Starting Wegovy this week

Brand new waiting for 0.25ml wegovy to be delivered today and will start it tomorrow.

i currently weigh 14’7 at 5’6 and would love to lose 4 stone!

anyone else brand new to wegovy and looking for a buddy/chat?

@Babydavies1 please call the doc, 111 ASAP. You have had a semilglutide overdose and sweating nausea is an extremely serious sign. Make sure you seek advice. It can lead to pancreatitis or bowel obstruction in severe cases. I don't wish to scare you but please get checked. The pharmacy has been negligent to give you this and not explain how to use it.

Sorry I have lost track of the thread now — but those on 0.25 / 0.5 should only be on for one pen? Not repeatedly taking it otherwise as the other person starting it again said you’ll just not feel
effects - it’s a start dose incase you do have a reaction

weirdly I did get pronounced side effects at 0.5 (and did when I took a dose before going back onto 1mg) and I get none at all on 1mg! I feel absolutely fine just not hungry at all. So I would try and push through if you can and get to a higher dose asap. In the USA they start you on 1mg so I think it’s just being overcaution in the UK.

The wegovy prescripts are all 2.7mg/3mg which is still triple what I’m on! My colleague in the states was prescribed 5mg and she’s tiny 😂 not that I plan to!

I agree with whoever said to get your head down and get the weight off asap otherwise you will plateau xx

I'm even more convinced now that my 4th dose of 0.5ml wasn't a full dose, not only did the pen refuse to click round to the end I've had no loss of appetite, no headache, not a single sulphur burp and no runs. I get all of those each week after taking my shot and have done for the last 7 weeks.

My 1mg pen has arrived so I'm going to plough with sheer willpowerthrough to jab day on Thursday.

@Toppstileslover I think it's fine to stay on the lowest effective dose. If you have good appetite suppression on 0.5 then no need to move up if you don't want to. It's good to have somewhere to go if your body gets used to it and it stops working.

Boots seem to have it in stock. I've just had my first prescription approved and they say I'll be able to collect my pen within 5 days..

Sorry hopefully didn't offend anyone with my earlier post.... obviously it's not always easy to just "crack on and get it off" if it was none of us would be where we are. I wish it was that straight forward!

I certainly still have good days and bad days when it comes to my food choices but if it about 80:20 I will take that!

@troppibambini6 agree with you, it is so hard when you have decades of bad earing to reverse but you are right. Need a kick up the button from you people when I fall of the wagon or become complacent. This isn't an opportunity to be wasted. I had a really crap week whoch has made me comfort eat. Tomorrow, fresh dose of 0.5, fresh start on sensible eating.

I injected my first dose on Saturday, but only got around to weighing myself today; no batteries in my scales.

SW: 13st 12.4lbs
GW: flexible, 10st would be amazing, but I'm happy at 10st 7lbs

So far I haven't noticed much in the way of appetite suppression, and no nausea either. I'm on 1400/1500 calories a day which should give me a 500 calorie deficit. Hopefully it'll work for me as I'm so fed up with being fat.

I started on Saturday too and have also noticed little if no appetite suppression.

A little heartburn this morning and maybe slightly different toilet habit but that's it.

Just had some homemade soup, half a bagel with some soft cheese and I'm stuffed. Usually soup leaves me still wanting more so fingers crossed!

took my 7th dose of 0.5 today… (so 11 weeks in total) it’s still working well for me :-)

I think when I reorder next week I will go for another 4 weeks of 0.5. I just feel like there’s no point increasing the dose if the current one is ok for me :-)

Also took the plunge and took my first dose today at lunchtime after having it in the fridge since 27th Dec!

Currently 251lbs with interim goal of getting under 200lbs by the time I go on holiday which is 20th July. Hopefully that is realistic

Fingers crossed no side effects or at least manageable ones, picked up plenty of tips lurking on this post! 🤞

I have been finding the 0.5 dose really effective & have lost 10kg (22lbs) in 9 weeks. (Including holidays) The instructions say you can stay on the same dose if there are up to 10 days in between - with few side effects
My thought process is that if I can lose the weight taking a lower dose then hopefully I will be able keep the weight off more easily - if I start to plateau I can increase the dose.
If it wasn't working for me I would have increased the dose - we are all different & this medication seems to vary massively in its effectiveness from person to person.
I also think you have to consider the amount of weight different people need to lose.

I'm due 2nd 0.25 injection tomorrow and just this afternoon noticing I'm thinking about food today, my period arrived this morning (really very heavy too) so wonder if that's adding to the extra difficulty today. Just had dinner, stomach is very gurgly. In 2 minds whether to weigh tomorrow or not, first full week so would be interesting to see if any loss, but period arriving might have scuppered that? Hmmmm 🤷‍♀️

Today was day 5 of my first 0.25 dose. It's definitely "worked" for me in reducing my hunger and I've not really thought about food outside of meal times

Question for anyone who uses pharmacy2u - how you order your next pen? I logged on for the first time since I received my first order, and on the patient dashboard I can't see any clear way to do it. There is only an option to start a new consultation - is that what I'd need to do? And at what point in the month do you order your next lot to ensure you have it in time?

I’ve just gone onto the 1mg pen - started mid November, have lost 13lbs. Feel so much better, in part because my body is more comfortable but mostly because I am not thinking about food all the time.

Family meals are a little tricky as I can’t eat much at all, and I don’t want the kids to worry I am ill or something. DH not aware I’m on it and hasn’t asked / noticed 😆

Oh, and in answer to your second question, each time mine has arrived about 48 hours after ordering. I’ve been quite impressed with MyBMI actually - I had an email from someone after this consultant giving some tailored advice about intermittent fasting.

I took my first 0.25mg on Friday! Not sure if it's working so far ..........

Currently 14 st 2 and 5 foot 2 so BMI about 36!!!! Needs to be under 30

First injection of 0.25 on Thursday and I felt not so good on Sunday and not so good today. Supposed to be meeting a friend today but have had to cancel.

At least I suppose that means it is working! Also, I really do not want to eat so drinking my water with some rehydrate in it. Every cloud has a silver lining!

Taking my second 0.25 dose later today. I haven’t had any feelings of appetite suppression at all yet; I’m hungry and thinking about food as much as ever. But I know it’s early days.

The one effect I have experienced though is a change in my dreams. I’ve had really vivid, bizarre, and memorable dreams the last five nights in a row. I assume it’s related to slower digestion so I guess something is happening, even if I don’t feel it in my appetite yet.
