2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

I only lost half a pound this week, but I did go to a wedding where I drank quite a lot and indulged a bit so I should probably be glad I didn't gain. My jeans do feel looser though so I think I might have lost more than the scales think I have.

Weighed yesterday but posting a day late as the day disappeared yesterday. Stayed the same this week which is not a huge surprise as we went to 2 birthday parties this weekend and had some celebratory drinks...!

SW 1st Jan - 12st
CW - 11st 4lb
GW - 10st

Well done everyone! Keep going :)

kirinm · 23/04/2024 08:38

Well 2 days ago I was down 2lbs but today despite doing absolutely anything different I'm back up 2lb. I ran two days in a row and have stiff legs so it could be DOMS.

It is so frustrating that exercise slows weight loss right down. The only time I've seen a big drop is on weeks I've not done any exercise. It doesn't make sense!!

Through trial and error I've found that if I have a big exercise day I also have to have a big water day 2-3 lts on the day of exercise and I find I don't get the water retention effect.

LolaJ87 · 23/04/2024 13:22

I stayed the same this week which is a miracle after my binges last week. I also got my period (yay), so I should find it easier to stay on track.

HappyKatieA · 23/04/2024 17:41

I finally started last week, I wasn't in the right frame of mind before. I'm on a VLCD.

SW: 16st 2.2lbs
CW: 15st 7.6lbs

Loss to date: 8.6lbs

I'm happy with that, it's given me the boost to continue.

HappyKatieA · 23/04/2024 21:02

Thank you @afrikat! How are you doing?

Eumie · 24/04/2024 06:37

So I had a weekend away so didn’t want to weigh yesterday! I had a good day yesterday with lots of exercise and healthy food so I’m
feeling back on track!

SW: 80kg
CW: 79kg
TW: 70kg

I’m pretty pleased with a 1kg weight loss so far, my diet doesn’t feel too restrictive so I think I can keep it up!

afrikat · 24/04/2024 07:02

HappyKatieA · 23/04/2024 21:02

Thank you @afrikat! How are you doing?

Doing good thanks! 2lb loss last week. Not expecting a loss this week as I'm away with work and have drunk wine for the past two nights plus had more food than usual. Lots of walking though so shouldn't do too much damage

Seaitoverthere · 24/04/2024 12:39

Great to see some good losses here. I have been AWOL recently after starting meds this year made things a bit weird and then again when I increased my dose.

Weighed this morning and am down a tiny bit. Have lost 15lbs this year which is really slow compared to the autumn but some people on medicine I am on say that they have put in 6 to 9lbs so at least I am down and not up!

Fluffygoon · 24/04/2024 16:55

I was around 12 st 7 on 1st January and got down to 11 st 5 lbs. Have just been on holiday to an all inclusive hotel with unlimited food and cocktails. You all know the weight has gone up 😂 but instead of pigging out on sweet treats I made healthier choices so lots of fresh fruit (yummy) and salmon with eggs for breakfast.

Was a good feeling getting into swimsuit but shocked how easily the weight went back on during the week.

Back on the diet and exercise today.

TemporalMechanic · 24/04/2024 19:02

Hi all, hope it's okay if I join you. I got on the scales on Monday after avoiding them for months and I'm the heaviest I've ever been and have 40% body fat. I want to do something about it! I think it's just helpful to have somewhere to post about it. I've skimmed the thread and you're all making great progress.

2 stone by the target date is quite ambitious but I'll do as much as I can. 16.5lbs (10% of my weight) by July would be a real achievement for me, so I'll set that as a manageable target, and if I do more, even better!

SW: 165lbs
CW: 165lbs
GW (challenge): 148.5lbs
GW (overall): 120lbs

Andnowshesatoddler · 26/04/2024 06:44

Lost 1lb this week.
My scales do show other things than just weight and they've improved this week.
Am wondering if mine is affected by I'm getting to the end of my 2.5 pen and ready to move up, I'm a little constipated and we ate a bigger meal than usual last night.

bfsham · 27/04/2024 09:11

Haven't posted for over 2 weeks but today's weigh in, I've lost a further 2.5 pounds:

SW 2/1/24-16 stones

CW 27/4/24 -15 stones

GW-is to get from 'overweight' to 'normal range BMI' so upper range of that for me is 13 stone 4 pounds (am 6 foot tall).

Hurray 1 stone lost since joined the original thread 2 stone off by Easter 🎉

bfsham · 27/04/2024 09:14

I'm doing 45 mins in the gym 4/5 week-20mins cardio and 20 mins weights plus stretching. Can't do anymore, it knackers me out.
Also trying to get 10,000 steps in.
I am finding the exercise naturally curbs my appetite and am eating 'healthily' too plus calculating calories mentally, trying not to exceed 1800 per day.

socks1107 · 27/04/2024 09:22

I lost again this week.

SW 87.6kg
CW 77.9kg
GW 75kg

I could be on my first target a few weeks ahead of schedule which is incredible. Yesterday someone commented on my weight loss which was super encouraging

kirinm · 27/04/2024 10:46

Had my first drink of 2024 last night and feel horribly hungover. Thankfully we have no food in the house so nothing to gorge myself on. Instead I've taken paracetamol and am psyching myself up for a run

Elephantino · 27/04/2024 19:38

SW 17 6 on 30/11/23

2 stone 2lbs off, going very slow now but I have dropped 2 dress sizes. Still very little alcohol (3 days last month, 2 days this month) pleased with my progress. 7 weeks till holiday, I'd love to lose 10lbs by then

Teaformetoo · 28/04/2024 20:52

Have ended up having the worst eating weekend for ages. Probably won’t weigh tomorrow. But I will get back on the healthy eating and on the cross trainer tomorrow and won’t feel guilty. I’ve had a lovely weekend. Onwards and upwards!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 29/04/2024 06:28

Weekly weigh in

SW - 1st Jan - 225 lb (16 st 1 lb - BMI 34.2)
Loss this week - 3 lb
CW - 27th Apr - 194 lb (13 st 12 lb - BMI 29.5)

Total Loss - 31 lb (14% bodyweight)

Stressheadmumma · 29/04/2024 06:40

Similar to you. Just under 5.2 but weight has gone up to just under 11 stone but want to get down to 9. Haven’t managed that in over 8 years since my second was born.

4lb loss this week. Delighted!

Rough week this week as I got a loop recorder in to monitor my heart on Wednesday so was inactive for a few days, and when I’m inactive I eat. Also comfort eating as I was so stressed about it. Hopefully it doesn’t show up next week 🙈

ItRainsItPours · 29/04/2024 07:51

I hadn’t lost much this month and was starting to worry then this week 3lbs came off one per day to give me the loss I aim for each month. It just shows I need to keep the faith and not obsess about numbers on the scale. I must also remember to do all my measurements in a few days as I forgot at the start of this month and I love seeing how I am shrinking.

Eumie · 29/04/2024 08:03

SW: 80kg
CW: 78.4kg

So I’d been up most of last week I think due to water retention because of where I am in my cycle. I’ve been aiming for 0.5kg loss each week and I’ve had a 0.4kg average loss, which feels pretty good as I’ve not felt deprived and I’ve had room for treats.

I am a bit worried about today as I’ve got a horrible cold/flu bug and I’m much more likely to snack when I’m not well enough to cook!
