If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

Hi all, sorry I've been MIA too. Kid only went back to preschool yesterday after half term, and I wasn't very successful over the past almost 2 weeks! I'm still down 3.3kg since starting at the start of Feb (gained a kg last week, hoping mostly water and food weight!), so could be worse! I'll be back to chat more later!

Sharksarescary · 22/02/2024 16:53

Down 1 and a half pounds so 260.5. BMI just over 40 so close to getting under 40 and out of the danger danger zone! Can’t wait til the NHS BMI app stops telling me to see my GP and just shows me a bar of my obese status. The little things in life.

I know it's not officially weigh-in day, but I wanted to share that I saw 12st 9lbs on my scales this morning, which means I am officially 3 stone down today 🥳

Next mini target is to reach 12st 7lbs and then my 3.5st loss 📉

Well done @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk .

It’s one week until the 1st of Match. I am going to stick to SW for a week. I’ve been doing it 70% and losing 1 pound a week lately. I’m hoping if I stick to it 100% I will have a bigger loss.

Anyone else like me who is not 100% want to join me for this one week stick to it challenge?

Workingoutlife · 23/02/2024 06:54

I started by joining a gym in January and working out a few times a week just to get myself moving but my weight just wasn’t moving because of my diet. I have significant history with Binge eating disorder and childhood trauma and am at the frustrating place of being able to articulate what I’m doing wrong and yet not fixing it!

I’ve just started wegovy this week to attempt to dull the drive to eat constantly- although the mental drive to eat is still there it’s def helping the physical hunger issues.

SW 141.2lb
TW: 190lb

CW: 238lb

so far the only side effect is mild nausea but it’s thankfully been intermittent not constant so hoping that will improve

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/02/2024 07:41

Thank you @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk 😊

Sharksarescary · 23/02/2024 07:58

My post meant to say well done @Bumblebeebum23 too.

Bumblebeebum23 · 23/02/2024 10:05

Thank you @Sharksarescary 😊

Gabriella83 · 24/02/2024 09:25

Weigh in day for me today. I lost half a lb. In a way a bit disappointed as the scales were saying 1.5lb loss yesterday but 0.5 is ok considering I had a few lazy days off work this week.
SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 17st 2.25lb
Getting into the 16s seems to be taking forever. Trying not to lose motivation.

I'm in! Been losing again since getting back on track on Wed, but certainly not 100%!

How is your stick to it week going so far?

PlantDoctor · 25/02/2024 07:40

@Gabriella83 if the scales showed 1.5lb off yesterday, I'd probably call that your true weight. You probably ate something heavy yesterday, or high in carbs which hold water weight!

@Sharksarescary one of my mini goals is a BMI under 40. It sounds much less shocking to me.

Has anyone else set mini goals, and if so, what rewards do you have planned? I haven't actually got as far as planning my "prizes" yet!

Sharksarescary · 25/02/2024 08:18

@PlantDoctor BMI under 40 is one of my Mini goals too.

I have stuck to filling in the SW app but I’m over my daily sins but still under my weekly sins.

We will see at the end of the week.

What are you following?

HearMeSnore · 25/02/2024 10:02

Weigh-in day today... and I have lost a very undeserved 1.5lb. I don't know how - I stayed with my parents for the first half of the week and had my willpower tested every half hour with "have another biscuit" and "can you finish off the cheesecake - there's no room in the fridge" etc. Plus all the "you're not eating properly" comments and the all-time classic "you're wasting away."

I have barely dropped from "Obese class 2" to "Obese class 1" on the BMI chart but I'm "wasting away" Hmm

Anyway. 9lb off in total so far. Still on track, despite my dad topping up my wine glass when I wasn't looking, and me scoffing jelly babies while walking the dog. So I can stop beating myself up for having a few treats. Yay!

PlantDoctor · 25/02/2024 10:04

@Sharksarescary I've done SW in the past but really don't enjoy group, so this time I'm doing my fitness pal. Aiming for about 1500 calories a day. On weekdays I do intermittent fasting but I do find I need breakfast at the weekend!

PlantDoctor · 25/02/2024 10:57

Well done @HearMeSnore . Maybe you did lots of exercise to counteract the rest of it?

HearMeSnore · 25/02/2024 11:53

@Plantdoctor Yes - I think I must have done. Not intentionally, but we did go on some long walks and I've been doing some DIY at home since getting back so that must be it. Possibly I was overestimating how many calories I was actually eating, too. It's harder to keep track at somebody else's house.

Gabriella83 · 25/02/2024 14:40

Yesterday was a bad day. I ate a massive take away..the first one this year. I was so annoyed with myself and still am but I've gotten it out of my system and today I'm back on track. Didn't really enjoy it. Greasy and salty compared to what we have been eating and expensive!

Bumblebeebum23 · 25/02/2024 16:35

@Gabriella83 I had a bad day yesterday too! I went for a 3 course hotel lunch with my friend and ate way too much (despite telling myself I wouldn't ruin my hard work this week!). However, I think the important thing I have learnt is that the odd "day off" or "blow out" won't immediately ruin everything I have worked for. It is one day off plan, and as long as I am mindful of getting "back on it," my weight will continue to drop. Consistency and perseverance are key. Keep going, you've got this 💪

Gabriella83 · 25/02/2024 17:30

Thank you for the motivation and putting it into perspective for me @Bumblebeebum23. In the past yesterdays bad choices would have set me off on a downward spiral. This time it's just made me more determined not to go back to bad habits. I've impressed myself 😅

I don’t stay for group often maybe once every 8 weeks I like the app.

I can’t count calories I always underestimate I may have to though when I lose weight as I think my portions are still too big.

Bumblebeebum23 · 25/02/2024 18:28

@Gabriella83 Yes, I was exactly the same. One blip, and I would fall straight back into old eating habits, telling myself I had ruined it. Sounds like you have made some really positive changes to your mindset, well done ☺️

Newyearnewarse · 25/02/2024 21:38

Can I join ? I am the fattest I have ever been , even when 9 months pregnant and it ismaking me sad and pissed off.

I am pooped now but will read the thread and join in properly tomorrow if that's OK?

JoeyBK · 25/02/2024 21:40

@Bumblebeebum23 I think I have found the correct tread ...thanks for the heads up!

Been reading through your last tread and feeling really motivated from all your posts.

I'm doing Cambridge...started last Monday, 1st weigh in tomorrow morning.
Start weight 14.11
Height 5ft 6"
Goal 10 stone

It's my eldest daughter's 1st holy communion 25th May so I'm super motivated to get the lbs down and be able to wear something nice & get nice family photos of her special day.

This week was so tough but I think I'm over the worst of it now. I did break out & have cauliflower rice in my evening products 2 nights as it looked so miserable.

Sorry for the long first post, just wanted to let you know where I'm at...my friends are staying away from me this week as they thought I'd be like a bear all week with the hunger...they weren't wrong...lots of early nights for me.

Ok...I'll stop now...looking forward to getting to know you all & best of luck for a great weight loss week getting closer to our dream goals.
Xx
