A big welcome to anyone who wants to join us on bigger weight loss journeys.

We are all following our own methods, whatever works for each of us and no judgment for anyone who falls off the wagon for a bit either. We've all been there and know we're on a marathon and not a sprint.

Part three, let's go!

Well done @ShinyPikachu - half the battle is weighing in when you aren't feeling great. Hope you're doing ok.

Weigh in on Wednesday for me and I think I've gained this week as I had a short break away over Halloween. We shall see!

I bought 2 new pairs of jeans in size 16 and would love to be in them by Christmas.

peonym · 06/11/2024 10:32

Hi everyone

Just checking in. I was away over Halloween so didn't expect much of a loss this week. Really would love to get a few lbs off in November to go into Christmas as light as I've been in recent years!

SW: 18,7
CW: 15,8
GW: 10,7

Next goal is to see 14 something...

Sunshineandrainbow · 07/11/2024 18:30

Hi everyone.
Got the new batteries for my scales but not put them in yet as need to find a tiny screwdriver.

I think I have felt proper hunger this week which I know sounds strange. Before I would eat so so much I would never feel hungry and would just eat and eat.

I remember going for hypnosis once to try and cure myself of overeating and she said enjoy the hunger feeling knowing you will eat soon so I am trying to do that.

Sunshineandrainbow · 09/11/2024 10:39

Damm it I have gained a pound 😢

Start weight 18.10

Hey ho just a blip we keep moving forward.....

DuckWithOneWing · 10/11/2024 21:33

@Sunshineandrainbow you're doing so well overall. The pound you've gained will be gone before you know it.

@Sunshineandrainbow I know exactly what you mean. I used to just eat because I wanted something or because it was "dinner time" rather than because I actually felt hungry. I've tried to learn to only eat when I feel hungry. I also try to have a drink (usually water or squash, not alcohol) when I'm starting to feel hungry as I read somewhere that your body sometimes confuses thirst for hunger.

Today I posted a full length photo of me on Facebook, and I didn't take it or know it was being taken. I actually like how I look in the photo! I never thought this would be possible and used to hate all photos of me.

Sunshineandrainbow · 11/11/2024 00:06

That's amazing @DuckWithOneWing I have very few photos of myself which is really sad. I always shy away from the camera. I am glad you liked the way you looked, you have worked so hard to get there.

Almost identical SW and GW and I think I will gain a lb this week too! Official weigh in on Wednesday 🫠

DuckWithOneWing · 14/11/2024 09:40

Over the last few weeks I haven't lost any weight, but my body has definitely changed shape. My waist is much slimmer now. I've had to get new gym leggings as my old ones were suddenly too big! And I got my winter coat out of storage - last year it was too tight and I had to buy a new one but this year it's far too big.

Sunshineandrainbow · 16/11/2024 10:03

Yippee I have lost the pound I gained plus 2 more!!!
After my gain last week I made a pot of vegetable soup and had this in the evenings with toast as my dinner.

Still dreading Christmas and the lead up to it. I am a bit of a hoarder and over buy. I need to remember I am not at home for the 2 days and why do I need extra stuff around the house just because it's in the shops. I need to think of dd health too. A service user gave me mince pies yesterday but I have left them at work to avoid temptation at home as I can be stricter at work.

Going to the cinema tonight and will enjoy some Maltesers but not a family bag and a Pepsi max. And probably a handful of dd popcorn!

Start weight 18.10
Current 15.4
Going slow and steady which is fine by me.

How is everyone else doing? It's quiet on here and I am hoping all is good with you all.

DuckWithOneWing · 18/11/2024 18:23

Well done @Sunshineandrainbow! 3lbs is great.

I had a surreal experience today. I was looking at an electric bubble car and said to the man demonstrating that it was really small so I didn't want a test drive as I wouldn't fit. He said "why?! There's nothing to you!" Later I was looking at trousers, and the medium looked like it would fit me although I didn't try it on.

Weight this morning was about 200g lower than last week so is moving in the right direction slowly.

DuckWithOneWing · 22/11/2024 11:08

Hope everyone is enjoying the cold weather! We haven't had any proper snow but have just had rain and slush. My arm really doesn't like cold weather so it's been challenging!

Nothing much to report. I've just been plodding along. Things are fine when I'm at work as I've got into a routine now and it's easy to stick to. I am going out for a meal tonight but I'm hoping to stick to the plan as best I can.

PreesHeath · 22/11/2024 12:10

Good luck! Hope the cold weather is over soon.

We’ve recently got a dog, so getting lots of exercise. The routine imposed by looking after him is actually pretty helpful and I’m moving back in the right direction. Christmas season approaching so trying to be sensible, but I still can’t bring myself to weigh myself as I can tell from the tightness of my coat that I’ve definitely gained around the middle.

Sunshineandrainbow · 25/11/2024 07:13

I hope you enjoyed your meal @DuckWithOneWing , I am meeting old work mates tonight so need to choose wisely but still enjoy it.

@PreesHeath how lovely to get a dog, definitely makes you move more. Weigh when you feel ready.

peonym · 27/11/2024 11:29

Such lovely news about the dog @PreesHeath

Hope everyone doing well. Im heading on a city break this weekend but just weighed in this morning and I'm 4lbs down after a few weeks of relative stalls - delighted! Still a long way to go but seeing 14 on the scales doesnt seem to far away now. Fully expect to maybe put on a 1lb or 2 while away so just need to be prepared for that.

Loss to date 3 stone 7lbs

Doijb · 27/11/2024 13:49

Hi all,

I’d like to join.

I had 3 kids in quick succession and the weight has just piled on. As a stay at home mum my only stimulation during the day came from food. I would excitedly plan ahead what I would eat for each meal. Can’t believe I was bingeing on nachos, paninis, entire wedges of Brie with half a baguette, family sized bars of chocolate grazed on through the day. Crazy looking back.

I have lost a bit of weight, not too painful. My goal weight is 150 pounds as I have naturally large breasts and a big butt. At that weight I feel god and can wear tight clothes.

In a dream world I would make it down to 120 but right now that feels like a dream.

Right now I’m working on being 180 pounds for NYE. I just feel like going into the new year with only 2 stone to lose would feel so doable.

Sw: 215 pounds
Cw: 189 pounds
Gw: 150 pounds
Super goal weight: 120 pounds

Thejugglestruggle · 27/11/2024 17:55

Hi,

Am I able to join, please? I've been losing weight since mid-March and am finding this part of my weight loss journey the hardest. I feel like when I started, I had way more motivation. The last month has been slow going, but I'm still going!

SW: 18 stone 10lbs
CW: 13 stone 10.5lbs
GW: 12 stone

To be honest, there's so much going on in terms of Xmas plans now that I'd love to just aim for a maintain until the New Year, and then go again in January for the next 25lb loss.

Sunshineandrainbow · 29/11/2024 23:03

Welcome to new joiners! Post as little or as much as you like.

@Thejugglestruggle I feel it's a hard time of year to concentrate on losing weight. So much going on, I am taking it one day at a time and trying to resist stocking up to my usual extremes.

DuckWithOneWing · 02/12/2024 14:09

@PreesHeath do you not know the rules?! You can't post that you got a dog without sharing photos!

@Doijb you've made a great start already! How are you planning to tackle Christmas?

@Thejugglestruggle would it help with motivation if you think of all the ways you've changed already? You must have something to claim as a Non Scale Victory! Is your stamina better? Can you fit into a smaller dress for the Christmas party? Did you manage to walk past the mince pies in the supermarket without sneaking a box into your trolley?

I just got tricked by the charity shop. I need a new coat - the one I have was too tight last year but is now far too big. I saw a nice one but the tag on the hanger said it was a 12 so I thought it would never fit me. I tried it on and it was perfect, and then I realised the label on the coat said it was actually a 10!!!!

I'm planning to stay on track for the next few weeks but have some treats in my calorie allowance. Then over actual Christmas I'll stop tracking fully but will still try not to go overboard. My new goal is to have lost half of my original weight by the end of January and I can't wait till I get there.

Sunshineandrainbow · 07/12/2024 13:14

Hows everyone doing?

Good week here, managed to not touch the work Christmas buffet. It was too early in the day and I am used to not eating till 2ish now. Have had a few quality street though.

I have lost 2lb which I am chuffed with, this is not in a week as I am not weighing every week.

Start weight 18.10
Current weight 15.2

Omg can you imagine I might see 14 something in the new year if I am careful.

DuckWithOneWing · 10/12/2024 18:20

I thought I was going to be blown over in the high winds the other day. That's definitely a downside of weightloss!

Congrats on the 2lb loss @Sunshineandrainbow

peonym · 11/12/2024 13:09

Hi everyone

Welcome to the new faces! I've loved reading the updates.

Nothing to report here, I haven't lost a lot recently but haven't gained either so that's always a plus at this time of year. I think it might have been Chalky who suggested the power zone training on peloton and I started it last week and LOVE it. I never thought I would actually enjoy spin!

Want to try to maintain to the end of this year and not end up having to back pedal in January.

SW: 18,10

SO close to seeing 14!

Amazing.. Like you say it's a tough time of year so let's just get through it the best we can.

I am being really careful what I buy to bring into the house as its just me and dd and I know who will end up eating it!

DuckWithOneWing · 18/12/2024 11:12

@peonym it's great you've found something you enjoy! I want to try a spin class at the gym but I've not managed to book one yet - they're either fully booked or at a time I can't do!

@Sunshineandrainbow I know what you mean about being careful what to bring into the house. It's just me and my partner, and although he'd be happy to eat it all I'd like him to lose some weight too. So I'm trying to resist the temptation to buy everything.

peonym · 18/12/2024 12:34

@Sunshineandrainbow I feel the same! And I'm being good about what comes in but my (fit and healthy weight) partner isn't so I've had words with him this week and he's getting better.

@DuckWithOneWing I do love it I have to say! I used to be a bit of a (pathetic) jogger but always hated it in late autumn / winter with slippery leaves and ice. Peloton means I can go all year around without worrying too much which is nice!

A small scale and NSV for me today - I finally hit 14,13. It feels like this is the start of a NEW journey now, where I'm building on my lifestyle as opposed to trying to create a new healthy one. I'm excited for next year.

I also fit into my size 16 jeans and didn't feel them too tight when I sat down - yay!

Hope everyone is doing well, I know it's tricky this time of year but we've got this 🤞🏻

DuckWithOneWing · 21/12/2024 12:02

I went to a park run this morning and ran a PB! I'm so pleased. I'm planning to go in Christmas Day too.

Other than that I'm trying to be sensible about food but not counting calories. I'll get back on plan on the 27th but until then I'm going to eat a mince pie if I want one (I don't, I don't actually like mince pies).
