I had a few treats yesterday for mother's day and a glass of wine. The usual awful stomach pain today 😑

Here I am moaning again. This week has been good for once with little interest in food. I've had less than 1,000 calories per day, round 900 ish.
I doubt I've had more than 1,300 calories any day for weeks.
Weighed myself this morning, poxy 0.2 pounds lost. On this plus side, I'm 16 weeks in, trying to lose weight and not given up yet. Total loss 25.6 pounds.

jay55 · 11/03/2024 09:47

Well done to everyone losing and those sticking to it when not. It's good to read encouraging news.

Had my first dose weds, Thursday no change, Friday appetite reduced but still hungry in the morning. Saturday no hunger at all, pretty awful trapped wind, felt like a barrel most of the day, Sunday unable to finish a meal (chicken and rice). I'm surprised it seems to be working on the lowest dose, but am delighted.
Next challenge is going to the office next two days.

I do find the mind control factor a bit freaky when taking these drugs. But happy they work on me.

AhBiscuits · 11/03/2024 10:30

That's a good sign @jay55 sounds like it's going to work for you.

I've taken some electrolytes, a slice of toast and a cup of tea and my stomach seems to have settled. I've just injected 1mg and finished a pen. I have two 1mg pens left before going it alone.

A serious side effect I'm having is I literally cannot stop buying clothes. A big wardrobe revamp is way, way overdue but still, I'm out of control 😄😅

It feels so good but it’s so expensive! I also have no idea what suits me so it takes so long to shop.

I did try some jeans on Saturday as all mine are miles too big and they didn’t have a small enough waist size in stock, which was mostly just bad luck (my waist isn’t THAT small) but after always needing to ask for bigger waists I still felt amazing.

I’ve also started sending my Vinted parcels to the shop for collection so my partner doesn’t realise how much I’m buying. 🫣

That is the best side effect!!! Well done on all of your progress!

What an amazing feeling that you needed a smaller size! I’m loving the having to have parcels delivered to the shop 😅

Some great losses here and nsv's 😊
I'm just starting my 10th week and I'm halfway through my first 1mg pen. I weigh every 2 weeks, so this morning I am 17lbs down, yay 😁 about a third of the way to goal.

Hoping my 3rd dose of 1mg will not hit me as hard as the last, fingers crossed 🤞 have a great day everyone

AhBiscuits · 12/03/2024 09:15

Well done @anoldcharter you're doing great.

I took my 6th 1mg shot yesterday and have a fair amount of nausea this morning 🤢 I'm surprised it's still effecting me like that.

OP posts:
anoldcharter · 12/03/2024 09:19

thanks @AhBiscuits :)

gah that's rubbish though that you are feeling so nauseous, this has been my experience too so far on 1mg, how long does it last with you? I seem to be tues-fri I feel really yuck then starts to wear off a bit - will report back on how this week goes.

Do you find anything helps? A previous poster mentioned mint tea and antacids, I've tried the tea but not the antacids yet.

AhBiscuits · 12/03/2024 10:42

Mine usually only lasts a day or two, I'm normally fine by Friday. I haven't really found anything that helps, just sipping water and eating small amounts of low fat food.

Lovesthebeach · 12/03/2024 11:40

@AhBiscuits that’s rubbish it’s still hitting you like that. Hopefully you feel better as the day goes on!

@anoldcharter brilliant loss so far! Sounds like it’s working really well for you x

TheWayOfTheWorld · 12/03/2024 12:43

I'm nearly 11 months in and haven't made it to 1mg yet - don't intend to either, 0.5mg was bad enough for the first few doses Confused

LemonKitten · 12/03/2024 12:50

Well, I'm on my second dose of 0.25mg and was out for the day on Friday, so my food choices weren't the best. I'd allowed myself 1500 calories but was nearer 1800 if I'm honest.

On Sunday I discovered Mr Kipling Viennese Whirl ice-cream - I was good and measured an amount to eat within my calories, but within about an hour I had the worst diarrhoea I can remember! So that was a lesson learned (well, I say that, I'm still eyeing up the rest of it if I'm honest).

Lovely to see people's progress, and whoever pointed out I'd lost 7lbs not 5, thank you, as I had somehow decided in my head there were 12lbs in a stone not 14!

Lou4564 · 12/03/2024 14:30

Hi all absolutely no symptoms up till my second .5 shot and going away later this week so would appreciate any advice for the nausea it’s so bad

Starlightstarbright2 · 12/03/2024 23:34

So I have been 6 days without my injection . I was in 1.7 mg - Boots screwed up my order. I felt hungrier but honestly have had terrible sickness , Diahorrea. I think my body is used to the drug.

I have injected today weighed myself first and stayed the same .. so I guess Boots saved me £50

Me toooo 😂😂😂

jay55 · 13/03/2024 11:19

Second jab this morning.
Am down 2kgs for the first week which feels good.

Yesterday I was in the office and due to the weather stuck to the canteen for lunch, which is fairly limited in options but managed okay. No ill effects. Am back to feeling snacky today.

Loving hearing about the new clothes binges, that's the best kind.

Hopthegoodgod · 13/03/2024 18:00

TwigletsAndRadishes · 09/03/2024 10:38

I've now done a full week on 1mg and just injected my second does this morning. Still no weight loss worth mentioning and no real sign of any appetite suppression either, hence no weight loss!

Me neither. Totally fed up .

123sunshine · 14/03/2024 11:40

It's reaIly encouraging reading peoples succeses. Frustrating for those not getting the results they've hoped for.
I've finally at nearly 8 weeks hit my first 1 stone loss. I'm feeling really positive about it. It has been a bit slower than I'd initially hoped for as i didn't get that inital big loss in the first week that I usually do when dieting, but i've consistently on average lost 2lbs a week. I'm now focussing on the next stone, i've a few more to go to get where I need/want to be. I've been quite fortunate I've not had any crippling side effects, just niggles. I haven't really bothered to count calories (may have had bigger losses if I had), I've just been conscous of what i've eaten and just phsically can't eat that much (and cut down drastically on my wine consumption which is a big downfall for me). Still eaten out, but chosen smaller lighter dishes. Moving up to 1mg on Monday.

TwigletsAndRadishes · 14/03/2024 12:28

I really do miss enjoying food. I can't even be bothered to make salads, I'm more likely to have two chocolate biscuits for dinner instead because I have no interest in cooking and there's no point buying food I won't cook.

That is EXACTLY what's happening to me. It's so bizarre. My interest in food has gone but my appetite hasn't. It's hard to explain and it sounds like a condradiction in terms, so I am glad it's not just me!

Today I decided that I have had enough of waiting for the Wegovy to start doing something to my appetite by itself. I am going to low carb again. I can't do full on keto because the combination of Wegovy and high fat levels might mess with my digestion. Usually my digestion runs like a well oiled machine on a HFLC regime, I'm just useless at sticking with it long term and tired of the yo-yoing. So I'm just going to focus on meat, fish, plenty of veg, a moderate amount of low sugar berries and some full fat dairy but not too much. No obvious carbs in the form of pasta, bread, potatoes, rice, biscuits etc, and only the very occasional higher sugar fruits. I just need to kick start something now.

I just had my first meal of the day which was a two egg, cheese and mushroom omelette with some lettuce and salad cream. I couldn't finish it! So obviously if I eat a low carb, high protein meal I feel the effect of the Wegovy more readily than if I eat something very carby.

TwigletsAndRadishes · 14/03/2024 12:29

And interestingly, I've had less nausea and much less pronounced constipation on the 1mg than I did on the lower doses, so perhaps my body is adjusting to it now.

PanettoneSoprano · 14/03/2024 16:32

I really do miss enjoying food.

Same here. I love food. I love meal planning, food shopping, cooking, feeding people and eating, and all of that has just gone. I've barely used the oven this year and we haven't had anyone over for one of my big dinners. I eat because I have to and even then I never fancy anything. It's made socialising difficult because a lot of my social life revolved around food and drinks with friends. I'm going out for a curry tomorrow night before going to see a live band and I'm dreading it because I don't know how I'll get through dinner without wanting to run away from the table.

I'm now 10 weeks in and I've lost 16lbs so that's pretty good. I really feel for those who are feeling crap and not losing any weight.

Is it usual for your GP to be contacted? I am thinking of ordering via medexpress
