If you have a bit more to lose and will be doing this for a while and want a nice supportive crowd to hang out with while you're at it this might be the thread for you.

@SisterAgatha maybe...reducing daily coffees If you're in the habit of having cafe nero / starbucks type lattes the calories can really rack up, probably limiting yourself to one a day might be a good idea. If you have a lot of cups (12+) with a dash of milk in each you could maybe switch to taking them black or having a herbal tea or similar instead at some stage in the evening to reduce caffeine at bedtime and reduce you proportion of calories you're using on drinks?

I like the idea of mini challenges.

You weren't the only one going off track last night sisteragatha DH requested I made a seeded loaf and it looked delicious so made a peanut butter sandwich with it which I absolutely didn't need. However, I was mindful while I ate it and really enjoyed it and didn't have anymore, even though there was still plenty available for breakfast. I had fruit instead. The damage was done though, scales have creeped up a little but I will be angelic for the next few days to get them back on track.

I also have a terrible coffee habit but trying to just have a splash of milk and fir in some glasses of water to lessen it.

NewYearNewPyjamas · 12/01/2024 07:45

Glorious cheese gets us all @SisterAgatha

Didn't have the best day yesterday as I had a large chicken royale meal for lunch. Being on the road really doesn't help as sometimes I'll have a client meeting that I know I NEED to eat before. I could take healthy food with me - for some reason this hadn't occurred to me as my plan was to eat breakfast and then not eat until around 3/4 and a small snack later. It was working well in summer but at the minute all I want to do is eat and sleep. I think I will try that next week so I'm not dropping everything for junk food.

I've only been to the gym once this week but I will be going today once I've dropped my daughter off at school. I'm then going to try and not eat until a little later. Maybe lunch but probably around 10/11.

I also aim for 10k on the cross trainer on a Saturday morning but it's so immensely boring. Last week I did 6.5k and thought fuck it. I allowed it because of the Christmas dip.

mini goal achieved✅Under 19 stone

And I've now rid of all the Christmas weight and back to losing weight 'properly' so I weigh less than I have in quite some time. Really quite happy about that.

[I weigh myself everyday and track the highest and lowest readings of the week but generally only post on weigh in day. ]

Yay! 😁😁😁 well done @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk! Amazing news 🥳

EnglishGirlApproximately · 12/01/2024 11:20

Well done @sstillplentyofjunkinthetrunk 👏👏
Yesterday was a complete write off for me as I had a work event and drank a ridiculous amount and went to bed at 3am. Not feeling the best today so had a bacon naan roll for breakfast to help 🙈 On the plus side I did a lot of walking and dancing so hoping the damage won't be too bad!

RedBoxWithABow · 12/01/2024 11:21

Getting better over here as well. Still struggling to kick out sugar but I definitely increased green veggies at the expense of carbs/starch (potatoes, rice etc) so that's something. If I manage 1 more kg (so down to 90kg) this week I'll consider it a lukewarm, solid start and then try to press on to get to at least 85 by end of February.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/01/2024 11:58

Thanks @EnglishGirlApproximately .

It sounds like you had an awesome time and it definitely helps with perseverance to be able to give yourself a day off now and again. Remember it would take over 3000 excess calories to actually put a pound of fat on any upward bounce after a bad day is likely to drop off again quickly.

Well done on achieving your mini goal @stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk
My mini goal this week is to be under 18st. Last week I was 18st 2lb. I've been doing well on the meals this week. Trying to keep to home cooked food but I've rediscovered my love of baking🙈 I have eaten the cookies and cake I've made but have been 'good'. Only one thing a day. That for me is an achievement!

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/01/2024 13:30

Thanks and well done on your self restraint @Gabriella83 - I think one of the points of having a thread for 26 week people is a appreciation that it's a marathon not a sprint and about building healthier habits.

Good luck for hitting your own mini goal, you're really close!

Would love to join you please. I don't think I have quite 5stone to lose but also trying to avoid the scales and do things by inches/my clothes. From the way my clothes are fitting though I suspect I'm around 14/15 stone and my target is 11ish.

5 years ago I lost 4 stone on Fast 800/lchf/Intermittent Fasting and I felt amazing after it. I kept it off for around 12 months until I started suddenly piling weight on, turned out I had a problem with my pituitary gland. I took loads of meds which made me gain weight, then I fell pregnant (very happily!!)and just haven't lost the baby weight either. So... I've finished breastfeeding and am starting again now. I switched up my diet Monday and so far I feel in the zone, but aware this is a marathon and not a sprint so a supportive environment and some accountability sounds like a good place to be.

stillplentyofjunkinthetrunk · 12/01/2024 15:49

hey there stardust. I think many of us can relate to the feeling of just not wanting to get on the scales as the numbers feel so big and terrible. I know I've been there in the past.

You're welcome to join us whether you want to post your weight in kg or pound or measurements in cm or inches or not share any of that stuff.

Eat better, feel better that's all that matters.

SW 18st 9.5lb
CW 17st 13lb
My mini goal this week is to lose 3.5lb so then I'll have lost the first stone. Hope everyone is having a good week.

PotatoFan · 13/01/2024 08:48

Think I’m in the week 2 weight stall after a big loss week 1, feels like I’m getting nowhere this week. Hopefully things move over the weekend

NewYearNewPyjamas · 13/01/2024 08:59

So I went to the gym. 7k on the cross trainer and 1k on the rower and walked the dog for 2k - he has poorly feet so can't go far. Came home and had a toasted cheese sandwich 🤦🏼‍♀️

Saturday is usually weigh day but I haven't had a great week and I was so bloated my car was basically projected to the gym by trumps. I don't think projected is the right word but no idea what is.

NewYearNewPyjamas · 13/01/2024 09:01

I also forgot my £1 coin so that made the decision for me

PotatoFan · 13/01/2024 09:03

@NewYearNewPyjamas propelled?

NewYearNewPyjamas · 13/01/2024 09:07

@PotatoFan ha, that's the one! Thank you

SisterAgatha · 13/01/2024 09:30

Morning everyone.

Saturday weight in
SW 15.10
CW 11.10
TW 11.3

So a 2lbs loss this week. I’m staggered frankly because of the cheese evening (and we had a kfc) and I’ve had a few trips to the local bakery as well…

Since the other day though I’ve significantly cut the coffee - I was on 8 a day and am now on 2! Maybe that’s helped. I’m not a huge water drinker (grew up in the 90’s!) so I’ve been supplementing the coffee with zero lemonade. Reckon I’ll keep that up.

We got this, team 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
