Anyone else up for sorting their shit out, starting tomorrow 1st Jan.

I need a complete overhaul, I'm far too fat and look a mess. It's making me feel miserable so I'm going to do something about it.

I would love some company.

There is a healthy eating plan in this month's good food magazine, I am going to follow that this week. Today was day #1. The portions are massive!

cardibach · 07/01/2024 20:42

I’ve had a bit of an emotional crash this evening. Would possibly be outing to say what, but it’s knocked me and I’ve eaten stuff I shouldn’t.

TheShellBeach · 07/01/2024 21:07

@cardibach I'm an emotional eater too. Big time lol.

I'm so sorry you're struggling.
If its possible, can you try to draw a line under it and do your best not to carry on eating unfortunate stuff tomorrow.

Sorry, I know that sounds trite and probably unhelpful.

You sound so sad and guilty.

Thanks.
I will do that.
I’m quite sad. Regretful rather than guilty (about the past). I’ll get over it.
Trying not to feel guilty about the food. We go again tomorrow…

Welcome @Shiny88! Maybe a silly question, but what is the carnivore diet (assume lots of meat, not exclusively meat?)?

Carnivore diet is just eating meat, fish, eggs and a small amount of natural yoghurt.
This is the only diet that Iv managed to last all week without snacking or craving anything.
I guess it's all the protein keeping me full.
I also have loads of energy which is nice. No afternoon dip.

Hedonism · 08/01/2024 10:05

Morning all 🙂

I've decided to have Mondays as my official weigh in day, with a little mid way check on a Friday. I'm hoping this will help me to moderate my weekends! Anyway, today is therefore my first weigh in and I'm down from 66.4kg to 65.4kg, hooray!

Jellybean85 · 08/01/2024 10:16

Morning all, off to a good start and hopefully better than last week which was up and down!!

Been to the gym before work and had my overnight oats.

Normally would go for mid morning snack of toast but just having a nice
Cuppa tea!

Think I need to wash my dressing gown (I wear it to keep warm wfh) I'm convinced it smells of chocolate Grin

Shiny88 · 08/01/2024 10:34

I'm using Mondays too as a weigh in.
Was 15stone 8lb last Monday. This morning I'm 15stone 1lb.
Today is going to be hard. DD was ill though the night so haven't slept and normally go for loads of sweets and choc to keep my going through the day 😅

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/01/2024 10:51

I'm weighing every day to monitor but logging monday weigh in as my weekly progress.

Official start weight for jan 24. 12.3.
That's 4lb on for the 2 weeks of christmas eating.

No breakfast today.
Buffet bits at work today as it is a training day and the boss's birthday.
Then steak and mushrooms for dinner.

The youngest has gone back to uni so I'm setting up the exercise bike in her room. And connecting my tablet up to her tv to stream exercise vids from youtube. I plan to do some if the short 10 or 15 min ones in a morning or after work.

eatdrinkandbemerry · 08/01/2024 11:16

First week weigh in for me .
4 pounds off so i will take that 🤣

Swearwolf · 08/01/2024 12:13

I'll line up and weigh on a Monday too - 67.1kg, aiming for 63kg by the end of February. I'd like to be 66.5kg by next Monday.

Mumoftwo2022 · 08/01/2024 12:30

I’ve got 2 stone to lose heaviest I’ve ever been and it’s so annoying cos I lost the baby weight so quickly but then put it all back on so last year I was lighter than I am and baby was only 2 months and now he’s 14 months and I’m a stone heavier what a joke. Starting weight is 12stone 4 and I am 5ft 8. First weigh day is tomorrow. Method in going for is fasting on a Monday and eating very healthy the rest of the week for the first few weeks as don’t have time to fit exercise in at the moment. In a few weeks I will have a treat day but I need a big loss to kick start my metabolism.

dancinginthewind · 08/01/2024 12:34

I'm another one who is weighing in on a Monday. 11st10 today which is 4lbs off. I'd lost 3 of those by Thursday but then stubbornly stayed at 11.11 for a couple of days so was delighted with today's loss, especially as it was after a weekend. I am very much looking forward to not having to wiggle around like a contortionist to get myself into my jeans! And my longer tops actually hanging down over my bum & hips rather than concertinaring on the top of my bum.
I am being very good at planning my food for the day the night before which seems to be helping with some of the food noise. I know what I can eat each day so there's no point thinking about anything else.

This happened to me both times! Had no problem with my weight when i had a baby, but when they were toddlers it got harder.

Well last Monday I was 19st 1.6lb and today I'm 18st 4.6lb.
That's 11lb.
I think using the NHS app to track calories is helping me. I've never done it before.

👏🏼 nice work all you Monday weighers!

Yes please. I'm 5ft 7, 92.2it/203lbs/14st 7". Likely a size 16. Have gained a lot of weight since having my daughter in May and struggling with no time to exercise and binge eating. Has to stop. I'd love to get to a healthy BMI again (currently 31.8!).

Weighing in this Monday - weight is exactly the same but that's okay.

Starting weight: 92.2kg
Goal: 70kg or below (healthy BMI)
Method : IF (8 HR eating window), prioritise proteins and fats, calorie counting where I can, exercise (running and strength), 10K+ steps.

Good Monday - high protein and low cal lunch, filling from scratch dinner. Strength workout and plenty steps.

Random notes - from scratch cooking is so annoying on MFP.

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/01/2024 22:05

Oh dear! After buffet bits at work and a v thin slice of amazing cake made by a colleague, I'd intended on a diet-friendly tea. Then ended up going out for dinner with a friend. I had a steak sandwich (instead of my usual steak and chips) and left the bread to not be too full. It came with a handful of chips (about 10) and we had pud but I opted for the mini pud and a coffee. So indulgent, but could have been a lot worse.

I now will have the same lunch for the rest of the week (a thin bagel with philly light and ham, grapes or an apple. Maybe a cereal bar), no breakfast (cba) and then I just need to focus on eating healthily for my dinner.

Hedonism · 08/01/2024 22:19

@DrMadelineMaxwell good plan with lunches, it takes the brain work out of it to have the same thing every day. I used to make a big batch of something at the start of the week and have it each day for lunch. Then my dh started WFH and always wants to share, so it only lasts me 2-3 days instead of 5 😫

DrMadelineMaxwell · 08/01/2024 23:05

It works for me. I also take it all in to work in one go as we have a big (clean) fridge to use. So no thought and no chance of forgetting them in a hurry in the morning. :)

Shiny88 · 09/01/2024 10:25

Are you all exercising aswell? Or just eating healthy? I'm only asking as my sheer lack of motivation to exercise is real 😂
