Me, I am.

I'm another thread somewhere on here but can't find it atm.

I'm on Phase 2, Day 2 (which I think you must be too?) and am feeling really hungry. Yesterday was great, being able to introduce an apple 😂

How are you finding it?

Hey Guys, I started first day of phase 1 today and it was a nightmare. My salts didn’t arrive until this evening so I’ll have to take them tomorrow. I made a soup that I don’t particularly like and got a migraine so bad this afternoon that it made me sick and haven’t touched any horrible soup since!

I’m 12.5st after having been 9.5st all my life until 4 yrs ago when I had 2 children. I used to be gluten free through choice and trained at the gym 3 times a week but all of that has gone out of the window. I’m determined to stick at this but I’m absolutely dreading tomorrow.

Some people are commenting that they had yoghurt during phase 2 but I thought that wasn’t until phase 3? I’m really confused?! Can anyone pls confirm? I’m not on instagram and nobody ever posts on the Facebook group.

Would love some support and will try my best to dish some out :)

Thanks!

@Syan7 have you finished the first week? How was it? I'm going to start on Monday, I've got the book but will only have time to read the main diet bit before Monday, I'll read the rest while I'm doing it. I've been doing Zoe which I like from a healthy eating point of view but need to be far more restrictive with calories to lose weight. Anyone else doing it or is there another thread I've missed?

@alloutofcareunits I didnt read the book I just bought the cook book because it has all of the basics in it and I’ve heard the format is much easier to use when referring to it throughout the process. It’s done me pretty well and I’ve only just ordered the book now.
I won’t lie to you it’s not for the faint hearted! It’s been a real mental battle and yes I’ve officially completed my first week today! I am mainly doing it to get discipline back into my life and lose weight obviously and I’ve come too far to mess it up now! I’ve lost 9lbs which althugh amazing it’s also not surprising given how little in eating! I’m literally counting down the days until next weekend and having a treat meal. Still undecided what to have but cake will be involved. I also had to go for a few work meals and take my own food!

I did consider Zoe but like you I knew I needed something quite drastic and it’s doing the trick. I can see how it will change my mindset - it’s just hard not to be obsessed over food at this stage given how restrictive it is. If you do start then I’d love to go on your journey with you as there may well be times you need support. I really wish I had someone to see me through this stage.

let me know if you get started and best of luck! :)

@Syan7 @Frenchfemme @Nonewclothes2024 I am the heaviest I've been in 10 years and really need to lose at least 20 pounds, ideally 2 stones. I keep starting with calorie counting then just slide off the wagon. I thought the structure and tough first two weeks might motivate me by seeing a decent quick weight loss. I haven't got the salts but might buy some, did any of you bother? I'll be making soup for the first two days. Any tips or info gratefully received 😊

Hi all. @Nonewclothes2024 @alloutofcareunits I am not getting the salts as I really don’t like the idea of messing with my digestive system to that extent (but I don’t usually have a problem in that regard!).
Starting weight 60.5 kilos, about 9st 7lb and am aiming for 54 kilos, about 8st 7lb. I am going to find P2 and P3 difficult as I don’t usually eat 3 meals a day, but will probably have apple and seeds or nuts most days. will see how it goes.
Going to make soup, air-fried veg and winter salad for the next 2 days.
Hope everyone does/is doing well.

I've been doing it for over 7 months. It's been genuinely life changing and I can't see myself slipping back into old habits. I've been in phase 4 since October and got to goal weight pretty quickly. Once you've got into phase 3 it gets so much easier.

@Frenchfemme I was the same about breakfast - I'd been doing a daily fast for about ten years so now I just have berries and seeds and it works really well. I actually enjoy having breakfast now.

The one treat meal a week appeals to me as I always eat out on a Saturday night, or order food in and don't want to stop my social life so feels like this will fit with my routine. I rarely eat breakfast and when I do it's toast or granola so I'll struggle to eat fish and salad at 8am! I'll go for the apple and seeds option. Good luck everyone

@alloutofcareunits @Nonewclothes2024 Hey guys, regarding the salts I intended to do them but because they didn’t arrive in time I never did. I’ve always been regular but have gone a lot less since starting so have taken magnesium citrate (only once) as they recommend and it helped things along slightly.

Dont forget eggs as an option for breakfast which I’ve been having with mushrooms and 2 tomato’s (daily allowance). I need to feel like I’m still having a pudding so save my apple for the evening and berries and yoghurt hasn’t sustained my hunger very well. I treated myself tonight and had a juicy rump steak (slightly over weight allowance). Felt like I was in heaven. It’s been my son’s birthday party today and not eating the cake was torture (I put some in the freezer)

Regarding the first 2 days - I made her winter soup recipe and it was disgusting! Wish I’d made the butternut soup instead.

@MissisBoote in worried I’ll stop losing weight in phase 3? Have you had a steady loss. I can’t wait for stage 4 when I can start mixing foods again (eg goats cheese sweet potato salad and roast chicken!) But feels like a long way off.

@Frenchfemme good luck! You don’t have much to lose and you’re already at a low weight so be interesting to see how you get on :)

I did this back in the second lockdown in Jan 2021, I do want to get back on it and will start phase 1 on Monday 18th.

The Epsom’s salts isn’t to help you go to the loo. It’s to help with the withdrawal effects of caffeine and carbs.

Petronella did a HBD journey with one of Donna Ida’s staff during this time and they did the epsom salts every Sunday, not for me but it apparently aided weight loss and helped with cravings.

@Syan7 I didn't lose anything for the first three weeks of phase 3 but then it started dropping off again. Trust the process - it really does work

@MissisBoote thanks for sharing. That’s really good to know. Final question I have is did you literally just have a cheat meal and that was it? I was considering a cheat day but don’t want to ruin it!

@Syan7 @Gruello I've ordered the salts from Amazon to arrive tomorrow, I've always had issues with constipation so I'll try anything that will help. I've bought courgettes and butternut squash and a bag of spinach to make soup for Monday/Tuesday, do you think you really need to skip using a stock cube even just one? I don't have liquid stock and don't eat meat so can't boil bones to make any

Syan7 · 09/03/2024 23:15

@alloutofcareunits i did buy liquid stock from marks and Spencer - they have veg stock as well as meat. It should be in other supermarkets as well. I think she tries to be quite strict about it because cubes contain wheat, gluten and sugar and it’s the start of a detox but I guess you just have to work with what you’ve got sometimes! It’s a marginal amount but for the rest of the 2 weeks you might need to get some :)

Last time In the 2nd phase I just steamed everything in my Ninja so didn’t use the stock.

Re: cheat meal/day, you’ll find that the usual ‘cheat’ that you go to won’t make you feel great so naturally you’ll only do 1 ‘naughty meal’ when you have the chance.

the first 2 weeks and 2 days are challenging but then you become used to it.

No I just had one treat meal a week - even though it's tempting to have the whole day as a treat day, try to resist.

Morning/bonjour all. P1 D2 for me here. Still feeling quite cold. Planning on having my veg soup x 2 again today, some spinach salad with ACV and possibly some air-fried veg. I am so glad I bought my air fryer a few months ago! Hope everyone is doing OK
