A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

Good loss @peonym

I had the stirfy, bit of a cheat with an M and S pea shoot stirfry bag, Quorn sweet chilli fillets and some hosin sauce. I actually really enjoyed it I think I have gone wrong in the past as cooked it too long.

Readinstead · 03/04/2025 20:04

It's nice to read about the losses and I hope you are feeing better Sunshineandrainbow.

Week 2

Hope everyone is doing ok. I’ve not been so great. Been totally housebound for almost a month with the flu and as a result I’ve gained so much weight and my mobility is practically zero. Feels like I’m back to the start and it’s so demotivating. I’m slowly working on trying to be more active again rather than focusing on the scales but every step I take is absolute agony so it’s very slow going. I think there’s still something lingering after the flu as even the smallest effort is causing me to be totally out of breath. I’ll still try to pop in though as being here will definitely help me try to get motivated again. I’m actually going to try to leave the house for a small walk today so wish me luck.

Don't give up! You can make positive changes bit by bit.

Sunshineandrainbow · 05/04/2025 11:50

Oh @ShinyPikachu so sorry to hear you have been poorly, sounds like it has really knocked it out of you.

Did you manage to do your walk, I hope you enjoyed it? Please be kind to yourself and take small steps. Try and make a plan for some tasty food that will nourish you. I would also step away from the scales for a short time, focus on getting better 💞

Hope you feel better soon i totally understand how a set back can be demotivating when I put on i hate realising it can be weeks to lose it again

AITAH10 · 05/04/2025 21:21

So got a fitbit last Sunday night. With doing my extra steps I'm averaging just over 7000 a day and samsung says the average for people in my age range is 5000.

Really hoping for a big loss this week

peonym · 06/04/2025 09:04

@ShinyPikachuso sorry to hear you’ve had such a rough time. I hope the little bits of walking are helping 🙏🏻 you’ll get back again, it’s not the same uphill battle you’ve already started!

Readinstead · 06/04/2025 10:03

@ShinyPikachu I'm sorry to hear you've been so ill and hope you feel better soon.

DuckWithOneWing · 06/04/2025 23:45

I have reached my target weight and so am no longer focusing on weightloss. Actually I achieved it a week ago, but it seems so strange and surreal that I'm half convinced the scales are just playing a trick on me. I'm now a size 10. I really couldn't have done it without the help of all of you on this thread and I'm so grateful for all of the support and motivation along the way.

JumpingIntoLCHF · 07/04/2025 07:39

Well done @DuckWithOneWing

Readinstead · 07/04/2025 13:53

Congratulations @DuckWithOneWing. It's lovely to hear sucess stories - all the hard work has been worth it!

StHilarion · 08/04/2025 20:01

Well done @DuckWithOneWing

ShinyPikachu · 08/04/2025 21:02

Well done @DuckWithOneWing - you’ve done brilliantly!

Thanks everyone for the kind wishes. I did get out for a short walk. Ended up really sore so stayed in all weekend but managed another walk yesterday. I’m purposely choosing routes where I know I can sit down on benches every little stretch and that’s helping a lot. I had a rest day today but going to try to get out again tomorrow. I want to take full advantage of the lovely weather we’ve been having while I can.

3.5 in a week is good!

Readinstead · 10/04/2025 09:30

Glad you are starting to get your mobility back @ShinyPikachu .
3.5 lbs is good for a week @AITAH10 and adding exercise is a good thing. I am still at the thinking stage with regard to exercise! I am making small changes, ie parking further away from school at pick up times and taking the dgc to the park afterwards (opposite direction to where I park) so my walking is increasing a little and I am trying to do a few stretching exercises etc at home. I know I need to do more but exercising eats into my reading time 😁.

Week 3
SW (17.3.25) - 108.6kg
CW - 103.4kg
Loss this week - 1.3kg
Loss to date - 5.2kg

peonym · 11/04/2025 10:48

@DuckWithOneWingso lovely to hear this. Such a success story - massive well done!

@AITAH10you’re doing brilliantly, not so slow and steady!

@Readinsteadlove the small changes. Great loss to date.

ive plateaued! Expected, considering I had a bit of a bumper week a couple of weeks ago with the bug. But frustrating none the less. I’m still “running” a couple of times a week and squeezing in a peloton cycle too. Eating probably the same, but clearly my body is just going through something - it needs to learn to let go 😅

im also going to change my goal weight. It had been in a healthy BMI bracket but actually I think my goal might be slightly higher - I’ve never really been that size and the slightly higher but still fit probably works well for me.

SW: 18,10
CW: 13,5
GW: 11,4

Readinstead · 18/04/2025 10:08

Hello all. I didn't have time to post yesterday but I did weigh in. Unfortunately afer a week of daily losses, I gained 0.2 on Thursday which meant I was a few ounces from losing my first stone, but a good loss today means that the first stone has gone.

SW (17.3.25) - 108.6kg
CW (17.4.25) - 102.3kg
Loss this week - 1.1kg
Loss to date - 6.3kg

GrammarTeacher · 18/04/2025 10:16

Hi all, I’m now 7.5kg down from 31st March.
SW - 131.6kg (I know!)
CW- 124.1kg
target - absolutely no idea.

ShinyPikachu · 18/04/2025 10:27

Well done everyone!

I’m still working on mobility and I know I haven’t been eating the best throughout either. I’ve started looking at the scales again but I’ve promised myself to not get disappointed whatever they say and I’m not recording anything yet. I just wanted to get an idea of where I was. We had a few days of bad weather when I couldn’t get out for a walk but it’s been nice again the last day or two.

I also put my movement goals really low on my Apple Watch for now and it’s actually making me feel good when it tells me I’ve met my goal even on a short walk. As I get out more and more I’ll start increasing the limits on it again.

Been struggling recently, was in Sainsbury's yesterday and there was a pack of 6 mixed fresh cream cakes heavily reduced. I carried them round the shop thinking about eating them, knowing no one else in the house would eat them and they would all be mine. Then decided to put them back and if I wanted something like that I should buy a smaller pack. I didn't buy a smaller pack, proud of myself.

Congratulations @DuckWithOneWing you have smashed this and worked so hard. I am so so pleased for you.

DuckWithOneWing · 21/04/2025 15:42

@Sunshineandrainbow well done on avoiding the cakes!

Today I'm visiting family who I don't see often. We went for a long walk through the park, and then I ended up being dragged onto the kids play equipment. I actually fit on the swings. Overall it was a lot of fun, and so much easier than before.

Readinstead · 24/04/2025 23:51

Hello all. 7.5kg in less that 3 weeks is excellent @GrammarTeacher
Hope your mobility continues to improve @ShinyPikachu
Great self control @Sunshineandrainbow
@DuckWithOneWing I visit the park regularly with my dgc but will only sit on the swings when it is just us because my behind just about fits on the seat and if it wasn't for denim holding me in, bits of my flab would ooze between the chains holding the seats!

Week 5
SW(17.3.25) - 108.6kg
CW - 101.3kg
Loss this week - 1kg
Lossto date - 7.3kg

Thejugglestruggle · 25/04/2025 13:51

Hiya!

I hope you're all well. I think I last posted on this board at the end of January! Where has this year gone so far!? I have had a bit of a bumpy 2025 in lots of ways but luckily in early March, I turned things around in terms of my weight loss. I am now 6 stone down, having lost another stone so far this year. Here are my numbers:

Start - 18 stone 10lbs (BMI 41)
Current - 12 stone 10lbs (BMI 27.9)
Goal - 12 stone

I am now in all my size 12 jeans and I am feeling so much better in myself. My initial hope was to get to 12 stone, which is now only 10lbs away!!! I would like to get to 12 stone before then deciding if I do want to push that bit further. 12 stone seemed so far away at my start weight that I really want to celebrate hitting that goal when I get there, rather than push out the goal now because I'm closer. I think I'll set the end of June as my goal, and then reassess.

I hope you're all feeling strong in your journeys. Best of luck x
