I don't think it matters @Pushkinini
You don't know what your body I'd going to do until you crack on.
I inject in the morning, feel fine that day, a bit sick the next and a bit of an upset tummy day 3. Then fine.

witte · 04/01/2024 14:35

I'm due to have my second dose on Saturday but I'm hungry again, so think I'll move it to tomorrow night instead. I was enjoying not having any food noise.

Jacci63 · 04/01/2024 15:23

Ok, first jab done in my tummy as I have lots of fat there! I was totally amazed how painless it was.

Weighed in and am 17st 9lb which means I put on 6lb over Christmas so that was better then I thought!

I have had a protein shake so far today and not sure yet what I will have for dinner. It is going to be so interesting to see if, when and what sort of side effects I get.

Take care and good luck to you all. x

I am feeling so full up on 0.5 it's incredible. Snacked a lot last week as was feeling down. Today all I've eaten is a bacon sandwich. Can't fit in another morsel not even a wafer thin mint!

That is excellent, hope it works like that for me!

Did you feel hungry on the .25? That sounds great

Gingerlygreen · 04/01/2024 16:19

@Pushkinini Have you got a busy day tomorrow? It might be best to wait until you've got a few hours ahead to just relax in case it makes you feel queasy or tired.
I'm always really tired a few hours after taking it and sometimes get a bit of a gurgly stomach and mild headache so I take mine at lunchtime and when the effects kick in I've got the evening and night to relax.

Gingerlygreen · 04/01/2024 16:23

Message for those on 0.5 or higher - I've taken my 4th dose of 0.5 today and my pen is now empty but it didn't feel like I clicked the dial around as far as previous doses.
It didn't show 0.5 but I can't remember if previous weeks did, I know the 0.25ml shows the number when you've twisted it all the way.

I couldn't click it afterwards to check because now the pen is empty the dial won't turn, I'm just wondering if there was a full dose left at the end or if I've had a smaller one?

Good news though is that I've ordered my 1ml ready for next week and have had the email to say it's on its way.

Should show 0.5, yes

Gingerlygreen · 04/01/2024 18:30

Hmmmm, there couldn't have been 4 full doses in then 😔
If my hunger comes back I'll just have to take the 1ml before the 7 days is up.

I've got a hair appointment in the morning but then I've got a lazyish day. Saturday might be better as the adult DC need taking to the station to go home in the morning but then I've got nothing planned. Think I'll do it then and I've still got Sunday to chill if needs be.

Not quite this much, I had more desire to eat, but I did feel full and after a couple of days large meals were near impossible (painful if I forced it!)

I find I still crave sweet stuff and can eat all that while I feel full, so willpower has still been needed. But it is a lot easier than previous attempts at all kinds of dieting.

This extra full feeling is great though, even snacking is uninteresting. I ate a few nuts for the sake of it. I can tell I'm hungry now in theory, I feel weak. But not particularly fussed about eating. I'm having some chicken soup.

Woolwichchicken · 04/01/2024 21:59

I started 0.25 in December and have lost 3kg (happy considering Xmas and new year). I have had a few side effects but they have subsided since the first week.

I ordered 0.5 from boots and it was approved but the prescription still isn’t in the pharmacy (it’s been 5 days). Is anyone else having issues getting it from boots?

None, though I picked my 0.5 up 2 weeks ago. Are you waiting for a text or have you gone in to check? I found I didn't get the alleged text but it was there ready for collection.

Woolwichchicken · 04/01/2024 22:16

I was waiting for a text so called the pharmacy, but they haven’t got stock yet. They said they will tell me when they have. And if they don’t get stock then they will have to cancel the order.

Gingerlygreen · 05/01/2024 10:39

Has anyone seen the BBC article today? A weight loss medication is mentioned so presumably Wegovy or Ozempic amongst other pain and anxiety drugs, I've read a few things now about how easy it is to buy without proper checks and I wonder if things will be put in place to make it harder to obtain without seeing a doctor face to face.

What proof have you guys had to give to be approved? If any?

I bought my 0.25ml from Asda and had to send in a full body photo and one of my feet on the scales showing my weight.
Month 2 I used Health Express because Asda were out of stock and they didn't ask for any proof at all then for month 3 I've gone back to Asda and they've asked about the gap in treatment so I've sent in a photo of my Health Express medication with my details on the sticker to prove there's no gap and they've prescribed it.

Hi all, I'm in my third week now on 0.5 and tbh I don't feel much appetite suppression. Really looking forward to going to 1.0 as hopefully that will make the feeling more pronounced. In total, in 7 weeks I've lost 11 pounds though! During the holidays I didn't lose but I consider that a victory compared to previous years.

EatingTillIDie · 05/01/2024 11:57

@Gingerlygreen that seems accurate to me. With Boots I had to fill in a form, no photos or proof. Though I think I gave them my GP information so they could share that I was on it. Can't remember if that was required or not. It was a very easy process.

Given the GP won't help until I go through a tedious 3 month online weight loss coaching programme with a call from a nutritionist every 2 weeks, I decided to pay privately. Very grateful for it too. I know what I need. It beggars belief that someone with a BMI of 43, who on record has clearly been slowly getting to that point over the course of 20 years, and been over 38 BMI for 10 years, and has seen the gp multiple times about it, tried everything recommended, orlistat, cambridge diet, WW, SW, intermittent fasting... to not be able to access it through nhs without further infantilisation about calories in vs calories spent and how much of your plate should be vegetables is nonsense.

How they balance that so people who really need it vs people who are being lazy, and how they tell, I don't know. But the online pharmacies seem keen to profit from it.

Totally agree with everything you said, my bmi is 42.3 and I am 63. So far other than being on blood pressure and cholesterol meds my general health so far is ok but I am not getting any younger.

I was born with too narrow a spine and I am sure my weight is not helping. It has got to the stage now where I could do with a scooter to get around but I am hoping a large weight loss will help. We shall see.

I took my first jab yesterday afternoon and I have not been hungry at all so far today. I have just had a protein yoghurt and could not finish it.......that is totally not normal for me and very welcome!

No side effects so far other than the fact I had to keep getting up last night to go to the loo. I am hoping as my body gets used to drinking more water that will ease.

Take care everyone. x

EatingTillIDie · 05/01/2024 19:41

Well done @Jacci63 that sounds similar to my first day.

In the past 5 years I've had knee trouble after a fall, and have now found out I have arthritis and no cartilage behind the kneecap. It has been a bit of a shock, the effect it had had on my mobility. I'm 40, and thinking I'd like a scooter and a stair lift....

I'm very glad Wegovy is now available as it seems to be a lifeline for many who struggle with eating. My knee consultant said eating for some people is a pure addiction, he is an ex semi pro rugby player and struggles himself! He said these new treatments are a miracle. He is all for it and wished me luck and told me to go away and not have surgery if I can help it 🤞

PanettoneSoprano · 05/01/2024 20:57

I did my first jab on Wednesday. I've had no ill effects so far, but I haven't noticed an appetite reduction either. I've been keeping a food diary, sticking to 1200 kcals and making sure I only eat small portions, but I do feel pretty peckish 😬. Did anyone else notice this on 0.25mg? I'm wondering if I did the injection wrong.

AhBiscuits · 05/01/2024 21:05

Lots of people don't have much appetite suppression in week 1. Stick with it, it'll come.

PanettoneSoprano · 05/01/2024 21:39

Thanks @AhBiscuits, I will keep doing what I'm doing. Other people were saying they could only eat a yogurt and were being sick and I feel left out 😂
I'm off to bed now to avoid any temptation!

anoldcharter · 05/01/2024 22:21

@PanettoneSoprano we all seem to react differently, I took my first jab on Tuesday evening and was fine until 2pmish today when I felt ravenous... Who knows if first couple days were placebo effect or not, I am also feeling like period is about to arrive.

Hopefully you'll feel some appetite suppression soon but for some it doesn't come until 0.50 dose. Good luck though 😁

EatingTillIDie · 05/01/2024 23:02

My reaction was so immediate I also thought it must be placebo. Appetite did return a few days in on my first week. My tip is to make sure you maintain willpower. Relax, bit serve half your usual portion. You will likely find you don't go back for seconds. Remove all snacks from the house. It's easy to eat when it's there and you can pick little bits. But if you have to make effort to go out and get something you probably won't as you aren't that hungry. Set yourself up for success 🙌
