwaterfalls hope you are completely recovered from the glandular fever. 5kg is a great start.
I have had a good week with regard to sticking to my eating plan but started with a nasty cold on Wednesday evening and spent most of Thursday and Friday in bed or on the sofa. Food was limited and I know the very good loss this morning will go back on now I am eating again. I did weigh on Thursday morning so will post that 2 days late
Week 8
SW - 108.3kg
CW (15/5) - 98.3kg
Loss this week - 1.5kg
Loss to date - 10.3kg

I have hit my first target - to weigh under 100kg (which I mentally changed to be to lose 10kg). My next target is to lose another 10kg. Next gw is 88.6 kg or 195.4lbs which is both under 200 lbs and a whisker (0.6lb) under 14 stones.

Readinstead · 22/05/2025 16:38

Hello all, it's been a bit quiet on here this week, I hope you are all okay.

Week 9
SW - 108.6kg
CW - 96.7kg
Loss this week - 1.6kg
Loss to date - 11.9kg.

Dh caught my nasty cold and as he regularly visits a relative in a care home, he tested for Covid and it came up positive straighaway. My result was a faint line after 15 minutes or so and clear 2 days later. Dh is still positive.

I would love to lose a kg this week which will bring me to a 2 stones loss but we have a meal out on Sunday for our wedding anniversary and I am not calorie counting that meal - I am just going to enjoy it!

AITAH10 · 23/05/2025 13:51

Been a while since I posted but I had an awful never ending easter where I put on 23lbs over a month and ive just lost it all and on ( mostly) the right track

Readinstead · 29/05/2025 09:48

Hello all, hope you are okay. @AITAH10 glad you are back on track.
Week 10
SW - 108.6kg
CW - 96.3kg
Loss this week - 0.4kg
Loss to date - 12.3kg

iwentjasonwaterfalls · 29/05/2025 13:40

Hi all, glandular fever still kicking my arse and feels never ending right now but looking on the bright side, 1 stone down since April 23rd, now I just need to never put it back on again 😅
