If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

You can do it adooray. You're already at my five stone lost goal!!

One day at a time....

BusinessSecretsOfThePharaoh · 12/02/2024 19:33

Well done on hitting the 5st mark, @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk! That’s a huge loss.

Just 1lb down for me this week which I’m a bit disappointed with as I really did think I was maintaining a decent calorie deficit. I’m back to using My Fitness Pal for the next few days, just to make sure I’m being realistic on my counting. I used MFP before and struggled with it because I was trying to eat under 1,000kcals a day- you need at least 1,000 for MFP to give you a daily report. It berates you if you go under they and I found I was kind of aiming for that every day which isn’t healthy or sustainable.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/02/2024 19:38

Well done on your loss @BusinessSecretsOfThePharaoh sorry if it isn't as much as you'd think it should be, that can certainly be frustrating. I think you're sensible to consider the possibility that you aren't counting accurately enough but another possibility is that other factors which cause your weight to fluctuate are at play and maybe you'll get a big drop next week.

Hi there and welcome @Adooree I genuinely and sincerely applaud you for the brave step of getting on the scales. I think most of us can relate to the denial stage where if you don't weigh yourself the weight you've gained isn't quite as real. I've got another year at least to go so I'll be around to keep you company and cheer you on for as long as you find it helpful. Do you have a good estimate of your total daily energy expenditure and a sense of how much weight you want to lose per week?

Adooree · 12/02/2024 20:26

@stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk

Not going to put pressure on myself and say xyz loss a week , as if don't manage it won't mean a failure .

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/02/2024 21:35

makes perfect sense sorry @Adooree

Well done your 5st milestone, @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk !

I'm not weighing this week, as it's half term and we had a family long weekend away. I was "sensible" but not on my weight loss plan, so not doing an official weigh-in, and I'll wait until my next weigh-in day. Back at work and back on track now, though. (I hopped on the scales this morning and it looks like I've maintained rather than gained, which is good.)

As we've said before, when you're in it for the long haul you need to be kind to yourself and live your life as well as lose weight! I am trying to tell myself this...

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 13/02/2024 15:53

totally @Morred it's sounds like you had a lovely break which is great.

HearMeSnore · 13/02/2024 22:51

Ok - 3 weeks in and a loss of just over 5lb so far. Modest but manageable - and I've already reached my first mini milestone: I can fit into a work uniform that was definitely getting too tight at Christmas.

Onwards and upwards! Next milestone: dip below 90Kg for the first time in 3 years.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 13/02/2024 23:19

well done @HearMeSnore fitting into clothes better is a lovely sign that you're having an impact

Dinner: jacket potato with tuna mayo with spring onion, peppers, tomato mixed in. Spinach and steamed veg on the side.

Supper: Kvarg yoghurt

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 16/02/2024 12:10

Weigh in day for me and unfortunately no loss to report. Not surprised tbh - stupidly busy week at work combined with school holidays have wrecked my routine but back to it!

SW 226lb

15/01 224lb

22/01 223lb

02/02 220lb

09/02 219lb

16/02 219lb

Still feeling motivated and know it's a marathon etc....

Gabriella83 · 17/02/2024 08:39

Weigh day for me. I lost a lb and 3 quarters.
SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 17st 2.75lb
Hope everyone is having a good week. Hoping to stay on track this week as I have a few days off work. We have a mini break booked in April. Would be nice to be in the 15s by then.

HearMeSnore · 18/02/2024 07:27

Good news on my weekly weigh-in this morning: 2lb loss this week which brings my total up to half a stone. Yay! 10% of the way there.

I knew I was making progress because - don't laugh - I had a sore belly button yesterday.

Yes. I know. But seriously - when I lose weight the waistband on my pants creeps higher up my belly, and now it's sitting right over my navel and starting to chafe. I have to keep reminding myself this is a good thing, while dabbing at it with TCP...

Workingoutlife · 18/02/2024 21:40

Room for a < definitely not > little one? 👀

I have 6 stone to lose overall but my first target is just a stone before holiday in April. I’ve got ME / CFS and PCOS and my metabolism seems broken probably down to endless years of dieting.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 18/02/2024 21:51

hey there @Workingoutlife welcome

SW - 1st Jan - 225 lb (16st 1 lb - BMI 34.2)
WC 5th Feb - 211 lb
WC 12th Feb - 210 lb
WC 19th Feb - 207 lb (14st 11lb - BMI 31.5)

Total Loss - 18lb (8% bodyweight)

Motiv8ed · 19/02/2024 07:10

SW 212lbs
CW 193lbs
TW -19lbs

I’ve reached my goal for February, but it’s my birthday over the weekend and my period (judging by the pains I’m getting) so I’m not looking forward to the scales next week!

Well done everyone!

Penguinpairs · 19/02/2024 07:22

SW 15st 5
CW 14st 3
TW 11st 10

3lbs off this week. Very pleased as I haven't managed to get my steps in most days with it being half term. Would be amazing to reach mini target of 13st 10 by the end of February but realistically that's a bit of a stretch, so will settle for mid March.

Congratulations everyone on your losses. Have a good week

Bumblebeebum23 · 19/02/2024 07:38

Well done on your losses this week, everyone 👏

I have stayed the same this week, which I am pretty disappointed about because I've tried really hard to stay on plan over half term. Think I may need a bit of a shake-up of calorie intake now that I am lighter.

Back to work and normal routine today. Plus more walking with school drop offs etc so fingers crossed for a better loss next week 🤞

Morred · 19/02/2024 09:48

Back on the weigh-ins for me today, after a break for half term. Down 0.9kg from last week, which is better than I'd hoped as we've been taking advantage of MIL staying with us to have a couple of nights out.

SW (1 Jan): 95.5kg
W (1 Feb): 91.4kg
CW (19 Feb): 91.1kg

Much slower weight loss in Feb so far but my first mini-goal of going under 90kg is starting to be in sight! Also starting to be tantalisingly close to my first stone of weight loss. Hopefully that will keep me motivated...

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 19/02/2024 12:15

Happy Monday everyone,

SW (3/7/23) 150 kg
SW (1/1/24) 124.0 kg
CW (end of week 7) 117.0 kg (-0.4kg)
Total loss so far this year 7.0 kg in 7 weeks & (33 kg in 33 weeks well)

well I suppose there are worse things to be than consistent.
