Schools are returning, most holidays are over and Autumn is fast approaching; A perfect time to re-set the mind, outline goals and affirm intentions. There is definitely a cool nip in the air!

Another new month to initiate a fresh start to become a healthier version of yourself. These threads are for those who’d like to stay healthy, lose weight as well as those who wish to maintain; to encourage a healthy & varied diet and to exercise.

As no one size fits all, members need to follow their own way of eating. This thread aims to offer guidance, support and a bit of hand holding.

We generally have WOW (weigh on Wednesday) day each week. However post and share your progress as often or as little as you prefer. Do what works for you.

The important thing is not to think of it as a diet (based on deprivation and unsustainable) but more a way of life (sustainable & enjoyable).

I calorie count based on a lower carb Mediterranean diet. I intermittent fast and eat twice a day. Im a long time healthy eater and overall I’ve lost over 3 stone. After having been on the wrong side of 12st Im now hovering around 9st 3lb. I had a blip a couple of years ago when my thyroid went wonky but now back (mainly) on track. I Would love to wave bye to another half a stone 😬 The main thing is to never give up! Keep going!

Are you in😊 What food plan will you be following? What do you want to change and why?

PS - Positive thought:- If you were to lose on average a 1lb per week you’ll be at least a stone lighter by Christmas 🎄

Good Morning

Apologies for being MIA, it’s been a hectic week! Several times I’ve intended to pop a post on the thread only to be distracted.

Yesterday’s WOW - 9st 2lbs. Less than last week but not my lowest this month (have seen 9st 1.5lbs)

Special mention for @WeirdPookah ! That’s a whole person. WOW Congratulations and very well done 👏👏👏👏🥳🥳🥳🥳👌👌👌👌

Been cleaning this morning, anybody have any suggestions for getting that "old smell" out of antique furniture? Tried Zoflora wash and bicarb pot in there, hasn't worked, today I soaked it in vinegar!

Also scrubbed the bath with Pink Stuff!

Putting some recipes into MyNetDiary for some more batch cooking next week, I just haven't been in the mood for it yet when I planned to get so much done when the children went back to school.

Today:
B: Kidney bean burrito
L: Aloo paratha, salad
D: Veggie Chorizo style sausage, roast vegetables.
small slice soreen, protein pudding

@TheRealHousewife thank you!

@TheRealHousewife thank you! I'm finding inspiration from reading about these great weight losses and recipe ideas. It's trying to make healthier choices, I lapsed a bit yesterday. Trying not to constantly snack and eat stuff without thinking!

ImALittlePea · 29/09/2023 11:57

Hope all is well and a bit less hectic now @TheRealHousewife

I forgot to weigh this morning 🤦‍♀️ I decided I would just to stay true and accountable, but I was woken up early and gulped down a while glass of water. Probably wouldn't have made any difference but I always weigh empty first thing so just decided to wait and weigh when I'm back from holiday. Just hoping I don't tip back into the 10s while I'm away 😬🤞

Probably won't post before I go, so I'll catch up with the thread in a week!

WeirdPookah · 29/09/2023 13:40

Thanks @TheRealHousewife I do like trying new things.

Been on a long walk to get my youngest her figs, she loves them and the season is short, so went to another store to find them.

B: Porridge, prunes and crunchy almond butter (new in Lidl, SO very good, super crunchy bits like praline!)
L: Poppy seed roll, butter fried eggs, tomatoes, peppers
D: Smoked tofu, broccoli, plum sauce
lemon cheesecake protein pot

TheRealHousewife · 29/09/2023 14:14

@ThriceInALifetime You’re welcome! The menus people share are great inspiration! I myself have been known to change what I’ve planned to something I’ve seen posted 😬

Hi @ImALittlePea Thank you. Im now really behind on all my household jobs! Making a list is helping 👍

Oh my goodness @WeirdPookah youve posted another delicious menu 😋. Can I come to yours? 😅

@TheRealHousewife lists are always the answer! I quite often have 'make list about x/y/z' on my generic to do list 😝

Ninjachicken · 29/09/2023 18:08

55.9 kgs on the scale this morning ! Pleased with that ! Still struggling to get back into a proper routine and I know I am not making the best food choices but I am going to try and eat well this weekend.
well done to everyone who has lost this week

DomesticElf · 29/09/2023 21:25

@WeirdPookah re furniture smell, try enzymatic spray cleaner, usually marketed as per odor remover. Let me see if I can find it for you. That would probably be your best bet. I've tried them all in one encounter with a smelly chair that we got.

DomesticElf · 29/09/2023 21:28

@WeirdPookah this one is pretty good.

It's been another busy week at work! Foodwise Mon-Fri I think I'm quite regular now in having a protein shake for breakfast and lunch as I'm so pressed for time, then fruit and vegetables and a high protein yoghurt as snacks (more like with dinner because I lack time at work to have said snacks), then dinner something I make that's fairly quick like halloumi or rice and something with that. I'm focusing on high protein, fruit and vegetables, water, vitamins. An established habit now is that I eat between 7am and 7pm only.

I missed the WoW but I think it was 57.6kg. I'm on my period though so I'm imagining there's bloating weight in there hopefully too that'll be gone by the upcoming Wednesday. I weigh myself daily at the same time roughly and it's been fascinating seeing how different meals and times of the month affect my weight. I fluctuate daily.

Today I've been feeling quite lazy foodwise but also unsure on what to eat. I had my usual Saturday porridge oats with semi skimmed milk and chopped apple and cinnamon sprinkled on top. Then I baked a vegetable quarter pounder and had a little at home fancier McDonald's burger meal with some Nandos chilli jam, olives, lettuce, cucumber. As a side some vegetables. My scales don't have sufficient battery power left so tommorow I'll get some new batteries. It does mean I had to guess the correct amount of porridge to use and I have no idea what my calorie intake for dinner is likely to be today.

I'd like to make tommorow a cheat day of sorts but not too sure what I'll be having. I definitely need to do the food shop in the morning though. I've been craving TGIs tacos and might have this. I hope it'll be satisfactory if I do go for it - I've craved Wagamama and Nandos and found I couldn't really finish the meals because it just didn't hit the same taste buds anymore.

I want to look at greek yogurt recipies and see what I could do with this and decide if I want to try that rather than the high protein yoghurt I normally get.
