Moving on from Wegovy

I've lost 4 and a half stone on wegovy. I've gone from an obese BMI to BMI of 21. I'm so happy. It took me a year. So now I'm going to taper down and stop. Has anyone else stopped yet? I'm going to keep up the calorie counting and exercise of course to keep the weight off.

Hi All ☺️ I found this thread because I'm currently tapering off Wegovy after losing 5 stone (June 2024 - present) - so pleased with the results! I went down from 2.4mg to 1.7mg in December and I'm reducing my dose again next month... I'm nervous about totally coming off it as I haven't felt that 'ravenous' feeling in such a long time... I wondered how you are all getting on now?

I have also found that since being a smaller body weight the bad side effects (if which I didn't have before) are now present. Stomach cramps (rushing to the toilet 🙈) and more recently having heart palpitations- have any of you experienced this.

Thanks everyone!

Yes, I've had the bad side effects for like 5 months until 4 months ago but I persevered and I reduced the dose to really really low and started taking vitamins and Berberine which helped and then the symptoms went but I do get them back for one day when I move up a dose. I moved from 1.7mg to 2.4mg and I had a bad day but I'm going to start going back down as I need to taper off too!

I'm trying to find other ways to stop the food noise without the injections like Berberine and GLP-1 patches.

Stel83 · 06/01/2025 14:40

These are much cheaper too

Hi all. I put on a little over Christmas- weight went over 70kg for the first time in a year - didn't overeat or binge but the house is full of food and I am much less likely to snack when in the office. Aiming to get back down to 68kg.

Had to admit I wobbled and started wondering about maintenance plans but then reminded myself that after stopping W completely in April I'd maintained without too much bother.

(For ref - SW 86kg, BMI30.5, total loss 18kg or just under 3 stone)

GLP-1 patches? Didn't know such a thing existed? Are they effective?

No idea, I have some but haven't tried them. My friend is trying them who used to be on the injections so I'm waiting to hear back from her.

Yeah I've reduced my dose loads before. All you have to do is Google click chart for the pen you have and it will tell what each click will give you so I've taken a lower dose using a 2.4mg pen by getting the clock chart online for that pen and then counting the clicks for a lower dose. I have brought extra needles too on Amazon to use with the pen to get more doses out of a pen. Once opened the pen only lasts 6 weeks. Hope that helps

Meant click chart not clock chart
