2 Stone Slimmer For Summer - a thread for those with lots to lose

RedDoughnut · 01/04/2024 11:54

Here we go! This is our third 2 stones off thread.

I did really well in 2 stones off for Xmas, less good in the Easter thread.

I found having an end date in sight meant I could focus on the date rather than than the monumental amount of weight I needed to lose

End date for this thread is 15th July which will roughly tie in with school holidays. 15 weeks from today.

Welcome to anyone new who wants to join and to anyone who has been involved in either of the two previous threads.
Im not starting until tomorrow

I'd also like to ask that everyone adds one element of self care that they don't usually have time for. I'm going to start using a specific cream for my eyes. Maybe by summer that will also show a difference?

My little victory today is that my jeans go up and down without being undone! They were sooo tight at Xmas

Teaformetoo · 17/04/2024 19:28

I feel like I was doing really well over the past two weeks. But this week I’ve developed a nasty cough so haven’t been on the cross trainer and have now agreed to fish and chips for tea 🙄. It so much easier to stick to being strict when you are well and feeling good - it’s such a rubbish vicious cycle isn’t it? Am away the next two days and I will be bound to slip so am just thinking I’ll make healthy choices when I can and get properly back on it on Monday.

charlie7 · 17/04/2024 23:23

Very late this week! I was 3 pounds down on Monday which was good, but I feel really bloated and heavy so it doesn't feel good. Def making better choices and finding that if I'm really busy I don't think about food. But alcohol is still a downfall for me.

socks1107 · 18/04/2024 08:11

Charlie7 I am also still enjoying alcohol on a weekend although I have cut down a little and am mindful to eat first properly so that bad choices and snacking are less likely! I do enjoy a few wines at the weekend though

afrikat · 18/04/2024 09:51

I did 12 weeks of fast 800 and now moved onto 5:2. It feels so weird (and freeing) being able to eat proper meals again on my non fasting days 😅

Andnowshesatoddler · 18/04/2024 20:14

My husband scoffed steak and beef dripping chips for his tea that was so hard to say no to!! I had a small steak and loads of vegetables but I was so jealous!

MsFogi · 18/04/2024 21:11

Thanks all - that's a bit of a relief!!

MsFogi · 18/04/2024 21:12

Sorry wrong thread!!

Waffleson · 18/04/2024 22:26

Arrgghh I'm struggling this week, it's my third week and I think the novelty is wearing off. I need more motivation.

Andnowshesatoddler · 19/04/2024 07:52

Four lb down this week.
Quite pleased as it's not exactly been a 100% good week.

afrikat · 19/04/2024 14:12

I'm 2lb down this week which I'm happy with especially since I've moved from Fast 800 to 5:2. Next week will probably be a gain as I am in Zurich for 4 days (wine and cheese!) But not going to stress about it. Its a marathon not a sprint...

LolaJ87 · 19/04/2024 21:09

I’ve been a disaster this week. Disappointed with my weigh in and then I’ve been off the rails following a migraine and a sick toddler. Someone help me get my head back in the game!

TeenLifeMum · 19/04/2024 22:55

So frustrated. I got to 12st so by Sunday I should be under 12 and finally the scales start with an 11… but Wednesday night I was upset (nothing major but dh upset me -which is rare) and I had a binge. I had a chocolate bar and a Nutella sandwich (2 slices of bread) and a packet of crisps. While not ideal, up to that point I was on 1,100 calories so I expected to go up 1lb by the next morning. I actually went up 3lbs! (1.5 weeks to lose 3lbs and I pile it on one evening!) feeling so so gutted. Back on plan now but so defeated. I want to fit my clothes again and I want my confidence back 😭

You have not gained 3.5lb fat in one evening, 3500 calorie deficit is 1lb loss so to gain 3 lb fat you'd have to eat over 10000 calories.

It will be water retention caused by refined carbs and salt. Make sure you drink plenty of water this weekend, stick to your calorie allowance and weigh again on Monday.

I weighed yesterday and for the first time I’ve dropped below 79kg! However I’m away this weekend so I’m expecting that my next weigh I won’t be!

im trying to make healthier choices, like we went out for breakfast and instead of the full English I had a veggie quesadilla and it was amazing and full of veg!

It was on developing migraines that I originally began my inordinate crisp consumption, so I can empathise. If both migraine and sick child are now better, then it's back in the saddle for a new week.

I've also just dropped below 79. I'm so thrilled! Well done to you too

LolaJ87 · 20/04/2024 20:06

@Gummibärchen yes post migraine I get really bad salt and carb cravings. Probably why I smashed a takeaway and a share bag of crisps the following day. Frustrated with myself but have been back on track today, maybe not as “good” as I was but tracked everything and am still within my calories.

Thanks for the empathy and support x

Gummibärchen · 20/04/2024 20:20

@LolaJ87 you're more than welcome; I feel it's something that isn't talked about enough - the salt/carb cravings that accompany migraines. I'd rarely eaten crisps until then. You've identified a culprit and can now plan accordingly; random cravings are much more challenging. Well done for getting back on track btw!

FlabMonsterIsDietingAgain · 22/04/2024 06:37

SW 1/1/24 at 243lbs
CW 22/4/24 at 221lbs
GW 15/7/24 208lbs

Having indulged in Easter treats and enjoyed a week away this last week has been tough. Much more hungry than before and only 1lb loss but pleased I have stuck to the plan.

Teaformetoo · 22/04/2024 07:57

The tiniest loss for me this morning, less than a pound, but I’m not going to worry. I was away during the week and whilst I made loads of healthy meal choices, a few chips, slice of cake snuck in - which I’m not sorry about. There has to be a balance between eating healthily and living/enjoying life. Also didn’t get on the cross trainer at all due to a bad cough/chest.

Will keep going, am feeling better in myself anyway. Have a good week everyone.

socks1107 · 22/04/2024 08:19

I've stayed the same today which is ok. It could be water weigh or anything, I'm not too worried.
