Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

I've lost nothing! But I was away for 4 days so was drinking alcohol etc. Hoping for better this week.

Gained 3 lbs as I have been off last week and will be off this week. I have zero willpower when I'm not at work. I have no idea how those who work from home do it! I am just hungry all of the time and in my head making excuses. Also, I feel like I eat more when I do a gym workout, is anyone else the same?

I’m a little late but can I join please? Desperately need to lose weight for my health. Have some health issues and use steroids so I find it difficult. Had started and lost a stone but started to flag last week so need new motivation.
Calorie counting and walking atm.

Forgot to update yesterday as my official weigh day is a Friday!
SW (1.3.24) 16st 9.5 lbs
Weight at beginining of thread - 15st 11.5 lbs
CW (5.4.24) 15st 8 lbs
Summer GW 13st 7 lbs

So -3.5 lbs this week, although I fear it was a bit of a fluke as I was very sick at the beginning of the week. Expecting a gain or maintain at my next weigh in as things balance out 😳

My new scales are arriving today! I was using some analog ones but it’s to hard to see!

I’ve got some with an app and apparently it can track things like muscle mass and stuff, not sure how accurate it will be tho!

@Namerequired welcome to the thread. I am not on steroids but on medication for mental health that mucks up my blood sugars, causes weight gain and makes me starving. I am finding combining calorie counting with 20:4 fasting is helping to manage my hunger.

Completely forgot to measure and now I can't find my tape.

Lost 2lb over night which I think was just because I ate a ton of processed crap the first day I weighed so was artificially bloated. I ate way less and full on keto yesterday which helped. Keto sausages, homemade curry with paneer and couliflour rice and made a massive batch of cheese and pickle meatballs in thick tomato sauce which I had with cheese and broccoli.

Froze a portion for some other time and we ate the rest today for dinner. Had steak with cream of mushroom sauce and green beans for lunch too. I'm sure in few days that will all be too much to keep losing but enjoying it while I can.

Am pleased with my eating choices so far this week. Was worried I’d be tempted yesterday meeting a friend for lunch but I chose a goats cheese frittata and salad, and didn’t go for a piece of cake! Today I’ve kept to low carb too. It’s much easier for me when I’m working from home as I can choose exactly what I eat. Much harder when working away.

CW 9/424-15 stones 2.5 pounds

Another 1lb loss this week, going to the gym most days now.

Loss since started in early Dec 2023=6.6kg just over a stone.

BMI now 28.8

Need to get another 12kg off to no longer be 'overweight'.
Hopefully 🤞 the pre-diabetes will be reversed by that point.

Been in the office in a full day meeting today, had to get lunch from Tesco so ended up just having a couple of boiled eggs which meant I was starving when I got home.

Had my dinner (beef and veg) then I did Aqua Aerobics this evening so now achy and can't bring myself to hoist myself off the sofa to address my rumbling stomach.

I retired 3 years ago in Jan.
I have put on 3 stone since.
1 stone was because I stopped smoking. I have smoked since I was 14 but DH and I packed up over a year now so am proud in a way but not because I have put on so much.
My job involved a lot of walking I used to do about 1400 steps aday and didnt notice because it was normal, Im now hardly doing any walking so I aim to start.
My downful is my DH is 7 years younger than me and still works so am alone all day with my cat.
I live 5 mins from a garage so it was easy to pop in for choc bars and biscuits. Cadburys fingers are my down full as well as cheese on toast and hot chocolate which I can drink in the heart of summer. I really am fedup with myself and am determined to lose and exercise. Thanks for this thread I will read it every day for encouragement and tips.

I don't know if my scales are broken but they said 3lb down this morning (5lb total since monday morning). Its only day 3 and i know keto often has this effect in the first week but this is really fast in my experience. I was up twice in the night desperate for a wee so its possible i'm just shedding water but will see.

Keto headache has been and gone and i'm feeling brighter already. If anyone else does keto, do you find it easier the more you do it? I used to get awful flu like symptoms but now I just get a bad headache for 12-24 hours and feel cold.

Not hungry at all so far today so will probably lave eating until i actually get the urge. I have some keto sticks somewhere so will test later but i can usually tell if i'm in ketosis so suspect a pink result.

Still haven't measured myself, will see if I can find a tape now and do it.

One week in and I've lost 4lb.

I've not been on a plan, but have been being 'good'. I don't think that's going to be a long term solution, so I've been eagerly reading everyone's posts on here.

I've been to the gym a couple of times and have made an effort to walk more.

Starting weight - 16st12lb
Current weight - 16st8lb
Target weight - 15st7lb by 1 July

I've had success with MFP before. But it embarrasses me to get the scales and measures out when other people are around. FIL is staying with us for 10 days mid April. I know he will silently judge me.

Does that mean you only eat 4 hours a day? I don’t think I could manage that. I have to eat first thing to take my medications and try not to eat late in the evening but it doesn’t always work.

@Namerequired yes I have late lunch and early dinner so all within 4 hours on a good day. I don’t get hungry before eating as I’m used to it. Having to eat with medication messes with that though.

I'm not sure if we have an official weigh day but today I lost another 2lb.
I'm now 79.8 kg. So in another bracket and a total of 8kg since Xmas

I went to Nando’s yesterday and made healthy (ish) choices. I went for just chicken and no sides, as I find the sides are not great and so carb heavy!

I’ve never heard of Bluetooth scales - what a good idea! I low carb, when I go to Nando’s I choose broccoli side and a portion of halloumi fries with my chicken - very yummy!

Have had a terrible start to the week. Was suffering from horrible stomach cramps and a terrible headache for days and couldn't work out what was wrong. I think it was dehydration as I drank lots and lots of water yesterday and feel so much better - well enough to exercise.

Food has been very hit and miss due to feeling unwell but back to it today.

I'm on my second 800 calorie day of the week (doing 5:2) and also a gym day. Did 40 minutes of weights, 20 minutes cycling, 15 minutes running. Walked there and back (15 mins each way) and will go for another 30 minute walk later. Looking forward to my Korean chicken and broccoli for dinner 😋
