@anoldcharter are you premenstrual? I always need extra will power the few days before I'm due on.

Always wonder how much testing of these drugs is done on men and whether women would be better off varying the dose through the month.

Friday I was starving. Ate a burger and chips, braced myself for ill effects but was fine and hunger gone again over the weekend.

@anoldcharter I'm the same, can't predict when the TOTM will be anymore as it could be anywhere between every 2 weeks to 6 weeks so never know if I'm premenstrual!

Hi everyone, so lovely to read all the updates and how well everyone is doing!
little update from me…
started end of October and am currently 2 stone 9ths down… 0.1 away from a normal bmi! Woohoo!
sticking with the 1.0mg for now. Hoping to get to my target within the next two months!

I'm going to be taking a break from Wegovy. I've had a terrible chest infection, which seemed better after antibiotics. I took another dose of 1mg about 4 days delayed, and my cough came back with a vengeance. I'm convinced my illness was pneumonia, and now I'm convinced Wegovy caused the relapse, as the stuff I am coughing up is not coming from my nose or sinus, it's coming from my stomach I think. I can't tell its happening, but when I cough it tastes like sick and my throat is so sore. So must be reflux. It's been really extreme and I guess just bad timing with the chest infection it seems to have made it a lot worse. I read about pulmonary aspiration and Wegovy can cause this so I don't think I'm being over dramatic!

Anyway, I can't take this cough anymore (it's been 5 weeks of extreme coughing) so I am going to pause Wegovy until my lungs are fully recovered. Perhaps it isn't this but I have to try something! Annoying as I just bought a 1mg pen. How long will it last do you think? I will have to go back to starting dose with it.

I've lost about 1st 8lb so I am sad to have to pause. At least I'll see what the hunger is like...

@EatingTillIDie omg that sounds absolutely awful. You poor thing feeling so poorly then having to deal with extreme reflux or whatever it is!
sounds like the best thing to do is take a break and get yourself well and strong again.
I reckon the pen will be fine in the fridge for a good while.. depends how long a break you have as to what dose to start back on?

Hello everyone, I’m on my last dose of 0.5mg and until now side effects have been minimal.

my last dose of 0.5mg and my stomach cramps and diarrhea has been horrendous, so much so I actually had to stay home from work which I would just never do.

i have already ordered and paid for my 1mg pen given that my first three doses of 0.5mg were fine so thought I was doing the right thing ordering a week in advance but now am really worried.

is there a way I can use the 1mg pen as 0.5mg doses for an extra few weeks as I now don’t feel ready to move up but don’t want to waste the money I have paid for it…

Yes you can just inject the amount you want.

Bear in mind it may well not be wegovy that's caused it. Because your digestion is slowed down any upset takes longer to clear, so it could be from food or a bug etc and feel worse than normal

Feeling absolutely rank today. Took my second dose of 1mg yesterday and was hungry in the evening so I had half a portion of takeaway noodles. That was an error. I was running to the loo at 4am and I’ve had the runs and stomach cramps all morning. Serves me right for trying to eat the way I was before. I’m desperate for a coffee as I’m so tired and have to work, but I know it’s not going to help my stomach. Will be glad to see the back of Wegovy tbh and give Mounjaro a try once I’ve finished my current pen.

I get awful stomach cramps if I eat too much or have anything fatty.
Mounjaro is worth a go. It does have the same drug in it though so it may not be much different.

@AhBiscuits My understanding was that Mounjaro is mainly tirzepatide while Wegovy is semaglutide so different active ingredients but both work in a similar way on the same receptors.

I am really struggling with side effects since moving to 1mg - had hardly any before. I'm thinking of trying .75 but can't find a click chart for the 1mg pen. I did scroll back but can only see 1.7 and 2.4. Can anyone help please?

Just count the clicks to 1 then decide. It’s not an exact science but a rough approximation.

I am on week 3 of my 1mg dose and FINALLY something seems to be happening. For the last two days I have felt full pretty quickly with both my lunch and my dinner. I finally felt ready and able to dish up a simple meal of roast chicken, green leafy veg, gravy and stuffing but resisted having any potatoes last night, without wanting to have them. It was a smallish plateful to start with (for me anyway) but I couldn't finish it.

Already the scales are showing 3 or 4 lbs of loss in the last week or so, whereas I only managed to lose about 3 pounds in all the other 8 weeks put together.

Thanks - so on my pens I’ve had I’ve just turned it to 0.25 and then 0.5.

how do I know I’m halfway with the 1.0mg (sorry if that’s a daft question) I just don’t want ti waste it.

I did wonder if a bug, but it just seemed to be cramps after that last dose.

Wegovy contains a GLP-1 agonist called Semaglutide.

Mounjaro contains a GLP-1 agonist and a GIP agonist and the two together are called Tirzepatide.

So, effectively, a lot of what they do in the body is the same. Both are said to have similar adverse effects. However, it's not possible to say for sure how you as an individual will react.
