@Mookie81 for one month?!

Yep 😬.
199 per month, plus the 8 quid delivery.
The 0.5 and 1.0ml pens are 199, then it jumps to 249 for 1.7 and 299 for 2.4.

AhBiscuits · 05/11/2023 15:00

Can I join you?
My first 0.25 pen arrives on Thursday. I'm 5ft 4 and 13st 7, the biggest I've ever been. I've tried so many times and I'm just getting bigger. I'm constantly hungry and can eat huge portions. I'm perimenopauseal. I just want to try a completely different approach.
Please let this be the thing that works 🙏

Tindrum · 05/11/2023 16:17

I'm on my second month now, and have just injected my second 0.5 dose. I’m finding the lack of regular food thoughts like a breath of fresh air. I’m not hungry for breakfast so just have lunch and dinner, and find I mostly have to leave some of my portion even though it is smaller than previously. No compulsion or wish to snack. The most amazing thing I’ve found is after decades of beating myself up for eating carbs, I’ve gone from 13st 2 to 12st 4 in five weeks whist eating carbs (mostly healthy wholewheat pasta, brown rice, pulses etc)! Feel like I’ve been released from the tyranny of the low carb guilt and now eating much more fibre whilst losing weight. Amazing!

Lovesthebeach · 05/11/2023 17:03

Hi everyone, how are you all getting on?
I'm due to take my second injection tomorrow… this week has been good but I think the last couple of days I’ve noticed my hunger coming back and I was thinking about food a lot today! I’m excited for tomorrow as I’m hoping the effects might be slightly stronger as time goes on :-)

@Tindrum you've just described my diet dream… loosing weight whilst still able to eat some carbs! Amazing weight loss in a short space of time… you’re giving me hope!

@AhBiscuits you sound just like how I feel… it’s exciting to get started!

@Helene2019 well done on a brill first week!

Tindrum · 05/11/2023 17:25

@Lovesthebeach aw so nice of you. Honestly I feel like I’ve been lied to all these years! Low carb or bust! The time I’ve wasted feeling guilt about having even healthy carbs like pulses, quinoa, barley never mind a piece of rye sourdough!! Not that the low carb diet doesn’t work but it is so unsustainable, especially in a family setting and so lacking in fibre. I am really sticking to healthy carbs tho, a couple of boiled new potatoes rather than a mound of roasties, wholewheat pasta rather than white and try to have more veg/salad on the plate than usual. Tbh Wegovy is so pricey I’m determined to get to my goal, which for my height, 5’3, is below 10st. I’m hoping I’ll be getting close by next March. Best of luck to you and everyone here on this journey.

I have a couple of questions if anyone knows.

I had to fill in my weight and send a photograph to get a prescription. Will they let me continue ordering once I am no longer obese (which will be in just over a stone)?

When I ordered it said it was strongly recommended that you don't drink alcohol. I don't drink much at all, maybe one on Friday night and one with dinner on a Sunday. But I have a couple of Christmas parties coming up. Is drinking while on it a big no no?

Lovesthebeach · 05/11/2023 19:59

Hi, I’ve had a couple of glasses of wine this week and been absolutely fine. I’m not a big drinker though….

I don’t know the answer to your other question as I’m curious too… I guess if you order from the same place they’ll see you’ve been on it for a while and let you continue to order?

AhBiscuits · 05/11/2023 20:50

Thanks! I guess I'll just see how I go. There was a mention of inflammation of the pancreas so I wasn't sure if drinking was not recommended because it could cause a medical issue. It didn't say you cannot drink alcohol, just it's strongly recommended not to.

I haven't yet told my husband that I've ordered it and am considering just keeping it to myself for a while. He's quite frugal and would baulk at the waste of money when I should just eat less. I'm paying from my own fun money, not family money, so it's not really his concern, I just don't want him to be all negative about it (then smug if it doesn't work!)

LivelyBlake · 05/11/2023 22:25

I have had the second injection tonight. Let’s see how I feel tomorrow.

Tindrum · 05/11/2023 22:27

I’ve felt fine drinking a couple of glasses. The pancreas issue does make sense but perhaps that would be more of an issue with regular drinking. As for dispensing the pens when a normal bmi, I can’t be sure but I would doubt that would be an issue, it’s supposed to be a long term drug with the aim of maintaining a healthy weight.

notabletocope · 05/11/2023 22:46

I'm taking my second 0.25 dose in the morning. Only noticeable side effect so far is bowel urgency a couple of times and of course the lack of food noise which is brilliant and so welcome! I'm weighing in on Wednesday so will report back with first week results. I feel less bloated for sure.

RachBakesCakes · 06/11/2023 07:51

Hi all please can I join? Getting my first delivery of 0.25 from Asda Online doctor tomorrow.

I'm 5'2 and weigh 14'8 so very much obese but still under the NHS level. I'm 40 in March & would love to have dropped a few stone by then.

Helene2019 · 06/11/2023 09:17

@Lovesthebeach thanks. I noticed the last half of my first week I got more nausea as the week progressed. I didn't feel like the injection was wearing off. Hopefully it will be the same this second week!

I noticed the meds completely stopped my cravings for buiscuits, cake and crisps - I didn't eat any all week! I did have some chocolate but probably half what I would eat without the meds. Over the rest of the month I want to work on reducing the quantity of chocolate I eat, I think the meds giving loss of appetite might support with this.

notabletocope · 06/11/2023 11:52

I've just taken my second 0.25 and the way this jab went makes me think I didn't do the first one properly! It did a click and then a series of small clicks whilst I counted to 5 before taking it off. I honestly can't remember that happening with the first one can anyone remember if the first jab was shorter or different to that? Confused I have felt different in the last week so it must have gone in..

Helene2019 · 06/11/2023 12:38

@notabletocope Yes you need to follow the dosing instructions with every new pen. Not sure you did this with your first dose. The clicking sound is the dial counting down the units of the dose being injected. So if it is clacking and spiral counting down then the injection is being done correctly. I prefer to give the injection in my thigh (there's a diagram in the leaflet that shows you where) as then I can see it counting down. Once it's stopped clicking/back on 0 then wait 5 seconds before removing the needle. This helps stuff seeping back out of the injection site as it's given it time to spread/absorb.

Lovesthebeach · 06/11/2023 15:18

I’ve just done my second dose. It’s stinging a little bit where it went in, did anyone else find this?

Hows everybody getting on?

hi 👋🏻 @RachBakesCakes

I'm not telling anyone about it either. Nobody's business, and when it works I'll just say it's the divorce diet Wink

LivelyBlake · 06/11/2023 17:44

I did my second dose last night. Today I am feeling full and slightly nauseous after a small lunch

AhBiscuits · 06/11/2023 17:49

I'm really nervous about starting but also desperate to start at the same time. I've read soooo many accounts of people's experiences and it varies wildly. From people throwing up and shitting themselves for 4 days straight and having to quit to people finding it did nothing and they lost no weight. I'm just praying it works and side effects are manageable.

Xiaoxiong · 06/11/2023 17:57

@AhBiscuits I'm thinking about doing the same. DH just won't get it, so thinking about ordering online and then just doing it quietly for myself. I've been strength training, trying to eat more healthy for years but I am nudging 80kg at 5'6" and was recently told my cholesterol is too high as well.

Did you just go online and buy it for yourself? Or GP prescription first?

Xiaoxiong · 06/11/2023 18:10

Well, maybe I won't be starting it as I've checked a few sites mentioned above and nowhere seems to have it!

AhBiscuits · 06/11/2023 18:14

I bought mine from Health Express. You have to give them loads of info and a photo and one of their 'doctors' prescribes it for you.

Mybestusername · 06/11/2023 18:40

Day 2 for me and I've had no food cravings or urge to eat constantly! I've not really been hungry and have been able to stick to sensible meals. No side effects so far either. Feeling optimistic that at last this is the answer to losing weight, and I can do this.

Rufeysmum · 06/11/2023 19:06

No. The needle so fine I never feel it going in!

Mookie81 · 06/11/2023 19:16

3 days in- food noise is down massively.
Eating dinner now but picking, not wolfing down as per usual and smaller portion.
Lunch was chicken with sweetcorn and spinach, no carbs.
