Also, there seems to be a lot of talk of sulphur burps 😧am I right in thinking this is like eggy hiccups? 😷

AhBiscuits · 02/01/2024 12:08

I think just crack on with your first dose as soon as you can. Most people don't suffer too badly on 0.25 but you don't really know until you do it. I inject Monday morning and Tuesday and Wednesday are my worst days side effectswise.

Sulphur burps are very common and pretty gross. I find it manageable.

I've found the weight has come off quite fast. 15lbs in the first 6 weeks. I'll be happy with a bit less in the next 6.

I tend to have a few spoons of protein yoghurt for breakfast, a bowl of soup and a small roll for lunch and a kidsized portion of whatever I make the family for dinner. Just try and listen to your body. The only times I've felt terrible are when I've ignored the very clear full signals.

I don't do huge amounts of exercise atm. I cycle to and from work, do a reasonable amount of walking. I hope to start running again once I'm closer to 11st, I find running too hard when I'm fat, there's a lot of hills round here!

EatingTillIDie · 02/01/2024 12:31

@PanettoneSoprano I agree with @AhBiscuits start whenever, on a day that is convenient. I take it on Mondays but I find appetite returns by the weekend, but that's OK because I have DH to police my portions.

I don't get sulphur burps! A bit of upset tum some days, constipation others! But definitely plan to eat half the portion you usually do. If you are still hungry, get more - but guarantee you won't be and if you are a plate finisher like me it can be too late to realise you should have stopped. Then feel quite painfully bloated. Others get worse symptoms but my body seems designed to eat a lot of food...

PanettoneSoprano · 02/01/2024 13:58

@AhBiscuits That is such an amazing weight loss, well done you!

I think I will probably start straight away otherwise there will always be a reason not to.

@EatingTillIDie same here, I am never, ever, ever full. I really hope this works!

Thanks both for your replies.

anoldcharter · 02/01/2024 16:32

Can I join please? Just waiting for my delivery today and will probably inject tonight. In anticipation I have / will stick to around 1200 cals today. Do people tend to stick/track calories still or is it a case of listening to our bodies? (Which clearly I've not been very good at as weigh in today was 212lb 😔)

I too am perimenopausal and the weight has steadily increased over the last 3 years. I previously did really well with 5:2 but I've lost all motivation to stop shoving rubbish down my throat. I turn 50 in may so decided to take the plunge with wegovy.

I've read not to expect much loss on 0.25mg, but from reading this thread that doesn't seem to be the case? Excited and nervous in equal measure, any tips for starting greatly received 😀

AhBiscuits · 02/01/2024 16:55

Welcome @anoldcharter
It varies so much from person to person. Many of us have found that our appetite is very suppressed even on 0.25. I'm only up to 0.5 and have no immediate intention to up the dose, as it's working and I feel OK.

I haven't found it necessary to count calories so far but probably will in the future if I stop losing. I've found that I cannot overeat and have zero desire to.

Jacci63 · 02/01/2024 17:12

Hi all, have loved reading your posts. I have my pens and am either going to start tomorrow or Thursday night.
I may have a bit of a long journey on Thursday and will find out for definite tomorrow. Would rather not have a long journey when I am new on Wegovy so if is happening I will start Thursday night.
I have not weighed myself but could be as much as 18 stone. I will weigh myself the day I do my jab. I want to get down to 10 stone so lots of weight to go.
My main issue is that exercise is impossible for me. I suffer with severe spinal stenosis and am in pain about 90% of the time. I am hoping so much that weight loss will help.
Take care everyone! xx

anoldcharter · 02/01/2024 17:53

Thanks @AhBiscuits that's good to hear.
Good luck for starting @Jacci63 my pens have arrived so gonna read it all through and give it a go. Any tips on injections? Where do people find is best?

A question for anyone using Asda Online Doctor - do they let you know the day it will be delivered? I ordered and sent photos on the 28th and had confirmation on the morning of the 29th. The payment came out that day too. The email said to expect it between Saturday 30th and Wednesday 3rd. I’m hoping it will show up tomorrow but given that I haven’t had a further email might it not have been dispatched yet? That would be disappointing, but I suppose better than it getting stuck in transit and out of the fridge for too long.

Pushkinini · 02/01/2024 19:44

Does anyone use Pharmacy2U? My script has been approved but nothing further to say it's on the way. Can you tell I'm keen to crack on?

singlemum93 · 02/01/2024 19:55

@donkey86 I'm in the same position was approved and money taken but no info on delivery as of yet!

PanettoneSoprano · 02/01/2024 20:47

@donkey86 I used Asda. My order was approved on Sunday 31st and I was sent the RM tracking number at the same time. I sent a message on my Asda account tonight as the RM tracking information was still saying they hadn't received it. About an hour later I received an email from RM saying it is coming tomorrow.

donkey86 · 02/01/2024 21:14

@PanettoneSoprano Thanks. I’ve checked and I’ve definitely not been sent a tracking number. I’ll send them a message.

Reema75 · 02/01/2024 21:35

Hi all, can I join please? My first pen will be arriving tomorrow!
I am so scared of this! Glad I read your post. Anyone trying low carb diet with the injection? I do intermittent fasting.. eat between 13:00 - 19:00. Hope that will help with loosing weight.

anoldcharter · 02/01/2024 21:37

Just read back through the thread and now I'm really worried about how awful a lot of people have been feeling 🤢 I'm not sure I can handle constant nausea etc...

Fingers crossed it won't be that bad as just done first jab.

When did you order?

Mine was stuck on "order received" status for days. I had to contact customer service who said there had been a problem with it and they had to investigate. Couple of days later they got in touch saying it was being sorted and later that day it was dispatched. I'd contact them if it seems like it's not moving because there could be a problem with yours too

GracePalmer33 · 02/01/2024 21:57

My first one should be arriving tomorrow or Thursday. I'm excited..

Pushkinini · 03/01/2024 07:12

Thank you @GracePalmer33

I'll see if it updates today and if not, contact them tomorrow. I did only order on 1st, but the Dr has approved it so I would have thought it would have moved on a stage by now.

PanettoneSoprano · 03/01/2024 12:19

Mine has just arrived!

Pushkinini · 03/01/2024 15:19

Just had a text. It's been dispatched! I reckon if it arrives by the weekend, I'll start then.

witte · 03/01/2024 15:39

Has anyone got any tips for a newbie, I'm not hungry but feeling pretty lightheaded and empty. I am eating but it's a struggle to fancy anything.

I've just had some left over crackers and will have soup and bread tonight but wondered if this empty hollow feeling will stay with me for the foreseeable?

Thanks very much

EatingTillIDie · 03/01/2024 15:55

Over ate at lunch today. I think part of me was testing it. I still felt hungry after a small pasty so I then ate a small sandwich. I feel so full up I might explode 😫

My eyes that are now way, way bigger than my belly need more work!!

Have taken a few clicks under 0.5 today. Hope it doesn't wreck me. Noticed it stings a bit, a tearing sensation at the injection site a few hours after.

Nothing concerning, just reporting what happens really.

Tindrum · 03/01/2024 16:01

@witte i find hummus on a Karg high protein cracker always does the trick

anoldcharter · 03/01/2024 16:43

I think you'll find loads of advice on here @witte I started yesterday and I'm approaching it as a way to train myself to eat better so I'm logging calories and trying to aim for about 1200, I don't know if this is the right approach but will see how I get on.

Took jab last night, woke a little nauseous this morning but been fine all day, I made overnight oats and had half about 11am and the rest at 1.30pm, having chicken, roasted veg and a wrap for dinner.

I have a question though, when I did the jab it seemed fine, had a bit on the needle etc and I think I administered it correctly, but the glass vial bit that looks like it has the medication in didn't seem to move, I thought after 1 dose there would be less in it but it looks the same 🤷‍♀️ have I not done it properly 🤦‍♀️

anoldcharter · 03/01/2024 16:43

@EatingTillIDie hope you feel better soon...
