2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

Hi everyone, I did the me 360 scan again yesterday and have lost inches everywhere I'm so happy!

What does everyone do for exercise? I walk around 18k steps a day on a work day, 12 ish at a weekend and I swim twice a week. I have noticed I am no longer frightened of walking up hills and my swimming is getting much stronger. I've bought some new gym leggings this weekend so will be brave this week and head upstairs to try some equipment out

Just a little progress. Must try harder!

WinterStar1 · 29/04/2024 11:09

Lost 1.2kg this week. Happy with that as I was away last weekend so wasn't able to log my weight so this is a 2 week weight loss for me. I did weigh myself when I came back, just out of curiosity and it looked like a 4kg gain ... but I knew a) that wasn't possible and b) just stick to tracking my calories as I know it works. That gain would have sent old me into having a wobbler, but trusting the process just got me back on track again. So very happy today. Have a great week everyone xx

Current Loss - 1.2kg
Total loss - 2.7kg
Target loss - 13kg

Gummibärchen · 29/04/2024 12:04

Well done everyone; great to see such progress posted here this week.
I'm at 166 as of this morning, so another 2lb down.

What is the 360 scan? Is this at the gym? I’m just walking atm and it’s working well because I’m very unfit and have a lot to lose. Maybe there will be a gym in my future lol

Well done Namerequired 👏👏👏

I was given a 3 month gym membership by my gp last year. I went and I do think my arms toned up a bit and I enjoyed swimming. Trouble is with the 20 minute drive each way an hours workout took a long time. If I walk for that long I burn way more calories. Also I can do a short walk everyday where was only going to the gym every other. I think it’s about finding what fits your routine and is doable.

ItRainsItPours · 29/04/2024 17:44

I googled the 360 scan and it looked pricy, I think I saw one offered for £760.

Waffleson · 29/04/2024 18:05

Hello, I have good news to report, even though I've been a bit rubbish this week I have managed to lose 1.5 pounds.

SW: 13 st 8
CW: 13 st 3
TW: 11 st 8

I've also put away my size 18 jeans and now back in my size 16.

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 29/04/2024 18:31

There's an app called me 360 which I think might be what has been used here. You set it up with the camera running and it takes measurements.

I use this app I think it's brilliant

socks1107 · 29/04/2024 22:11

Sorry I've read everything now, yes the app is called me 360'and it's totally free

I went away with work last week and had some off plan foods (including fondue with bread) and drinks. Then a birthday party on Saturday with more drinks.
Monday morning weigh in - increased by 4lb!! Thankfully 2lb had already come off this morning and hopefully be back down to where i was in a few more days. I definitely didn't eat/drink enough to put on 4lb of fat 🙈

socks1107 · 30/04/2024 17:39

I've just popped into Oxford street to try some new trousers for work, usually my worst nightmare, however I tried a size 14 thinking there's no way but I want to see how far till they do up and they only went and did up properly!! I'm totally stunned and thrilled

Amazing, well done!

LolaJ87 · 01/05/2024 10:10

This week: -1kg
Total loss on thread: -2kg
Thread Goal: -13kg

Total since 25/01/2024: -10kg

Very slow and steady here. It can be a bit frustrating, but hopefully this time it will be sustainable.

LolaJ87 · 01/05/2024 10:12

@afrikat that's definitely just water weight, from salt and alcohol. You'll have it back off in no time!

@socks1107 what a fab NSV!

TemporalMechanic · 01/05/2024 10:27

@socks1107 That's brilliant, well done! I'm looking forward to the day I can do that - currently squeezing into 16s and decided I had to do something about it before I had to buy 18s. Would be nice to go in the other direction!

My Monday weigh-in:

SW: 165lbs
CW: 160lbs
GW (challenge): 148.5lbs
GW (overall): 120lbs

Five pounds off! But I know most of that is first week water weight.

Elephantino · 02/05/2024 09:51

2 pound loss for me this week. 2 stone 4lbs in total. Had my HRT increased and I'm hoping it settles me down a bit with bloating. Not been as consistent with 10k steps daily this week but will try to get more steps in over the weekend.

SW 17 6 on 30/11/23
CW 15 2
GW 13

Teaformetoo · 02/05/2024 21:26

I think I need some encouragement! I was so good the first few weeks on the cross trainer and making good food choices but it’s so hard to maintain the motivation!

Seaitoverthere · 03/05/2024 11:25

1.2lb off for me this week making a total of 33.5lb since November. Slow but it averages a little over a pound a week and I have had a set back with medication twice that affects it. Given I am mid 50s and struggling to walk currently it could all be a lot worse.

My hip won’t bend at the moment so have to dress with a sock aid and grabber. But treated myself to a towelling swim robe and Dryrobe type thing and a swim membership to make things easier and now at least I can get some exercise.

@Teaformetoo it is hard to keep going long term, hang in there. Make sure you build in enough food that you don’t feel deprived. Another tactic is having a week every so often where you decide you are looking at maintenance rather than loss. If you calorie do it on a weekly basis so you have some higher and lower days, it is good practice for maintaining at the end.

ItRainsItPours · 03/05/2024 13:03

@Seaitoverthere i started exercising this year by going to some aqua aerobics classes. It got me started whilst the weather was worse and I felt both young and slim at 46 and 17 stone 5lbs. It was interesting watching all the people who had looked mobile in the water getting out and seeing all the dodgy hips/knees kick in on dry land.

Seaitoverthere · 03/05/2024 15:04

@ItRainsItPours you have hit the nail on the head! I feel normal in the water. First lane swim today (the other day was a general swim) and was in medium lane which you have to prebook and I was thinking maybe I should start in slow lane but always booked up. Some were faster than me and some slower but overall all it was good and so nice to be able to move.

afrikat · 05/05/2024 12:11

My holiday water weight dropped off and another 1lb down today from where I was before my trip so scales are moving again 👍

I'm now 7lbs off a healthy BMI, 21lbs off goal weight. 28lbs off altogether ✨️

Well done! That's a great loss.

I bought the size 14 trousers today and can't wait to get back to work next week and wear them 😂
