It's me - Owl.

I lost access to my previous account so I cannot seem to find the old thread.

Shall we have a new one for 2024? Fresh start and all that?

I'll tag as many of us as I can recall!

Well done on the loss @ThinksALot. I think I’m down 0.5kg. I didn’t properly weight myself when I started but have a rough idea of where I was and hopped on the scales yesterday morning.

Feeling better today so made it to the gym.

Food:
Greek yogurt pancakes from the book
Grilled chicken, tortilla wrap, salad
Oat cakes
Roasted sweet potato, pepper and tomato topped with feta, parsley and balsamic vinegar
double serving of the hot chocolate

Rent: weights in gym

Runnr · 21/01/2024 18:59

Slept really badly last night, tried to make good choices today. I have run out of wholemeal flour so used white self raising flour in my pancakes. I also had an ice cream scoop while out which has resulted in me feeling sick, probably too much sugar.

Food today:
greek yogurt pancakes with blueberries
nakd bar
halloumi pitta with salad
oat cakes
grilled chicken with roasted veg followed by ice cream

Rent: nothing, went for a deep tissue massage, still a bit sniffly so decided not to run

ThinksALot · 22/01/2024 13:48

Afternoon all!

I hope everyone had a good weekend.

@Runnr well done on your weight loss too! I'm booked in for a massage next week too. I can't wait - I haven't had one in ages!

The weekend's food went okay:

Saturday:

B: vanilla oatbran porridge
S: hot chocolate (when out, so not on plan)
L: we were out, so we had a late lunch at pizza express - half a pizza, rocket salad, slaw and diet coke
S: hummus, oatcakes and some left over chicken

Steps: 15k

Sunday:

B: vanilla oatbran porridge
S: hummus and oatcakes
L: messy eggs
S: Hot choc from the book
D: bolognese with cabbage and brocolli

Steps: 12.5k

Runnr · 22/01/2024 19:15

Thanks @ThinksALot although when I stepped on the scales this morning that 0.5kg was back on so maybe I haven’t lost it just yet 😂

Food:
Poached eggs, mushrooms, wholemeal toast
Grilled chicken and salad
Oat cakes
Halloumi side salads, grilled chicken and roasted veg

Rent: another rest day but have done 9k steps

Runnr · 24/01/2024 16:58

Not a great two days. Drank wine last night and had an ice cream today. But at least I paid my rent!

Yesterday’s food:
Brown toast with a bit of cheese
Nakd bar
Grilled chicken tortilla with side salad
Oat cakes
Prawn Risotto, 2 large glasses of wine

Rent: 5km run

Today’s food:
Poached eggs, mushrooms, toast
Grilled chicken salad, cornetto
Oat cakes
Leftover risotto and a homemade sugar free flapjack

Rent: weights in gym

ThinksALot · 24/01/2024 22:00

Evening,

I just wrote a long post with all my food for the last three days and bloody lost it!

Anyway, the short version is: it's been a pretty good 3 days - nearly all meals on track - the only meals/snacks out of the circle have been some diet coke and go ahead fruit slice biscuits (one single pack of 3 biscuits). So not too bad. 2 gym sessions done and I have walked around 36k steps so far this week.

Starting to notice my tummy looks less bloated and my waist looks a little smaller - yay! 😁

ElvenDreamer · 25/01/2024 20:48

Awful few days here, back on it today though.

Cheese on toast (random, but what I fancied at breakfast!)
Grapes
Salad
Malaysian roast chicken with squash
May have a small evening snack shortly

Rent, not really, but lots of being on my feet so steps good at least!

JanyewithaY · 26/01/2024 10:27

Hello everyone! Just been catching up on everyone's ups and downs, hope everyone is having a good day today.

I have spiraled completely out of the circle! I had a straw that broke the camel's back moment in work and handed in my notice at the start of January, the last few weeks have been hectic. I just have one week to go and I am looking forward to being finished and having a chance to pull myself back together.

Focusing on the positive, I managed to keep up the lovely new skincare routine I started 😅I have time tomorrow to go and do a proper food shop so will stock up and begin again 💃

ThinksALot · 27/01/2024 08:45

Morning!

Sorry to hear you've been having a tough time at work @JanyewithaY - but it's so good you're looking to focus on the positives coming out of that situation.

It was weigh in day yesterday. Minus 2lbs for me - so that's 10lbs off in 4 weeks. I'm pleased but had hoped for a little more.

The next few weeks will be harder with lots of birthday celebrations on the horizon but I'll keep trying to get back in the circle as much as I can!

PlantsFallLikeDominoes · 27/01/2024 13:09

I've not been on track at all since I came back. Work has been manic but sat at a desk manic not on my feet manic.

Am starting again at the same weight I started out at 😂

I will make time for the gym, I feel so much better exercising and eating 5x a day!

BatsVSBelfrys · 01/02/2024 08:57

That's the spirit @PlantsFallLikeDominoes

BatsVSBelfrys · 01/02/2024 09:02

@ElvenDreamer god I love cheese on toast! So good

All fine here after yet another blip. I feel I've got my head back into the game now and I've realised that I was overeating - even when trying not to. It's too easy for me to underestimate nuts for example, or have too much cheese and I know I'm doing it tbh

So this week I've stripped back to 3 meals a day with no snacks. I know that's not quite LP but I've eaten in line with the principles.

I don't like to calorie count but I've kept a very vague tally, just to bring myself back into line

Yesterday for example was ...

Kefir yogurt with fruit, chia seeds and a tablespoon of granola

Hummus, 1/3 avocado, salad on sourdough toast

Roasted sweet potato, red onion, mushrooms and tomatoes with 1/4 block of feta and a bio live yogurt dressing

ElvenDreamer · 01/02/2024 17:16

@BatsVSBelfrys I have the same problem with nuts and cheese etc.

Well January is done, I've not really been slaying it, on balance it could have been worse but February needs to be a whole heap better! (Pic is the Jan food tracker page from my mood journal), too much orange, but thankfully only 3 red days. Onwards and upwards.

Today:
Yogurt, bran, blueberries, plus Berry balance and greens gut health supplements from Rheal, have taken to mixing these in my yogurt each day

Salad veggies, hardboiled eggs, oatcakes with Hummus.

Hot chocolate (cocoa and stevia)

Have got a quinoa with tons of veg and some feta cheese thing ready for later.

Rent: running

Evening!

I've had a bit of a mixed week - my little one was off school with a high temperature for four days - so getting in my step count was difficult (but I still managed around 60,000 steps over the course of the week) and I only made it to the gym twice, rather than three times. I've also had a big birthday, so have had alcohol and cake of course!

I have however been tracking my calories on my fitness pal to make sure my portions aren't too big. I think it's really helped as despite the above, I've lost 3lbs this week. So that makes 13lbs in 5 weeks - I'm v happy with that and I'm starting to notice my clothes are feeling looser.

Good luck to those looking to re-focus in Feb - you've got this!

ThinksALot · 02/02/2024 19:54

@ElvenDreamer I love the colour wheel as a way to track progress - I've not seen that before!

Runnr · 04/02/2024 18:15

@ElvenDreamer that colour wheel looks great!

I have well and truly been out of the circle for over a week and am currently recuperating from a 2 day hangover. Ready to get back on it from tomorrow. I think I’m going to try and follow the six week book as I like the idea of having a different thing to focus on each week. My dog is due an op this week and so I will be spending a lot of time at home, so hopefully that helps with the staying in the circle.

Cherryana · 04/02/2024 18:20

Hello,

Please can I join you.
I have the books.
I love her food and principles.
I need to loose 21 lbs
I have done this before …multiple times- would love to find a way to not always be starting again.

JanyewithaY · 05/02/2024 10:13

Morning! Hope everyone is keeping well.

I'm starting my Prep week again. My goals this week are to stick to my screentime/sleep schedule, make sure I get 10, 000 steps a day and fit in 4 workouts this week. I have 30 lbs to lose to ease myself back into a healthy weight range, this is the year!

GoodNutButters · 05/02/2024 16:58

Well hello everyone! I was on the thread in 2022 when I lost 10kg of baby weight through the method and since then slipped back out of the circle on a long-term basis and have just sort of... stayed the same. Which is a lot better than putting the weight back on, and I think says a lot about how healthy and functional this method is, but I would now very much like to lose more as I am actually still overweight, so I'm starting the six week programme again this week!

I won't be posting exactly what I eat every day because I found that last time this reawakened some old unhealthy tendencies in me (which was probably why I stepped out of the circle for a while) but I'm here, and still a big LPM fan! I really love the recipes and lots of them have become family staples (especially the vitality smoothie) so I'm excited to try out some new ones this time around.

Runnr · 05/02/2024 17:51

Absolutely shattered today. Was going to go to the gym after work but decided against it as feel really tired. I need to do a meal plan and a food shop.

Rent: dog walk

Food:
Poached eggs, mushrooms, toast
Grilled chicken, tortilla, salad
Oat cakes
Turkish eggs

PlantsFallLikeDominoes · 05/02/2024 20:11

Well done everyone sticking to it or getting back to it.

I've been very active but not stuck to LP plan diet wise.

This week I'm planning on the gym 4x and a few swims. I'm not in the circle as sugar is back in my tea but I'm going to try again. I think I just like sugar and carbs too much even though I feel loads better without them!

ElvenDreamer · 08/02/2024 08:20

Morning all, hi @Cherryana welcome to the tribe!
@GoodNutButters I know what you mean about listing foods etc, I'm struggling with that for similar reasons.

So I'm continuing my up and down journey with LP. Have not lost any weight but am feeling fitter and healthier, generally less tired when I stick to it, and feeling I look better so all in all pretty positive.

I am trying to instill habits as it makes it easier to keep going. Breakfast I have down to a fine art, basically always variations on the same but I'm happy with it and it takes away the need to think, hence habit. Week days it's yoghurt with bran, rheal supplements, frozen fruit and or chopped nuts, seeds etc, basically whatever is in the cupboard and freezer that week. Weekends DH tends to do a cooked breakfast one day and oatmeal pancakes the other so that is all OK. Main meals I've always planned so that's straight forward enough. Lunches and snacks are a little more sketchy so I need to create a better habit there.

Exercise I have earmarked 3 times which I'm keeping as my sacred time to usually go running, but some other exercise if not. I also have a weekly pilates class.

My big thing I need to work on is an evening routine. Unfortunately the nature of my job and family life means evenings are different from week to week, I haven't crafted a plan that works so often end up mindlessly eating something daft while my brain struggles to function!

Hope everyone else is doing OK.

ThinksALot · 09/02/2024 09:58

Morning all,

So today is my 6 week weigh in and I lost another 1lb this week making a total of 1 stone in 6 weeks. I'm pretty chuffed with that particularly considering I had a big birthday in the middle of it and lots of eating out and celebrating.

@ElvenDreamer - glad you're feeling better, it sounds like if you get some good lunchtime ideas under your belt, that you'll be sorted in the day. Is there anything you could do to break the habit of mindless eating in the evening? I've left my manicure bag next to the sofa, so instead of snacking, I get my cuticle oil and nail buffer out to distract me. It stops me from snacking, and as a bonus my nails are looking better!

@PlantsFallLikeDominoes - I'm allowing myself some sugar/food which has sugar - but just small amounts. I don't think I would last the amount of time I need to, to lose all the weight without any at all.

@GoodNutButters and @Cherryana I hope your first weeks back on LPM have been going well, and @JanyewithaY, I hope your prep week is proving useful.

@Runnr - I hope your dog has recovered from their op and your home-based week is helping you to stick on track.

I'm away this weekend - so it's another weekend full of food. I'm hoping to get in some good walks along the Cornish coast if the weather allows!

Runnr · 12/02/2024 06:06

Thanks @ThinksALot - it sort of has but I’ve definitely not been on method all week with limited exercise and have had a few drinks when friends have come over instead of going out. I know life will always get in the way and I don’t know whether it’s worth restarting with this week being a prep week and then week one starting proper next week. I say this because I don’t have my bedtime routine worked out yet, I have half a home made cake that I definitely do not want to bin and want to eat this week and I have a Valentines night with my girlfriends planned and it would be nice to have a couple of glasses of wine with them.

ElvenDreamer · 12/02/2024 08:01

Morning all, just hopping in to say a brief hello. I am making the decision to give up all forms of social media and doomscrolling for lent, hoping this will A) break my phone addiction habit a bit and B) help sort my evening LP routine as I tend to snack when I scroll. Keep on keeping on everyone, I hope to find you all here when I return at Easter!
