Did my first jab on Thursday afternoon, appetite suppression came very quickly which I am delighted with as I am always peckish!

Just woken up now early hours of Saturday morning and I feel somewhat nauseous and light headed. I have got myself some water so will see how that goes. To be honest it is not that bad but is definitely there if you know what I mean.

Take care all. x

Hello all. I'm just looking at ordering my first pen. I've come across some posts on Reddit from people saying that when they get under a BMI of 30 they're being refused new prescriptions. Has anyone has experience of that?

It feels a bit disappointing tbh as I know that when I get there I'll struggle to get down from 30 on my own.

AhBiscuits · 06/01/2024 06:32

Yes there were a few people on the FB group who experienced this. Asda stopped prescribing once under 30 but boots continue until 23. I haven't reordered from Health Express since my BMI dipped below 30 but will soon. I'll let you know!

Thank you for that, it's really helpful. I think I'll go to Boots in case there's any problem switching to them half way through.

Lovesthebeach · 06/01/2024 07:49

My bmi is under 30 now and I’m having no issues getting it from pharmacy2u!

Also for those just starting I remember my appetite definitely coming back a bit towards the end of the first few weeks as the medicine wore off… this seems to have stopped now I’m on a higher dose 😊

Lovesthebeach · 06/01/2024 07:50

@Jacci63 hope you feel better once you wake up again!

ProfYaffle · 06/01/2024 08:21

Thank you both. I've placed an order with Boots so fingers crossed it's approved and in stock.

So I stretch out the doses still & administer every 10 days (I read 10 days was okay in the fine print)
Overall I have lost 10kg (22lbs) in 9 weeks (tomorrow) - I am due to take my 8th dose today (4th at 0.5ml). This was a big figure for me as I will go to double digits (currently 100.0 kg) as soon as I lose more (including a holiday - no loss & Christmas didn't weigh)
I can't eat things like pasty/pizza make me feel terrible (including hot sweats, vomiting) - that 24 hrs was not pleasant.
I drink alot of water & notice the difference if I don't - I can drink alcohol (hence the no loss on holiday) but I am doing dry January. Not sure at the moment if this is putting too much pressure on myself on top of the diet but we will see
I hope everyone else is going well

Pushkinini · 06/01/2024 11:36

Just done my first dose. Was expecting to sting, but I felt nothing. Really hoping this is the thing that finally shifts the bulge. I've tried so many diets in the past but I give up if I don't see quick results. I'm pretty good at eating less initially, it's just sustaining it over the longer term that I find hard. I hope that Wegovy will suppress this.

I have at least 3 stone to shift to feel better about myself, but 4 stone would be amazing and make me the lightest I'll have been for around 15 years.

Babydavies1 · 06/01/2024 11:46

I just got the 1mg wegovy pen, I injected the full dose on Thursday and have been so sick throwing up and weak. Is there any chance you can overdose. I’ve got the 1mg pen so that should be .25 every week. Can’t go through feeling like this every week, only just made it to the loo at work yesterday to throw up 🤢

AhBiscuits · 06/01/2024 11:57

Which pen do you have @Babydavies1 ?
Your first pen should be the green one.

Oh no, I'm so sorry! Are you sensitive to most meds?

trulyunruly01 · 06/01/2024 12:30

Are you sure you only injected 0.25?
You say you have the 1mg pen and you've injected the full dose.
Maybe you've misread and jumped to the third level pen bypassing the two smaller dose pens.
But then you shouldn't have been allowed to jump straight to 1mg as a first-timer? They shouldn't have prescribed.
I took my first injection from the 0.25 pen on Tuesday and have had no side effects at all.

witte · 06/01/2024 13:05

I did my second dose of .25 last night and woke
Up starving Grin. Going to try and restrain myself but definitely much hungrier so far than last week.

Oh dear. that doesn't sound good, I hope that changes for you. I took my first jab on Thursday and must admit don't feel the full ticket today, tummy ache, mild nausea etc. The best thing is I have no appetite whatsoever. I have, however, made myself eat as I know it would be very unhealthy not to.

I really need to lose this weight ( about 110 lbs ) so I need this to help me. I am slightly concerned about increasing the dosage as I go along but time will tell.

I hope your appetite suppression kicks in very soon.

Take care all. x

EatingTillIDie · 06/01/2024 21:18

I ate a macdonalds quarter pounder and I feel like absolute rubbish. Stomach ache and queasy. Whether it will put me off forever, or I will still feel it is worth torturing myself for a hit of the d, I don't know yet. Right now feel like I never want to eat it again.

Toppstileslover · 06/01/2024 22:35

Update from second week of 1mg land. Don’t forget I lost 2st maintained now want to lose the other 2st.

Felt fine last week but this week I feel very fluey from taking it. I did “lose” 7lbs last week! Realistically I lost about 3-4lb and the rest was water weight.

I would say to all new starters you are needing to treat it as a weight loss aid not a fairy wand

Make sure you are implementing new habits: for me this was drinking significantly less (never at home, one with a meal)

Make sure you are active: for me even at my heaviest I met my 10k steps. Now I do 10k and make sure I am going to the gym 4-5 a week

Make sure you are changing your eating habits: if you eat 3 weetabix/Mcd it’s not good for you and won’t help you lose weight. That said, I go for net calories and a cheeky burger is fine.

Ozempic is quite intuitive and the food that is good for you tends to be what you can eat without getting a bad tummy or side effects.

I have always found it significantly reduces my appetite to give me the freedom to have control. When I’m on it I try and only eat between 12-6 (have dinner for lunch cos I’m starved). Not every day, but i aim for 4 days out of 7. Weekends are usually hella busy anyway and just stops me collecting meal deals.

I did stop in the summer due to weddings + events, so I feel for the wedding person! Don’t give up. It did absolutely put me off socialising though - I went to one wedding on Ozempic and I was so boring! Hated it 😂😂

Said with love and to help ❤️

OhpoorMe · 07/01/2024 07:32

Morning all, took my last dose of 0.5 and weighed in today. Very surprised to see a 5pound loss over the last couple of weeks as a lot of chocolate has been consumed! But I still get full very quickly so I must be eating less.

Onwards to 1mg next weekend.

So I am taking the 0.25mg injection every 5 days at the moment so I'm essentially getting about 0.4mg a week. I was fine on the 0.25 for nearly 2 months in November and December but the first 0.5 jab made me so sick I adopted this interim measure of 0.25 every 5 days.

I'm still feeling nauseous a lot of the time. I've heard people complain about sulphur burps and i am finding I am burping all the time, but they aren't sulphury. I feel low-level rotten and so i'm losing faith a bit.

It could be that i'm eating the wrong things as @Toppstileslover says. I can't have a full meal. I can have about a quarter of my previous portion size (which obviously was too big but i don't think was 4 times the correct quantity). But then I get a bit hungry so I graze in the evening- and the stuff in the cupboard is left over Christmas food like chocolate and crisps which I nibble on and then I'm regretting the morning after like this morning because i almost feels like I have a bit of a hangover.

I'm going to try hard to get this grazing under control in the next week or else i'll have to consider abandoning semaglutide altogether. I've lost over a stone but that seems less than most people by this stage (well over 2 months on it).

Anyone else experiencing a sicky nauseous feeling a lot of the time?

EatingTillIDie · 07/01/2024 08:39

I hear you @Toppstileslover unfortunately I have very disordered eating so it is going to take a long time to correct those psychological issues. Wegovy is so far helping a great deal by suppressing my appetite and taking away food noise. I did not stand much of a chance yesterday being on my period and feeling hungry while out. Need to be more prepared but again, habits of a lifetime are not going to go overnight!! I admire anyone who can calories count and maintain that many steps. I've got my rowing machine installed (can't walk far due to knee injury) so that regime starts now 💪 My laziness is really something to marvel at, though.

AhBiscuits · 07/01/2024 08:54

It could be linked to what you are eating @Superlambaanana
I've definitely felt worse if I've eaten anything high fat. Eating in the evening doesn't help either. With the slower digestive transit it sits in your stomach all night and I wake up with a sort of queasy morning sickness feeling. I think it's worth trying to eat a little more for your evening meal then just water after that. My own experience is potato is easiest to stomach. I'll often have a small portion of protein, a small jacket potato and some veg.

Can you bin all the junk? I did that with the Xmas leftover snacks and although it felt wasteful I feel much better for it. If I'm wanting to nibble I just have a plain cracker for the crunch.

Well done, how wonderful is that over Christmas and New Year!

Did not wake up feeling sick last night thank goodness and feel generally better today which is fab, I did not feel all that yesterday at all.

I feel like I have lost weight so we shall see!! Could not eat all my calories yesterday as I couldn't face eating a lot of the time but I did make myself eat so still managed about 1100- target is about 1450.

I cannot exercise because of my back but I am going to Aldi today, so that is a workout for me although I will need to lie down on my hotpad for an hour or so when I get back. I am hoping that the weight loss will help my back, it certainly cannot do any harm.

I have actually got a few hunger stirrings this am and tmi I have not been to the loo properly since Thursday morning, I will treat myself to some senna I think. I am taking psyllium husk but that hasn't really helped as yet.

Take care all and happy Sunday. x

Babydavies1 · 07/01/2024 11:06

So if I’ve got this right, I have a 1 mg pen and therefore it should have 0.25 doses each time. I click all the way to the end inject and then I should have three left. I really don’t think I can go through that again. I’ve only just stopped being sick and feeling nauseous.

Babydavies1 · 07/01/2024 11:13

@AhBiscuits its the brown one, is this correct? It’s a 1 mg pen, so I therefore should have four doses of 0.25. I sent it all the way round to the very end and then injected that dose, but it seemed to go on a long time…. Should I just do half the clicks on Thursday this time so I’m not sick
