@OhpoorMe sounds like you’re doing so well, especially no side effects!

@Mybestusername ive just done my first week on 0.5 and it’s definitely found it far far easier this week and found it’s really helped me with just mindlessly eating food for no reason… hopefully when you move up it will help?

@troppibambini6 sounds like you’re doing really well too!

@Crazymadchickenlady well done! I think eating out is definitely when you realise whether or not it’s working… it’s sooo nice to just be able to eat ‘normal’ food but just less of it…

Lovesthebeach · 03/12/2023 15:47

Hi everyone, I’ve just finished my first week on 0.5 and I’m loving it… wish I’d moved up a week sooner tbh. Really found it’s reduced the food noise again and I’m defo eating less.

went out last night and had a bottle of Prosecco… made me feel really sick but managed to avoid being sick… so think I’ll just stick to a few glasses in future…

weighed myself this morn and have lost 11ish in 5 weeks. I haven’t changed my diet particularly just eaten far far less. Its soo nice to eat toast and crumpets… mmmm carbs!

Crazymadchickenlady · 03/12/2023 15:59

@Lovesthebeach yes. I always used to think why bother going for a three course meal and leave half of it which lots of slimmer people seem to do! Now I think maybe some people can leave things on their plate and can still feel full. Sadly that was never me but it is now! Got two more Xmas dinners this week and one next week😳

Helene2019 · 03/12/2023 17:32

I didn't check in last week as in week 4 of 0.25mg dose I didn't loose anything.

Week 5 progress (1st week on 0.5mg): original BMI 32.7. Current BMI 31.2 🎉 .

Slowly edging out of obese BMI category and am on track to do that before Xmas 😃💪

Helene2019 · 03/12/2023 17:36

Re the meds - i have 0 cravings and I would also say that my enjoyment of food while physically eating it is massively muted. My relationship with food is now "I have to eat in order to stay alive/fuel my body" rather than "I love/want to eat all the things I like to eat all the time". Amazing medication.

AnneLarsen · 03/12/2023 17:37

Thank you @Lovesthebeach the Immodium has helped. I’m a bit scared of doing the school run and going to work tomorrow but there’s no choice! TBH I’m wondering if it’s a bug, although it would be a huge coincidence.

Sounds like everyone is doing really well with the weight loss.

Eeek two more dinners! At least you know you can get through them…

im the same… why would anyone leave delicious food on their plates…. I think for me it’s very much a result of being brought up to finish everything on my plate before being allowed desert…. (And I loooove desert)

Lovesthebeach · 03/12/2023 18:56

@Helene2019 youre smashing it… I think you’ll definitely be in the next category by xmas!
@AnneLarsen fingers crossed it settles overnight…. I would not want to do the school run feeling like that 😳

PurpleFlower1983 · 03/12/2023 22:19

I’m starting this week! I’m 16st which is the highest I’ve been in years and want to get down to 11st.

AnneLarsen · 03/12/2023 11:44

Did your diarrhoea take long to settle down? I have just swapped from 1mg ozempic to 1mg Wegovy and it’s horrendous.

Sorry for TMI but it’s like water every 40 minutes and I’ve had no sleep at all. DH has gone out for Imodium so I’m hoping it helps 😢

Sorry, I've only just seen your question, it lasted a couple of days, I did Ozempic last year for a month and had constant diarrhoea so stopped taking it, I'm almost 4 weeks into Wegovy and only had two bouts of the runs, both times after eating a less healthy meal.

How are you feeling now? Has it settled down?

OhSmitty · 04/12/2023 07:51

I'm on the Phent tablets and after a month I'm 1st down. Lowest I've been in 2.5yrs. I'm so happy.

Starting date: 29th Oct
SW: 15st
CW: 13.13.

I'm averaging 1000 cals a day, fasting until lunchtime. Eating wholefoods, reduced sugar, plenty of protein and veg. 3-5 gym sessions a week. Usually any diet I try lasts for around 5 days when my hunger takes over.

221BBakerSt · 04/12/2023 08:08

@OhSmitty that’s great!!

I am down 12lbs in 22 days, very pleased with that. Took my fourth 0.25 yesterday, and am keeping on that dose for another month at least.
Non scale victory - squeezed in to some size 12 jeans this morning yippee! It’s also TOTM at the minute so that’s even more impressive.
Only side effect I have at the minute is sleep - last night I actually slept for seven hours which is unheard of for me.

Wow congrats! Almost a stone in 3 weeks is so good!

Did you have any issue getting prescribed it if you're already a size 12? Sounds like you were obese, or is my perception so screwed of what is healthy?!

Gingerlygreen · 04/12/2023 09:51

Great losses again!

I'm weighing for the first time tomorrow, I'm doing it every 4 weeks so it'll be nice to see how it's working, I've also got an appointment at the breast clinic as I've found some dimpling so I'm hoping it's a good day all round with a nice weight loss and the all clear at the hospital

NotToYou · 04/12/2023 11:43

Took my 4th 0.25 today, weighed this morning and I am down 9lbs in the past 3 weeks. Pretty happy with that! Hoping to be down a full stone by Christmas.

221BBakerSt · 04/12/2023 12:19

@OhpoorMe I weighed 15 stone 8 when I started, now weigh 14stone 10 -with a starting bmi of 36.2 and a bmi now of 34.2, still very obese. No issue with prescription at all.

I think it is scarily easy to get screwed up perceptions around sizes of clothes and health/weight.

221BBakerSt · 04/12/2023 12:23

@Gingerlygreen youll be in my thoughts tomorrow.

@NotToYou that is a really good loss, how are you finding hunger and side effects at present?

Oh wow, I'm so jealous you're a 12 😂 I'm 15stone 4 now and very much a size 18/ 20.

Sorry my last comment was supposed to say 'sounds like you weren't obese"! Otherwise how rude 😂

AhBiscuits · 04/12/2023 12:53

3rd weigh in for me and 7.4lbs down. Pretty pleased with that. Hoping for a new stone bracket next week.
Did my 4th 0.25. There was about a third of a dose left so I whacked that in too. I have a 0.5 and 1 pen arriving Friday. I'm not I necessarily need to move up TBH. I think I will though.

AnneLarsen · 04/12/2023 12:57

@Gingerlygreen thanks for your reply. It’s being kept at bay with Immodium although there are some very ominous tummy rumbles, so I’m hoping it holds!

Best of luck at your clinic appointment.

No side effects so far, mild hunger occasionally but not til dinner time and the food noise is pretty much gone! My DP bought a cake at the weekend and saying no to it wasn't even difficult whereas a month ago I'd have struggled to stop at one piece.

Yoyo dieter for 20 years. Emotional overeater. Sceptical but genuinely think I'm heading for an early grave so I'm trying Wegovy.

2nd dose today. First week was good, suppressed appetite very well. Feel verrrry hungry today but just had a bag of diet crisps so not the end of the world! Ate half the portion I would usually have at lunch.

Getting mine from boots which will be 179 after the first month.

One thing - my period is 6 days late. Very unusual, been regular for many years. I read this can happen though none here seem to be affected?

AhBiscuits · 04/12/2023 19:03

They're talking about Ozempic on One Show right now.

Welcome! I looove your username :-)
glad you’re getting on ok..
I haven’t had that issue with my period… it’s seemed normal so far?
