Following on from the February thread.

Spring is right around the corner so it’s time to embrace a fresh new month, fresh new start, fresh new habits. Jump right in to reset & refresh to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to lose and those who wish to maintain whilst eating a healthy varied diet.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have a WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now maintaining around 8st 12lb; although I’d like to see another half stone off 😬

Are you in?😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

Feel free to share your own links, tips & recipes

Great week so far weight wise, must be that time in my cycle. No sugar cravings, happy to fast, keen to go the gym 💪.
Today I've officially reached my 2st loss goal 🙌. It took 4.5months 15st to 13st, I'm so happy. It's made a huge difference to my body and clothes. I have another 5weeks left of my WL 💊 and I will stop them, I plan to continue on throughout summer on my own, I'll definitely need moral support then and maybe do another 12 weeks from end of Aug if I need to.

Doireallywanttodothis · 12/03/2024 14:04

Well done @mrspepperpotty - you must be really pleased. I'm hanging on in there for that day!

lots 0.8lb this week but pleased with that given I went completely off the rails from Friday until yesterday and yesterday wasn't great. Didn't feel good though so actually pleased to be back on it.

Started towards the end of April last year (with a lot of messing about along the way) but I'm now hoping to have reached a 2st loss by the same point this year (6lb to go). Something that seemed impossible then.

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 12/03/2024 14:08

@TheRealHousewife I can't even begin to imagine how hard that was ❤️

I'm currently tracking about 2lbs up on last week, but will see where I'm at tomorrow.

Busy week with evening engagements with school and work, then away for the weekend, but will be back on track properly next week. In the meantime will just try not to overdo the eating!

LegoTherapy · 12/03/2024 14:17

@TheRealHousewife jeez, that's seriously toughFlowers

TheRealHousewife · 12/03/2024 16:33

Good Afternoon

❤️@WhatWouldTheDoctorDo @LegoTherapy

Well done on your losses @Doireallywanttodothis @LumionaMoonsplash @MrsPepperpotty @LemonDrizzle23 Fabulous results 👏👏👏👌

Welcome to the thread @ScouseOfCards and well done on your loss to date!

@ImALittlePea I totally get your thinking. A re-feed can jump start your metabolism and scratch a food/drink itch! A break from the norm was what you needed to jump start the next phase. 👍👍👍

@MrsPepperpotty 👏🏼👏🏼 how long has it taken you?

I'll be weighing in tomorrow but have had 2 meals out and a takeaway so not feeling too hopeful. I did make sensible choices though, so I'm sure the damage could have been much worse!

Rewis · 12/03/2024 22:08

I coach futsal and decided to participate to the training. It was terrible. The things I ask them to do 😅

SewingIsMySuperPower · 12/03/2024 22:39

I weighed myself this morning and had gained a lb...

But I know exactly why I gained the lb (culmination of several weeks of chocolate). And for once I didn't get sad and disheartened by it. I actually did my first proper workout after work in nearly a month (so far in 2024 I have done precisely 1 workout a month if you don't count stretching). Definitely need to make more effort to move more.

So to revise my stats:

SW: 12st 8lb
Interim target: 12st
TW: 11st 3-7lbs

Flowerchild547 · 13/03/2024 06:46

No loss for me this week which is unsurprising given the weekend I’ve had. However, I did make better choices than I would have usually which has resulted in no gain. I can live with that.

My plan for next week is to do some good meal prepping and to ensure I use my scales to portion control.

Hope other’s weigh in are better than mine!

LegoTherapy · 13/03/2024 07:02

Morning all. Slight loss here today. Drank lots of water yesterday and I'm hoping that will help in general. Lots of walking so far this week and there'll be extra today.
Have a great day everyone and I hope the scales aren't bastards!

PatienceOfEngels · 13/03/2024 07:09

WoW +0.9kg this week

SW 77kg (beginning October 23)
CW 70.7kg
GW 68kg

Gah, up +2kg on my beginning of February low.

Yesterday:
❌I will stay away from UPF.
✅I will drink enough water.
✅I will walk or stretch/yoga everyday.
✅I will eat in a 12 hour window (no snacking after dinner).
❌I will do a short breathing exercise every morning and evening.

It's the UPF/junk that's getting me atm. yesterday I went out of my way to go to a shop and bought crisps and Malteser's! If I have a day at work or home with the family it's easier but when I'm home alone I just crumble.

Today will be different! I need to get back on the thread more actively to help me flip the switch in my brain again.

B: boiled egg, rye toast and butter, coffee
L: carrot and lentil soup with 1 slice sourdough
D: pea soup with bread
S: greek yoghurt and honey, fruit

Just done a breathing exercise, will do stretch/yoga tonight as DH is out so no walk. Going away this weekend so I know there will be lots of temptations.

PatienceOfEngels · 13/03/2024 07:10

I also need to check the batteries in our bathroom scales as well. When I first stepped on them this morning I was -3kg 😂

Rewis · 13/03/2024 07:30

SW: 97kg
Last week: 95.7kg
CW: 95kg

GW I: 90kg

-0.7kg 💪🏻

I could take one of those scales 😅

ScouseOfCards · 13/03/2024 07:31

Good morning everyone, my first WoW

14st 1lb which takes me to exactly one stone lost (although it has taken me three months). I'm really pleased though to reach the one stone off mark!

Today's plan is my usual breakfast I have most days. Greek yoghurt, fruit and nuts with a coffee.

Lunch of wholemeal toast with hummus and an apple.

Dinner I have chickpea stew leftover so will have that with brown rice and some air fried crispy kale.

ItsTapasTime · 13/03/2024 07:39

Morning all.
Just back from a trip to Italy and surprise, surprise, I’m back in the 71kg range. Totally worth it though, as the food and drink was amazing.
Anyway, I’m back on it now. My holiday is fast approaching and I need to go down a dress size.

So…..
Started 01.01.2024
SW: 74 Kg
CW: 71.4 Kg

1st GW: 63Kg (June holiday).

Will be back to 5:2 and 16:8

LemonDrizzle23 · 13/03/2024 08:00

Well done to everyone weighing in!

The rain cleared yesterday, so between the gym and walking around town yesterday, I did over 20,000 steps. Feeling it in my legs this morning 😂

No scales in my hotel room, so no weigh in for me. Feels very strange being away without DH and DS! Not something I do very much.

Crisps are my downfall @PatienceOfEngels specifically the co-op own brand salt and vinegar crisps. They are to die for and I could eat a share bag without blinking....

katmarie · 13/03/2024 08:34

Weighed in this morning.

Last week 77.3kg
This week 77.0kg

To be honest I went off the rails a bit over the weekend, takeaway chinese food, and more wine than is really sensible, so I am not surprised. I think my willpower just fell off a cliff somewhere.

I feel very stuck on this 77kg milestone though. Trying very hard not to lose motivation, and focus on the goals I have. Onwards and downwards!

NothingTraLaLa · 13/03/2024 08:43

Well done everyone for keeping going.

A decent loss this week, but only because I had a decent gain last week. Back to where I was two weeks ago, I think.

Not much to lose now until target weight, although there may be a stretch target looming as I still need to reduce my waist further to be less than half my height (when I measure it I do it at my smallest point which is fine. When the doctor did it, he measured level with my bellybutton which was not fine 😁)

SW 128 lbs
CW 116 lbs
TW 114 lbs

SMG1992 · 13/03/2024 08:55

Weight this morning is 201.5lb!!
That is up since last week! I’m going to start tracking cals again on MFP for some accountability

Did anyone go on the mini (progesterone only) pill after having a baby and how did it effect weight?

i really want to see some of this baby weight dripping off now, I’m pretty active (lots of walking, running and spin along with yoga and weights) my diet isn’t great at the moment but I really expected to see a bit more of a drop

talkingdeadscot · 13/03/2024 09:03

Morning everyone and hello to the new joiners, just checking in for my first weigh in on the March thread. I had my op 10 days ago so have done no exercise apart from my first walk outside yesterday. Still sticking to healthy eating though so that's a positive.

SW (June 2023) - 93kg
First Goal - 72kg (achieved Christmas 2023)
GW - 55kg
CW - 66kg

That's a loss of 1.5kg for March. Probably helped by the 36hr fast I had to do whilst waiting to go down to theatre.

Anyway, the goal is to slowly build my walking back up before physio next month. Keep plodding, Spring's coming!

cwanne · 13/03/2024 09:12

CW 80.5kg
So I'm down 0.5kg from last week. Which is a surprise. I was on my period, I had no motivation, the scales jumped back up to 82 for most of the week.

ImALittlePea · 13/03/2024 09:20

That's exactly it @TheRealHousewife it felt so needed!

Yesterday was pretty much on plan:
Lunch - wrap with plant based fajita beef, some low fat sour cream, lettuce, tomatoes, pepper and grated cheese. Followed by a pot of strawberry greek yoghurt
Dinner - homemade chilli on a jacket potato with a bit of butter, some grated cheese and low fat sour cream
Snacks - a spare honey mustard chipolata at work 😅, white choc cookie, small bag of buttons, half a tube of fruit pastilles 🤦‍♀️

Had lots of water, swapped some of my tea for decaf, and had no wine ✔️

Expected some sugar cravings after all the wine I've had in the last week, so those titbits don't bother me too much. I've been feeling really drained and exhausted since work yesterday, went to bed early and felt like I slept well, but still feel like it this morning, so I hope I'm not coming down with something.

Today's plan:
Lunch - probably same as yesterday - was really delicious!
Dinner - jacket potato with either a southern fried chicken steak or plant based chicken breast and baked beans
Will have a greek yoghurt and fruit after either lunch or dinner

Other intentions - no wine, keeping up the water, no sweet extras, and no snacking on the pass at work!

Good luck to everyone weighing today 💗

PatienceOfEngels · 13/03/2024 12:25

@LemonDrizzle23 crisps are responsible for about 75% of my weight issues. When I'm not eating them I do so much better, but once I start it's a vicious cycle. Plus, the country I live in doesn't do single serve packets really. everything is family packs!

I noticed yesterday I felt shattered in the afternoon, so sluggish and practically falling asleep when the kids were home from school. If I go non-UPF and sugar I never get this crash and feel so much better physically about myself. That's why i find it so bewildering that I do this to myself!
