2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

Im loving my new scales! They’re Bluetooth so automatically update my tracker app. I’m down by .7kg since I started, I’m hoping I can get to 1kg loss by Monday!

I went to Nando’s yesterday and made healthy (ish) choices. I went for just chicken and no sides, as I find the sides are not great and so carb heavy!

I usually have the brocoli and leafy green salad as my sides, both low carb. The halloumi is amazing tho

Waffleson · 11/04/2024 23:02

I also went to nandos this week, I had the rainbow bowl with chicken, it was delicious!

I've had a bit of a headache the last two days, I'm hoping this might be a sign that weight loss is happening?

Andnowshesatoddler · 12/04/2024 07:01

7.5lb down this week

socks1107 · 12/04/2024 07:02

That's an amazing loss! Well done

Rennypie03 · 12/04/2024 07:03

Wow!! @Andnowshesatoddler what are you doing to lose that much. I'm so proud of you and I don't know you. Losing is hard work so well done!! Do pls give me some hints....I'm struggling with motivation but losing 1 pound weekly

Andnowshesatoddler · 12/04/2024 07:12

It might just be a first week fluke to be honest but my standard day this week has been.
No coffee vimto etc just drinking water and trying to make sure I drink more. I'm awful for a glass of water being on my desk all day.
Breckfast - over night oats. Low fat yoghurt and a small cup of oats and raspberries/mixed fruit
Snack - banana
Lunch - tomatoes and hummus
Snack - Banana
Tea - these haven't been brilliant were eating stuff up out of the freezer so I've had air frier scampi one night fish but took batter off another but other nights have been chicken, a tiny bit of mashed potato (microwave stuff!) and then a mixture of veggies so I've had broccoli carrots green beans garden peas baby corn nightly. I always eat my vegetables before I go onto the other bit and have found a couple of nights I haven't managed to want the other bits.
I do have a lot to loose though

Rennypie03 · 12/04/2024 07:14

@Andnowshesatoddler thank you for sharing this is actually helpful. I will try and eat my veggies first. I am 225 pounds so I do also have a lot of fat to lose

Andnowshesatoddler · 12/04/2024 10:13

Your more than welcome @Rennypie03

Andnowshesatoddler · 12/04/2024 10:17

Sorry for double post on a limited number of posts thread
I follow a YouTuber is a dietician and her advice has stuck with me. I don't know how to share her but it's nutrition by Kylie.
What can I add to this meal?
So on one of her videos she was having breckfast waffles.
Don't know about you but traditionally I would be like you can't have that on a diet.
But she put peanut butter 🤢 load of fruit etc on them and suddenly they were a treat with a lot of powerful goodness instead of something your going to want another meal in half an hour on.
She is definitely fascinating I would give her a looksie if you get chance.

I’ve been pretty good this week! However it’s a big test this evening, as I’ve got friends round and we usually have a lot of wine!!
Im cooking us a healthy meal so hopefully that helps minimise the damage.

I was shocked to find that the penguin biscuits I picked up as my daily treat have 130 calories in them! And they’re tiny! Suddenly my weight gain makes sense as I’d happily eat 2-3 in a day and think nothing of it!

Also a none weight loss improvement is that I’m getting closer to doing a proper headstand! In general im finding doing yoga is getting a bit easier and I feel more steady on my feet.

afrikat · 12/04/2024 11:33

Friday is my personal weigh in and I am 1.5lbs down this week which I am happy with considering I had a boozy Tuesday 🍸

afrikat · 12/04/2024 11:34

Oh and my non scale victory- I can now wear my engagement and wedding rings again, they wouldn't fit previously!

marshmallowmarzipan · 12/04/2024 12:53

I’m half a kg down this week (like a PP, I weigh on a Friday) so pretty pleased with that as I’ve had chocolate every day and a glass of Prosecco last night. I’m calorie counting properly and it’s quite nice fitting stuff in that keeps me on track. Been to the gym once, and run once, gymming again tonight!

Oh that is a lovely victory! I really want to be able to get my engagement ring back on. I had to take it off when I was pregnant and I’ve not been able to get it back on since!

Waffleson · 12/04/2024 19:53

Well done @afrikat and @marshmallowmarzipan !

I weigh on Sunday and I'm desperate to see some success.

TeenLifeMum · 12/04/2024 20:30

Current weight is 12st 1 (8lbs down) so maybe next week is the week I get to the 11s? Need to stick to the plan because it’s working. I even had a donut (within my calories… not my best/healthiest day but it was just one day and I stayed on plan).

WinterStar1 · 12/04/2024 21:07

Not the best of starts. Weighed in on 2 April and put on 0.2 kg on the 8 April weigh in. Not sure how that happened, but after 4 stone loss over the last 2 threads I'm not going to think about it too much.

So here we go again

Current Loss - +0.2kg
Total loss - 0
Target loss - 13kg

Oh its so annoying when that happens! Hopefully this week will be a good one

Philandbill · 14/04/2024 08:01

Got through yesterday without it being a total disaster! Currently reading Ultra Processed People and it's fascinating. Has anyone else read it?

ItRainsItPours · 14/04/2024 08:24

@Philandbill i haven’t read it but am very interested in the principles. I do best losing weight when I have days with no upf. It seems to help control my appetite and I lose more calorie for calorie when cooking from scratch. I don’t go to the extremes some do, baking bread or avoiding all emulsifiers, but make sensible swaps where I can.

This is pretty much what one of the early chapters of the book says. 😀UPFs fuel our desire to eat more.

ItRainsItPours · 14/04/2024 09:57

I know once I open a packet of Kitkat chunkies or tube of Pringles I ain’t stopping till their all gone 😩
