I’m on my 5th week, took my last jag 1 week ago, I was meant to go up to 0.5 but I didn’t I took a wee bit more than 0.25 but not too much.
I'm taking the next one on Monday once Hogmanay over with so I can hopefully manage a drink tomorrow.

witte · 30/12/2023 16:56

How soon did you guys notice it starting to work after your first dose?

Maybe 2 days? But it might have been psychosomatic. Some people need to be on the full 2.4 dose to see any difference.

witte · 30/12/2023 18:43

@OhpoorMe thank you. I haven't felt very hungry this afternoon but it's no doubt all in my head. I'm very suggestible Blush

FiveCows · 30/12/2023 20:00

@witte i felt an effect within a couple of days, even only on 0.25.
Does feel like the effect waxes and wanes though. Some days (like today) I barely want to eat, other days I feel relatively normal.

Often though I can’t finish even a small portion. For eg yesterday I was done after half a salmon fillet and a floret of broccoli.

Within a few hours.
I did my first shot at 11am and by 3pm when I finished work and am usually really hungry I couldn't think of anything I wanted and felt a bit nauseous.

I'm now 6 weeks in and it affects me the same each time.

troppibambini6 · 30/12/2023 21:23

It worked really quickly for me too. I usually do the injection at night before bed and by morning it's working.
I'm also doing intermittent fasting. So I only eat between 12-8 (or sometimes later if I'm not hungry).
It definitely speeds up my weight loss. I had a few treats over Christmas but have been back making healthy choices yesterday and today and also doing 16:8. Will be interesting to see how much I lose this week.
Weigh day is Thursday.

NoMoreCheddar · 30/12/2023 21:30

Gingerlygreen · 30/12/2023 10:22

@NoMoreCheddar Could you take the second dose of the 0.25 earlier then use the remaining ones when you feel the hunger coming back?

It's going to have cost you more money but it's better than wasting it all together by overeating and losing no weight for a month.

I found the same with the 0.25, by the end of the week I was really hungry.

Thanks yes I think I will try that next week if this happens again. I think it would also be easier to not graze when all the junk food is out the house. There is still loads of Christmas goodies left.

EatingTillIDie · 30/12/2023 22:14

I felt it within hours, thought it must be placebo! But now I know it wasn't. Weird hey

Tindrum · 31/12/2023 12:21

I’m totally amazed to have lost a pound this week rather than the half stone I normally manage to put on over the Christmas period! Just gives me so much faith in both the drug and that I will reach my goal. Who else feels the same?

AhBiscuits · 01/01/2024 06:43

Right I'm back 🤪 0.5 injected and now I wait to see how shit I feel. The effects of the drug had definitely completely gone. I overate yesterday.
I will be slim by summer. 😁

Pushkinini · 01/01/2024 12:02

Eek! After pondering for weeks I've just ordered my first pen. We went out for NYE last night and a friend took some photos. I look like a whale and it's been the push that's made me decide to go for it. In the past I've done Weight Watchers, Slimming World and calorie counted all with some success but as I'm now menopausal it's so much harder to lose weight. I really want this to work as I'm fed up with being fat.

troppibambini6 · 01/01/2024 12:29

Happy new year everyone!

Omg I had about 4-5 glasses of Prosecco last night and I feel so so ill this morning. I feel like I'm going to throw up.
I definitely can't combine this with alcohol.
It's the first time I've properly drank as ive really not felt like it.

Any tips on how to feel better?! I can't even face a drink of water.

AhBiscuits · 01/01/2024 14:15

Thw only time I drank too much @troppibambini6 I was sick the next day and felt a little better after. I wouldn't force yourself to eat but maybe nibble a cracker if you are up to it.

Welcome @Pushkinini
I think there are a quite a few of us in a similar position, past success but now menopausal. Hope it works well for you.

After injecting about 6am I already have sulphur burps and mild nausea, which is a bit of a worry. That's normally the next day. Hopefully doesn't mean side effects are going to be worse.

troppibambini6 · 01/01/2024 15:38

@AhBiscuits thank you I'm starting to feel a bit better but that is not a mistake I will be making again! 🤢

Not eaten yet but might try some dry toast.

Welcome @Pushkinini I'm in exactly the same situation.

Gingerlygreen · 01/01/2024 18:41

Welcome to the new people.

For the first time in so many years in feeling positive that I will be slim this year, I'm usually thoroughly miserable on 1st January after weighing myself and desperately wanting to lose weight but feeling that it's impossible.

Today I'm 19lbs lighter since November and - dare I say it - finding it really easy, it's normal now to not crave sugar and junk and I'm perfectly happy to eat small, healthy meals with no snacking.

Good luck to everyone starting in January and also to those who've been here a few weeks, I'm sure we'll all have a much better summer this year.

So exciting to start my journey just waiting for the delivery confirmation email! How does everyone find the side effects I'm planning on doing a lot of classes at the gym along side this and does it make you feel any less energetic at all? Like will I cope doing the classes ? Thanks

I started on Saturday and haven't been to the gym yet, I was due to go yesterday and today but both times I felt a bit sick and empty so I didn't go. I've been eating quite a lot less than normal already as I'm just not hungry and couldn't fancy anything sweet which is weird for me.

I'm hoping it temporary as I usually go every other day.

indeed · 01/01/2024 21:29

I’ve just done my first 0.25! HNY everyone. I am 52, menopausal and 14.3 stone. Hoping to get to 12 something stone by the summer.
interested to see if this curbs my emotional eating and love of cheese!

Gingerlygreen · 01/01/2024 23:00

@singlemum93 my side effects are sulphur burps, tiredness for 24 hours after the jab and I get the runs a couple of times a week. None of them make me feel ill and are very manageable.

Exercise wise there have been a couple of times when I've felt sluggish but that's when I hadn't eaten enough, its easy to under eat because you have no appetite so I've been logging my food on My Fitness Pal to make sure I'm eating enough and don't make myself ill.

It's best to not go overboard with your classes until you see how it affects you, the only exercise I do is a daily dog walk and the weight is coming off quickly, I'm planning to take it easy while I'm on the jab then when I'm at goal I'll focus on proper exercise to tone up.

EatingTillIDie · 02/01/2024 08:35

Welcome to January! New year new start. I am totally with you @Gingerlygreen it is so nice to start the year with hope.

I have plateaued for the last few days but I have been eating leftover Xmas treats to cheer myself up, miserable few days stuck in the house with sick family! I, meanwhile have the opposite problem and constipation has started. Need to get some tablets today.

I am going to collect up the remaining sweets and chocolates and pop them in a food bank box today.

Nervous to go up to 0.5, putting it off for another week I think as I can't afford to feel unwell at the same time everyone else is sick!

troppibambini6 · 02/01/2024 08:56

Welcome to all the new people and good luck!

I'm on week 7 just weighed in and have lost 13lbs. I'm really pleased with that considering the time of year. I relaxed over Xmas and put a couple of pounds on which have gone now.

The intermittent fasting definitely speeds things up for me.

PanettoneSoprano · 02/01/2024 10:40

Happy new year everyone, please can I join you? I'm expecting my 0.25 pen to be delivered on Thursday.

I was on the low carb boot camp threads about 18 months ago (I have NC'd due to shame!) and successfully lost about a stone in 8 weeks, but I found it difficult to stick to long term as it wasn't very family friendly. I've gained back 7lbs since reintroducing carbs and not breaking the habit of pouring double cream over everything - oops. I need to lose about 40lbs 😭

AhBiscuits · 02/01/2024 11:10

Welcome @PanettoneSoprano
I hope it works well for you.

I'm feeling fine today after restarting on 0.5 yesterday after missing a dose. I was worried side effects would be brutal but so far so good. The scales are showing a small Christmas gain, which I'm confident will be gone in days. I've got a party in 6 weeks and I'd love to be another 10lbs down by then. I'd be firmly back in the 11s and I know I feel reasonably comfortable at that weight.

PanettoneSoprano · 02/01/2024 11:23

Thanks @AhBiscuits, good to hear you're feeling okay. 10lbs in 6 weeks sounds so much to me, what does your typical meal plan / exercise regime look like if you don't mind me asking? I really don't know what to expect.

Do you have any tips for taking the first dose? I'm thinking of doing it just before bed / at the weekend in case it makes me feel sick. However I know when it arrives I will be itching to start!
