I finally went up to the full 0.5 this morning after 7 weeks and I’ve had diarrhoea since, for the first time.
im not sure if it’s the side effects of this medicine that are making me lose weight rather than how it’s meant to! I’m not eating as much cause I’m rather nauseous or yucky.
I'm going to give it another 4 weeks and make a decision on whether to continue or not.

What do you guys typically eat during a day??

I've been focused on keeping within 1,200 calories and choosing things which are already available to keep the food prep down which is why my breakfasts are so odd! A typical day for me looks like:

Breakfast = leftover dinner from night before
Lunch = soup or 2x brown Warburton thins with egg or chicken salad
Dinner = a lean protein, veg and starchy carbs combination like chicken and chickpea stew with brown rice, chilli con carne with sweet potato jackets, bolognese with wholewheat pasta, chicken and vegetable stir fry with wholewheat noodles.

I seem to be able to get by with breakfast and dinner being my main meals and have a lighter lunch.

PanettoneSoprano · 13/01/2024 16:14

@Tindrum sorry if I've misunderstood your post. Are you saying you're buying through Asda and your BMI is below 30?

Oncetwicethreetimesalady · 13/01/2024 16:17

@ProfYaffle my boots is massive and I still haven’t had a message. I’ll go in on Monday and see. I don’t want to start it this weekend as I am going to London for the day tomoz and can’t risk any digestive disasters!

Tindrum · 13/01/2024 16:30

@PanettoneSoprano my bmi is lower than 30 now, but I’ve been on Wegovy since October when it was over 30. I initially used Chemist4u who were great but Asda is way cheaper so moved over to them (my bmi was still over 30 then). You have to send of photo of your body in close fitting clothes and also one one the scales showing your weight. My point was they don’t stop renewing your prescription once you go under 30. You can stay on it with them even you get to a healthy bmi or if you decide to reduce the dose slowly and come off etc.

PanettoneSoprano · 13/01/2024 17:04

@Tindrum That's good to know, thanks.
I've been ordering from Asda and was already wondering what would happen if when I get below 30, and was considering changing to Boots because of what others have said.

I've just ordered my second pen from Asda and they didn't ask for a photo this time. Do they only ask again once you're below 30?

Tindrum · 13/01/2024 17:28

@PanettoneSoprano no it’s when you initially start and are over 30bmi that you send photos. I’ve ordered twice more after that point and both times under 30bmi and they have reissued with no photos required and no problems. It would be pointless getting us to an overweight bmi and then abandoning us. Not sure who had difficulties with Asda but it’s not been the case for me.

Tindrum · 13/01/2024 17:30

Hope I’m not going to regret explaining this and Asda runs out of stock 😂

PanettoneSoprano · 13/01/2024 18:24

@Tindrum Asda? Never heard of it 🤐😂

PanettoneSoprano · 13/01/2024 18:25

I've had the raging munchies today and I've just come on. Has anyone else had this?

I'm ovulating and starving today. I've had chocolate and crisps. First slip up since I started.

Sunflowermoonbeam · 13/01/2024 19:57

How long does it take for the appetite suppression/food noise going to kick in?

justhadenoughofitall · 13/01/2024 22:30

Anyone else ordered from Numan?

Gingerlygreen · 14/01/2024 10:27

I've had no problems with Asda, they asked for a photo of my weight on the scales for the first prescription but none since.

I'm on my 4th day of the 1mg and have felt very queasy after food, last night I had salmon with veg and felt so sick within half an hour and all through the night. I'm not sure what to have today.

@Sunflowermoonbeam Everyone is different regarding the appetite suppression, I felt it within a few hours of taking my first 0.25mg but others don't feel anything for a few weeks until they're on the higher doses.

Pushkinini · 14/01/2024 12:00

Took my second dose of 0.25mg yesterday. DH took me out for breakfast and I had yogurt, berry compote and muesli. Usually I'd have had a full English like him. I'm feeling a bit nauseous now for the first time since starting. The thought of food is actually quite repulsive. I'm hoping this is the beginning of it starting to work as I've only lost 1lb since my first dose.

letsbepositive2024 · 14/01/2024 21:39

Name changed and have ordered a starter pack of 0.25 and 0.5 pens so two months worth.

Do hope this works as I so want to get healthy

letsbepositive2024 · 14/01/2024 21:41

witte · 13/01/2024 10:51

Just taken 3rd lot of .25. I'm feeling less hungry and making better choices and my clothes feel looser.

I haven't weighted though as I find that counter productive.

When are you going to weigh yourself? Be good to know if it's working

Jacci63 · 15/01/2024 00:14

So I took my 2nd dose of 0.25 last night and inadvertently wasted a dose as when I put the needle on I forgot to take the cap off so the dose went in the cap and not me! I will, therefore, be taking my first 0.5 dose a few days early.

So far so good, only thing I have had is a bit of heartburn tonight but I do suffer with that from time to time anyway. Considering I took this dose 2 days late the appetite suppression stayed which I wasn't expecting. Last time I injected my tummy, this time I have injected my thigh to see if it makes any difference.

I am going to leave 8 days between doses just to stretch the time between jabs as A... I am switching up to 0.5 early and B...these drugs are expensive so stretching the time seems a good thing to do!

Take care all and I hope things are going well, x

I’ve just ordered my first Wegovy and is being Delivered Tuesday according to the website. I intend to take it the same evening but worried about the nausea since I work mostly on my feet. Do you recommend waiting until the weekend? Must admit I am really excited to try it and don’t really want to wait but at same time I don’t want the side effects at work.

Got it from Bolt Pharmacy (not boots) for £147 incase it helps anyone else.

I haven't had any nausea, I think it's very individual.

Hi, exciting times ahead!

Personally I would take the jab on Friday evening. Everyone is different and you might not get any nausea but you just don't know.

I have had side effects but have had hardly any nausea.

Good luck! x

MathildaMattie · 15/01/2024 08:11

Sadly I’m giving up. In ten weeks I’ve lost 4lbs, despite barely being able to eat. The constant low level nausea has made me unable to exercise and chronic constipation has meant some weeks I’ve gained weight. Time to try a different strategy for me.

Don't you notice that the needle isn't in your skin?!

AhBiscuits · 15/01/2024 09:19

I've decided to do another 2 weeks on 0.5. I just don't feel ready for 1mg. I've taken a half dose from my 0.5 pen. I'm going to try and be a bit more organised and meal plan this week.

anoldcharter · 15/01/2024 09:48

morning everyone and welcome to all those just starting :)

Had a weird weekend, I'm nearly at the end of my second week on 0.25mg and we went out for something to eat on Saturday, I ordered half a pizza and a salad (crappy Bella Italia) but I did have 2 glasses of white wine and a large tia maria when I got in - not sure if it is coincidence but felt absolutely awful all yesterday.

I have noticed that I barely crave alcohol on wegovy, has anyone else found this? I would say that prior to starting I could quite easily pour myself a glass or 2 of wine most evenings during the week and more over a weekend. Its obviously a good side effect to have 😄
