I found it a lot @OuchOuchOuched and I was sick. Felt dreadful for a few days. My second dose was much better though.
My tip would be to eat very lightly and avoid anything fatty for a few days. The main reason I was sick I think is I had a work thing and had a slice of pizza and a pint of cider. Really bad move.

Moirarosesgarden · 26/12/2023 12:33

I’m starting on Monday, have got my 0.25 in the fridge ready to start!

I need to do a grocery shop beforehand to ensure I have enough in. What would you recommmend for breakfasts/lunch/dinners?

I am a carb lover usually so love bread, pasta and potatos. I want to use this as a means of changing my food choices long term though so don’t just want to eat less of the same crap! What should I add to my tesco shop please so I am prepared?

Well after a bad start to the day I rallied! Made a Christmas lunch for all which they loved. Obviously I wasn’t able to partake very much but it didn’t matter at all. Hope everyone had a great Christmas as well. I’m now in the mid point of the overweight bmi category so heading in the right direction. Im finding 1mg a very strong dose not planning to move up for the foreseeable. I bought some extra needles so might take .75 next week and see how that goes.@AhBiscuits I’d go for the sale dress, it would be a great incentive!

Where did you get extra needles from please?

AhBiscuits · 26/12/2023 12:54

@Moirarosesgarden I tend to have a few spoons of protein yoghurt and a small banana for breakfast, either a sandwich or a bowl of soup and a small roll for lunch and then just a tiny portion of whatever I'm making for the family for dinner. I find potatoes in particular quite easy to stomach. A small baked potato with tuna and salad is an ideal meal for me.
There's no need to avoid carbs, they will help settle your stomach IME.

Tindrum · 26/12/2023 12:54

@Annwithout i got the ‘Needle Harmofine G31 5mm 100 Pieces’ from Amazon.

EC22 · 26/12/2023 13:49

I overate yesterday and had those awful burps and reflux into the evening. But I had a lovely Christmas Day. I can still graze a lot but can’t manage big portions, so I need to keep on top of the grazing.

Tindrum · 26/12/2023 13:52

Apologies it was the ‘Set Lance Diabetic Insulin Pen Tips 32G x 4 mm (100 Pcs/Box)’ I bought. The ones above are what Amazon are offering as the ones I bought are out of stock now.

221BBakerSt · 26/12/2023 15:27

@Moirarosesgarden I could live on thick protein yoghurt/quark, have that as a meal most days. Definitely find jacket potatoes gentle on stomach, bagels too which I never usually feel like (warbuton thin protein seedy bagel things). I put a smear of nut butter or Philadelphia on the bagel. Soup.
The one thing that has actually given me stomach ache is stir fry vegetables.

24lbs down in 44days. 55lbs to go. Next milestone is in a stone: I’ll become overweight bmi rather than obese.

Moirarosesgarden · 26/12/2023 16:22

Wow @221BBakerSt that’s amazing!!
I’m really excited to get started, just hope I’m a lucky one with minimal side effects!

will add protein yogurt, bagels and Philly to the shopping list!

Tindrum · 26/12/2023 16:32

@Moirarosesgarden a fave lunch of mine is Tim’s kefir yogurt, berries, sprinkle of nuts and some ground linseeds - keeps me going for ages and gives a good dose of healthy things and never causes any issues. In the evening I tend to have a small portion of what the family is having, but too spicy, fatty and tomatoee food can cause reflux for me so I tend to cook dishes that avoid that. @221BBakerSt best of luck getting into that healthy bmi bracket - you can do it!

221BBakerSt · 26/12/2023 17:37

@Tindrum you've just reminded me I can grind linseed now I’ve finally bought myself a new coffee grinder. Thank you, re luck, I do find support and accountability here helpful as I have no family left sadly.

GracePalmer33 · 26/12/2023 18:31

For those who have obtained wegovy privately - I am trying to buy it but unsure what exactly I need to say in order to be approved for it. I have tried every diet under the sun in the last few years but can't stay consistent with them or stay within the amount of calories my body needs to lose weight because of the hunger/cravings for sweet things and other calorie-laden things. Is that all I need to say or are there some other key things the online doctor needs to hear from me in order to prescribe it?

AhBiscuits · 26/12/2023 18:32

You just need to have a BMI over 30 and no relevant medical conditions.

Lovesthebeach · 26/12/2023 18:36

Oh my word…. My tummy and my poor bum… tmi…. But let’s just say even though I’ve eaten really responsibly over the last few days my tummy has not enjoyed the rich Xmas food….

Think I’m going to have to not eat for a while in the hope it settles down!

Has anyone else had this problem?? I feel so tired now….

Striving4Better · 26/12/2023 18:40

@GracePalmer33 Just be honest. They will want to know your weight and height, and will probably want to see photos, so be prepared with something like shorts and T-shirt to wear. They may also want to see a picture of you standing on the scales.

For people from certain ethnic backgrounds, a BMI of over 27 makes you eligible. Certain conditions also make you a candidate.

The questions they ask are not difficult. The worst thing is the photos. You will need to be obese or overweight with risk factors to be approved. The worst they can do is decline your request.

Dopaminefuelled · 26/12/2023 19:15

@EC22 apologies if you've already said, but what app is that screen shot from? (A couple of your posts back) it looks like it mentions how much ozempic/wegovy is in your system.

Thanks

EC22 · 26/12/2023 19:26

It’s a wegovy weight loss tracker, I just found it on apple apps.

Dopaminefuelled · 26/12/2023 20:02

@EC22 thanks. I have an android so I'll have a look if there is anything similar

Tindrum · 26/12/2023 21:34

@221BBakerSt lots of support here for you! You must be one of the quickest losers here so you’ll get there in no time 😁

Gingerlygreen · 27/12/2023 09:21

@GracePalmer33 It's remarkably easy to buy, I do wonder over time if it'll change and you'll have to see someone face to face before being approved.
Fill in the questionnaire and see, you might be asked for a photo, I used Asda for the first lot and had to send in a full body photo which was then accepted within a couple of hours and the order sent.
It was super quick, I applied late on a Sunday evening and the order arrived on the Tuesday morning.

@Lovesthebeach Yep I'm having exactly the same issues, better than constipation though because at least it's coming out!
What dose are you on?
I'm due to take my 3rd 0.5 tomorrow (which reminds me that I need to order the 1mg soon)

MuckyPlucky · 27/12/2023 09:33

Hi all. Please may I join? Ordered Wegovy last week but wanted to get Christmas Day out the way before starting it… so I started yesterday (Boxing Day) around noon …. 0.25mg. ….So far I can’t feel a thing & am worrying I didn’t do it correctly. 😥
Also - I had a hot shower directly after injecting… could that have caused the medication to leak back out of my skin/tissue maybe?

Ive pinned everything on this working (including finances that I really can’t afford) so I’m terrified I’ve wasted a dose…. Can anyone advise? 🙏🏻

OuchOuchOuched · 26/12/2023 11:41

I need to move from 0.25 to 0.5, I'm scared about side effects. I have a fear of being sick! How has everyone else found it?

The thing to remember is that everyone is different. I had a few burps the first day I took Wegovy and the first day I went up to 0.5. In both cases felt very tired and needed a nap after work for a couple of days. After that, no difference. I personally have never had nausea or diarrhoea and I'm not eating anything very different. Less of it, sure, but if I have six Ferrero Rocher for breakfast because it's Christmas Day that's not going to feel any different to me from my usual (piece of fruit). And if food is in front of me, even if I wasn't hungry, it's easy enough to clear my plate once I start eating. And I don't have any effects from alcohol except that it hits a bit harder when I'm not eating as much. (I think it must be a redhead thing - we metabolise drugs very efficiently!)

Have just taken my second 0.5 right after Christmas Dinner. Had a large dinner with wine on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day and I think I'll be less hungry once the shot kicks in properly today/tomorrow. I have lost nearly a stone, though back up 2lbs from Christmas eating so far.

What I am finding is that it's very difficult to stay hydrated. I'm drinking more water and peppermint tea than ever before and barely keeping the dehydration-UTI at bay. I never drank much water before though, so even now it's still not a huge amount - but maybe I was making up for that with foods. Anyone else find this? Any tips?

AhBiscuits · 27/12/2023 09:47

Welcome @MuckyPlucky
I'm sure everything is fine, the shower would have had no effect. Many people do not have any effect from 0.25, it's a very low dose just to introduce the drug to your body. It is common to need to build up to 1mg before any impact is felt. My own experience is that day 2 and 3 after injection are when I can really feel the drug in my system.

My next dose is now 2 days overdue and it's noticeably wearing off. I still have a reduced appetite but I can eat more without any ill effects. I'm going back and forth about injecting tonight. We have a long car journey tomorrow and a couple of days celebrating Christmas with my family. I'll feel better and have a nicer time if I further delay as I originally planned, but it's making me antsy. I'm so delighted by my progress and I don't want to gain! Maybe I should try and use.... willpower 😮😄

MorphandMindy · 27/12/2023 10:34

Yes @MuckyPlucky don't worry, it could well take a couple of days to ramp up and you'll probably not notice much right away (some stinging at the injection site and maybe a few acid burps) but by Friday you'll probably be halfway through the day before you realise you've never really even thought about food!

Not everyone feels a lot immediately! I was taking it on a Saturday, and my 'best' days were always Tuesday to Thursday.

Dopaminefuelled · 27/12/2023 21:34

I took ozempic for a few months earlier this year. I stopped due to shortages and high prices and also because I had terrible nausea.
I have just bought a wegovy pen 0.25 as I'm going to give it another go.

Any anti nausea tips?

Has anyone taken any anti nausea medication? Was it over counter/online prescription or via GP? On an American Facebook group I joined lots are on Zofran but I doubt a GP would prescribe me that here in England.

Thanks!
