Starting Wegovy this week

Brand new waiting for 0.25ml wegovy to be delivered today and will start it tomorrow.

i currently weigh 14’7 at 5’6 and would love to lose 4 stone!

anyone else brand new to wegovy and looking for a buddy/chat?

Hi no I’m not but I think I’ve been prescribed the stronger pen - it’s all so confusing

Morning all sorry for all those not feeling great.
I have had four 0.5 doses now. I'm going to stick with 0.5 doses for now as they're still working.

This is my second time using wegovy (although it was ozempic last time) I completely agree with what pp said you really need to use it to help change eating habits. Yes you will lose weight still eating the crap as you are eating smaller portions of it but it 100% will go straight back on.
This is exactly what happened to me.
Also I would say don't mess about on it. Get the weight off asap. Each dose only lasts so long before the effects wear off. This still happens when you get to the highest dose.

I've now lost 1 stone 1 lb in 8 weeks. In the 12 stone bracket which is nice to see.

@Babydavies1 No, that doesn't sound right. If you have a 1mg pen, you have 4x1mg doses.

You would need a 0.25 pen to have 4x0.25 doses.

As someone said upthread, you should have a green pen for the starting dose.
(ADDING: cross-posted, you say you have the brown pen - that is definitely wrong for a starting dose. You will have injected 1mg, not 0.25mg)

You could try ordering a 0.25 pen and waiting to start again. Or you could count clicks to get 0.25 out of the 1mg pen.

I agree that taking another 1mg dose when you've not been on the drug before is not wise.

@Babydavies1 no wonder you're feeling ill, you've jumped up two steps.

I would go back to where you got it from and tell them you're on the wrong dose.

@Babydavies1 even halving the dose would be .5 and probably too much to start with. You need to get your body used to it hence the being sick

Thanks @AhBiscuits and @DollyPlastic thats good advice. It's hard to make the serious life changes even with the help of these injections though.

@troppibambini6 thanks that's also helpful, I suppose it's obvious really isn't it that semaglutide is only effective for a short time and we need to make the most of it while it's working. But it is hard!! Habits are hard to kick and I have a long established habit of comfort eating even when I'm not hungry.

I’ve decided to go for it and wondering where is best place to buy it from. I’m guessing supply might be an issue with all the new year dieters like me coming on board.

Weigh in day for me after one month of Wegovy and I have lost around 3 pounds. Considering that's over the holidays when some junk food was consumed, I will take it. :)

No, that's the wrong pen. No wonder you reacted so badly. You shouldn't be on the brown pen until month 3. The brown pen contains 4 x 1mg doses. It was highly irresponsible of whoever gave you that pen.

@Oncetwicethreetimesalady i order from pharmacy2u and never had any issues. They often have discount codes on too.

@Superlambaanana i can so relate to your post. Even with this medicine it’s still very hard to get out of long ingrained habits!! Last night I had a mini binge (first time since starting) and omg I am paying for it today… disappointed with myself as I thought my mindset had changed quite a lot… don’t know what got into me! 🤦🏼‍♀️

I’m still sick today, it’s awful. What if I do 3 clicks?? Will it make the pen last longer? I got a prescription and then got it from the pharmacy (private)

I wouldn't just take random clicks, I would take it back to the pharmacy and ask them to give you the correct one. Surely no one would prescribe 1mg to a first timer so the pharmacy must have made a mistake

Halfway through week 3 of 0.25 ….Literally zero effect whatsoever. Felt a bit sick for a day but since then I’ve literally forgotten I’m even on it.
My appetite’s remained the same. Still able to eat huge meals of whatever I like. Get proper hunger pangs on run up to meals. Lost zero weight.

Reallf pissed off Ive spent over £400 on this (I already ordered my 0.5 pen). This is money out of my rainy day fund & as a lone parent I should never have spent it

I don’t have the money to be on this long-term… I was hoping for some loss for around 2 months then finish. I don’t have a huge amount to lose but thought if I could lose maybe 10lbs on the Wegovy I could lose the other 10lbs myself afterwards (having retrained my appetite a bit & kickstarted things).
I didn’t bank on no loss after £200, and potentially only minimal after £400+ ….. that’s just not affordable for me as a lone parent working P/T. 😔

If you only have 20lbs to lose @MuckyPlucky were you obese to start with? I don't think it's intended for those with only a little to lose.
Lots of people don't really lose much until they are on higher doses, all bodies respond differently.

Thankyou for your time. I think I’ve go back to the pharmacist who issued the prescription, they should know if they prescribed correctly or not.
i counted 25 clicks to get the 1mg, so if I did 6, it would be .25 I presume?? Which makes me think will the pen last a lot longer? X
